Hepatobil.ary cancers are highl. l.thal.cancers that comprise a spectrum of invasive carcinomas originating in the l.ver hepatocel.ul.r carcinoma,the bil. ducts intrahepatic chol.ngiocarcinoma and extrahepaticchol.ngiocarcinoma,the gal.bl.dder and the ampul.a of Vater(col.ectivel. known as bil.ary tract cancers).These tumors account for approximatel. 13% of al. annual.cancer-rel.ted deaths worl.wide and for 10%-20% of deaths from hepatobil.ary ***(CCA) is a devastating disease that displ.ys a poor survival.rate for which few therapeutic options are *** genetics,geographical.and environmental.factors,chol.l.thiasis,obesity,parity,and endemic infection with l.ver fl.kes have been identified as risk factors that infl.ence the devel.pment of bil.ary tract *** important factors affecting the carcinogenesis of these tumors incl.de chronic infl.mmation,obstruction of the bil. ducts,and impaired bil. *** has been suggested that CCA is caused by infection with Hel.cobacter species,such as Hel.cobacter bil.s and Hel.cobacter hepaticus,in a manner that is simil.r to the reported rol. of Hel.cobacter pyl.ri in distal.gastric *** to the difficul.y in cul.uring these Hel.cobacter species,mol.cul.r methods,such as pol.merase chain reaction and sequencing,or immunol.gic assays have become the methods of choice for ***,cl.nical.studies of benign or mal.gnant bil.ary tract diseases reveal.d remarkabl. variabil.ty in the methods and the findings,and the use of uniform and val.dated techniques is needed.

Eos exhibited strong antifeedant and toxicity activity toward Acharia fusca and Euprosterna el.easa *** marl.nii oil.was l.ie most active againsl.both pest insect species,al.hough al. tested Eos were better than the synthetic;repel.ent IR535 on both ***:Col.mbian Eos have potential.for integrated pest management programs in the oil.pal. industry.

The fungistatic activity of a l.ctic acid bacterium, which had been isol.ted from yel.ow pitahaya cul.ures, against fungi associated with basal.rot(Fusarium oxysporum and Fusarium fujikuroi) was measured in the present study. Its activity was assessed in three fractions: fermented(S1), metabol.c products(S2), and biomass(S3), using two fermentation substrates: Man Rogosa Sharpe agar(MRS) and potato dextrose agar(PDA). The bacterium was mol.cul.rl. identified as l.ctobacil.us pl.ntarum. S3 reduced F. fujikuroi growth by 100% over 48 h of fermentation, which occurred during the stationary phase of bacterial.growth. The three fractions' fungistatic activity against F. fujikuroi depended on the substrate empl.yed. The fermentation kinetic parameters for l. pl.ntarum indicated that its specific growth rate was 0.46 h^–1, with 93.63% substrate consumption, 0.045 kg kg^–1 cel. yiel., and 0.54 kg kg^–1 product yiel.. The kinetic parameters cal.ul.ted wil. al.ow for bacteria production scal.ng. These in-vitro trial. reveal.l. pl.ntarum's possibl. appl.cation as a biocontrol.agent for diseases associated with Fusarium. However, further ex-vivo and in-vivo researches are required to demonstrate its behavior in crops.

Background Extracel.ul.r vesicl.s(EVs) present in oviductal.oF) and uterine fl.id(UF) have been shown to enhance bovine embryo qual.ty during in vitro cul.ure by reducing l.pid contents and modul.ting l.pid metabol.sm-rel.ted genes(l.Gs), whil. al.o infl.encing cel. prol.feration, suggesting their invol.ement on the regul.tion of different biol.gical.pathways. The regul.tion of signal.ng pathways rel.ted to cel. differentiation, prol.feration, and metabo-l.sm is crucial.for earl. embryo devel.pment and can determine the success or fail.re of the pregnancy. Bioactive mol.cul.s within EVs in maternal.reproductive fl.ids, such as micro RNAs(miRNAs), may contribute to this regul.tory process as they modul.te gene expression through post-transcriptional.*** This study eval.ated miRNA cargo in oF-EVs from the earl. l.teal.phase and UF-EVs from the mid-l.teal.phase, coinciding with embryo transit within oviduct and uterus in vivo, and its possibl. infl.ence on l.Gs and sign-al.ng pathways crucial.for earl. embryo devel.pment. A total.of 333 miRNAs were detected, with 11 excl.sive to oF, 59 to UF, and 263 were common between both groups. From the 20 differential.y expressed miRNAs, 19 up-regul.ted in UF-EVs(bta-miR-134, bta-miR-151-3p, bta-miR-155, bta-miR-188, bta-miR-181b, bta-miR-181d, bta-miR-224, bta-miR-23b-3p, bta-miR-24-3p, bta-miR-27a-3p, bta-miR-29a, bta-miR-324, bta-miR-326, bta-miR-345-3p, bta-miR-410, bta-miR-652, bta-miR-677, bta-miR-873 and bta-miR-708) and one(bta-miR-148b) in oF-EVs. These miRNAs were predicted to modul.te several.pathways such as Wnt, Hippo, MAPK, and l.pid metabol.sm and degradation. Differ-ences in miRNAs found in oF-EVs from the earl. l.teal.phase and UF-EVs from mid-l.teal.phase may refl.ct differ-ent environments to meet the changing needs of the embryo. Periodontal.disease is of infl.mmatory origin and affects the dental.support tissues. The initial.phase is characterized by the accumul.tion of biofil., which is a predisposing factor for several.oral.pathol.gies. The combination of extrinsic factors such as l.ck of hygiene, smoking and diet, and intrinsic factors such as genetics, and major changes in the immune response associated with immune escape mechanisms of biofil. constituents are crucial.to the devel.pment and progression of the disease, which when untreated entail. l.cal.irreversibl. consequences that can l.ad to systemic changes. In this brief review, we describe general.aspects of periodontal.disease, its risk factors and ways of preventing the disease. In particul.r, we discuss some of the mechanisms of immune response to periodontal.pathogens, as wel. as the escape mechanisms of these microorganisms.
