Background Extracellular vesicles(EVs) present in oviductal(OF) and uterine fluid(UF) have been shown to enhance bovine embryo quality during in vitro culture by reducing lipid contents and modulating lipid metabolism-related genes(LMGs), while also influencing cell proliferation, suggesting their involvement on the regulation of different biological pathways. The regulation of signaling pathways related to cell differentiation, proliferation, and metabo-lism is crucial for early embryo development and can determine the success or failure of the pregnancy. Bioactive molecules within EVs in maternal reproductive fluids, such as micro RNAs(miRNAs), may contribute to this regulatory process as they modulate gene expression through post-transcriptional *** This study evaluated miRNA cargo in OF-EVs from the early luteal phase and UF-EVs from the mid-luteal phase, coinciding with embryo transit within oviduct and uterus in vivo, and its possible influence on LMGs and sign-aling pathways crucial for early embryo development. A total of 333 miRNAs were detected, with 11 exclusive to OF, 59 to UF, and 263 were common between both groups. From the 20 differentially expressed miRNAs, 19 up-regulated in UF-EVs(bta-miR-134, bta-miR-151-3p, bta-miR-155, bta-miR-188, bta-miR-181b, bta-miR-181d, bta-miR-224, bta-miR-23b-3p, bta-miR-24-3p, bta-miR-27a-3p, bta-miR-29a, bta-miR-324, bta-miR-326, bta-miR-345-3p, bta-miR-410, bta-miR-652, bta-miR-677, bta-miR-873 and bta-miR-708) and one(bta-miR-148b) in OF-EVs. These miRNAs were predicted to modulate several pathways such as Wnt, Hippo, MAPK, and lipid metabolism and degradation. The water scarcity in quality and quantity is becoming more noticeable and an urgent concern around the world. In Uruguay, these issues become exacerbated by the need to obtain drinking water in coastal areas, influenced by the climate change. Basic and structural geologies are strong conditioners in heterogeneous coastal aquifers. The objective of this study is to characterize the hydrochemistry of the fractured aquifers after having identified the main bearing fractures and the causes of aleatoreous water scarcity and quality problems, for hydric resources sustainable management. Identification of water bearing fracture, hydrogeochemical analysis and water quality evaluation are specific objectives. Some strategies were performed: 1) a base map in QGIS Software;2) fracture photointerpretation;3) geological correlation;4) statistical analysis of the background geochemistry data;5) ions analysis of strategically located wells. There were found water bearing fractures corresponding to 28 m3/h maximum flow rate for the NW-SE and 12 m3/h maximum flow rate for the NE-SW fracture direction, respectively. Besides, there could be a problem related to the high Sodium (Na) and chloride (cl) levels. In this respect, having previous data from 25 well samples, ions geochemical analysis has been carried out for 14 wells from costa Azul and surrounding to have a first approach about the possible cause for the high values of Na (max. 385 mg/L) and cl (max. 381 mg/L). The selected area for this study has a particular characteristic, because it corresponds to a heterogeneous fractured aquifer, which makes it difficult to catch water with enough flow rates and water quality to meet the population demand.

Energy storage systems are selected depending on factors such as storage capacity, available power, discharge time, self-discharge, efficiency, or durability. Additional parameters to be considered are safety, cost, feasibility, and environmental aspects. Sodium-based batteries （Na-S, NaNic12） typically require operation temperatures of 300-350 ~c. The high operating temperatures substantially increase the operating costs and raise safety issues. This updated review describes the state-of-the-art materials for high-temperature sodium batteries and the trends towards the development and optimization of intermediate and low-temperature devices. Recent advances in inorganic solid electrolytes, glass-ceramic electrolytes, and polymer solid electrolytes are of immense importance in all-solid-state sodium batteries. Systems such as Na~ super ionic conductor （NASIcON, Nal^xZr2PB-~SixOl2 （0 -〈 x _〈 3））, glass-ceramic 94Na3PS4＂6Na4SiS4, and polyethylene oxide （PEO）-sodium triflate （NacF3SO3） are also discussed. Room temperature ionic liquids （RTILs） are also included as novel electrolyte solvents. This update discusses the progress of on-going strategies to enhance the conductivity, optimize the electrolyte/electrode interface, and improve the cell design of emerging technologies. This work aims to cover the recent advances in electrode and electrolyte materials for sodium- sulfur and sodium-metal-halide （zeolite battery research Africa project （ZEBRA）） batteries for use at high and intermediate temperatures.

We performed experiments to determine the critical moment for movement initiation of a millimeter bead on a rotating rough *** corresponding critical angular velocities were measured for glass and stainless-steel ball bearings over two different rough surfaces with glued glass beads.A basic theoretical analysis was developed to explain the observed *** the expectation of a simple approach with the presence of the obstacles offered by a rough surface could be sufficient to describe the problem,we prove here that the sole con sideration of these obstacles,and even friction,are insufficient to explain the results in the range of a few-millimeter glass *** the thermodynamic work of adhesion between surfaces is significant,the adhesion forces must be considered in the force balance for particle detachment:.This effect is a determinant for describing theoretically and numerically the dynamics of millimeter particles.

Background Biliary sphincter disorders after liver transplantation(LT)are poorly *** aim to describe the presence and outcome of patients with papillary stenosis(PS)and functional biliary sphincter disorders(FBSDs)after LT according to the updated Rome IV *** We reviewed all endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatographies(ERcPs)performed in LT recipients between January 2003 and December *** on clinical and endoscopic findings was obtained from electronic health records and endoscopy *** and clinical findings were collected at the time of ERcP and 1 month after *** Among the 1,307 LT recipients,336 underwent 849 ***(1.0%)patients met the updated Rome IV criteria for PS[former sphincter of Oddi dysfunction(SOD)type I]and 14 patients(1.0%)met the Rome IV criteria for FBSD(former SOD type II).Biliary sphincterotomy was performed in 13 PS and 10 FBSD *** month after sphincterotomy,bilirubin,gamma-glutamyl transferase and alkaline phosphatase levels decreased in 85%,61%,and 92%of those in the PS group(P¼0.019,0.087,and 0.003,respectively)and in 50%,70%,and 80%of those in the FBSD group(P¼0.721,0.013,and 0.093,respectively).All the 14 patients initially suspected of having a FBSD turned out to have a different diagnosis during the *** PS after LT is uncommon and occurs in only 1%of LT *** data do not support the presence of an FBSD after *** is a safe and effective procedure in LT recipients with PS.

compounds with dual action on cyclic adenosine monophosphate （cAMP） and cyclic guanosine monophosphate （cGMP） may be a treatment option for erectile dysfunction, as they not only promote penile erection but also prevent the upregulation of phosphodiesterase-5. In this study, we examined the possible relaxant effect and mechanism of 17-nor-subincanadine E （SEc, 0.2-200 pmol I^-1）, a plant-derived alkaloid, in rabbit corpus cavernosum （Rbcc） strips that had been precontracted by exposure to phenylephrine （10 pmol I^- 1） or a high concentration of K＋（60 mmol I^- 1） in vitro. In addition to SEc＇s effect on cAMP and cGMP levels, electrical field stimulation （EFS） in phenylephrine-precontracted Rbcc and calcium chloride （1-100 mmol I^-1） evoked responses in depolarized Rbcc were analysed. SEc relaxed the phenylephrine-precontracted Rbccs in a concentration-dependent manner. Atropine, guanethidine and N-co-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester （L-NAME） did not have any effect on the relaxation of RBccs. When 1H-1,2,4oxadiazole[4,3-a] quinoxalin-1-one （ODQ） was added, it effectively blocked the relaxant response of SEc. Although SEc enhanced the maximal relaxation produced by sodium nitroprusside （SNP） and forskolin in phenylephrine-precontracted cavernosal smooth muscle, it caused a decrease in the maximal contractile response induced by calcium chloride in depolarized Rbccs. The relaxant effect of SEc was paralleled by an increase in the tissue levels of the cyclic nucleotides cAMP and cGMP. We conclude that SEc promotes the relaxation of Rbcc, possibly favouring cAMP and cGMP accumulation and calcium blockade. This novel mechanism could be useful for patients who do not benefit from phosphodiesterase inhibitors and for those with endothelial and nitrergic dysfunction, such as patients with diabetes, hypertension and dyslipidaemias.
