AIM To evaluate the efficacy of endoscopichemoclip in the treatment of bleeding *** Totally,40 patients with F1a andFib hemorrhagic activity of peptic ulcers wereenrolled in this uncontrolled prospective studyfor endoscopic hemoclip *** used anewly developed rotatable clip-device for theapplication of hemoclip(MD850)to *** was repeated if there wasany sign or suspicion of rebleeding,and re-clipping was performed if necessary *** Initial hemostatic rate by clippingwas 95%,and rebleeding rate was only 8%.Ultimate hemostatic rates were 87%,96%,and93% in the Fla and Flb subgroups,and totalcases,*** patients with shock onadmission,hemoclipping achieved ultimatehemostasis of 71% and 83% in F1a and F1bsubgroups,*** reached100% in patients without shock regardless ofhemorrhagic activity being F1a or *** number of clips used per case was 3.0(range 2-5).Spurting bleeders required moreclips on average than did oozing bleeders(3.4versus 2.8).We observed no obviouscomplications,no tissue injury,or impairmentof ulcer healing related to *** Endoscopic hemoclip placementis an effective and safe *** theimprovement of the clip and application device,the procedure has become easier and much *** hemoclipping deservesfurther study in the treatment of bleeding pepticulcers.

0.020, 0.045 and 0.075 wt pct Zr were added to a Ni-base superalloy GH586 to investigate their effects on the microstructure and the short-term strengths at 850 degrees C. The results showed that proper Zr addition could improve the alloy tensile strength at 850 degrees C and short-term rupture life at 850 degrees C, 580 MPa. Zr exists in both gamma' phase and gamma matrix, which caused Zr to distribute in grain instead of segregating in grain boundaries, therefore increased both of their lattice parameters but decreased the mismatch between them. Meanwhile, it also increased the amount of grain-boundary carbides and decreased their size markedly. These contributed to the improvement of short-term rupture life. However, further addition of Zr resulted in forming Zr4C2S2, a plate-like stable sulphurocarbides in grain boundaries, which decreased short-term strength at high temperature, and led to a worse hot workability. According to the experimental results, the optimum content of Zr should be 0.020 wt pct.

The present paper covers the reactions of M￣+ +CH_4→M￣+CH_2+H_2(M=Sc,Y,La)investigated theoretically using ab initio MO methods and reaction channels onthe singlet potential energy surfaces (PEss) examined and discusses the reactionmechanism. The results indicate that the formation of M￣+CH_2 is primarily via a sin-glet H M￣+ CH_3 intermediate,followed by a four-center elimination of H_2,all ofthese reactions have negative activation energies and the trend of reactivity is La￣+>Sc￣+>Y￣+.

A new method(premodification) is proposed to manufacture inorganic membrane. A series of metal oxide (NiO, CoO, La2O3, Ce2O3, Sn2O3 Y2O3) modified inorganic membranes are successfully developed and are characterized by QELS, BET, XRD and DTA. Ile membranes have a very narrow pore size distribution and the pore size is around 4-10nm. The metal oxide is believed to be a monolayer on the surface of gamma -Al2O3. The temperature influence has also been investigated.

Four new steroidal alkaloids, named sarcovagine A-D, were isolated from the roots of Sarcococca vagans. Their structures were determined as 20 alpha-dimethylamino-2 beta,4 beta-dihydroxy-3 beta-tigloylamino-5 alpha-pregnane (sarcovagine A, 1), 20 alpha-dimethylamino-2 alpha-hydroxy-4 beta-acetoxy-3 beta-tigloylamino-5 alpha-pregnane (sarcovagine B, 2), 20 alpha-dimethylamino-4 beta-acetoxy-3 beta-tigloylamino-5 alpha-pregnane (sarcovagine C, 3), 20 alpha-dimethylamino-3-tigloylamino-5 alpha-pregn-2(3)-en-4-one (sarcovagine D, 4), respectively.

AIM:To investigate the expression of 4-1BB molecule in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and its adjacent ***:Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was used to determine the gene expression of 4-1BB in hepatocarcinoma and its adjacent tissues,and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from both HCC and health control *** cytometry was used to analyse the phenotypes of T cell subsets from the blood of HCC patients and healthy volunteers,and further to determine whether 4-1BB molecules were also expressed on the surface of CD4+ and CD8+ T cells. The localization of 4-1BB proteins on tumor infiltrating T cells was determined by direct immunofluorescence cytochemical staining and detected by confocal ***:4-1BB mRNA, which was not detectable in normal liver,was found in 19 liver tissues adjacent to tumor edge(ssion of 4-1BB mRNA was shown in 8 tumor tissues and 6 liver tissues located within 1 to 5cm away from tumor edge. In PBMCs, 4-1BB mRNA was almost not detected. Percentage of CD4^+, CD8^+ and CD3^+/CD25^+ T cells, as well as ratio of CD4 to CD8 revealed no difference between groups (P>0.05,respectively),while a significant lower percentage of CD3^+ T cell was found in HCC group as compared to healthy control group (Pssues adjacent to tumor edge (ssion of MHC-1 molecules on the tumor cell surface,tumor infiltrating T cells can be activated via other costimulatory signal pathways to exert a limited antitumor effect on local microenvironment.
