Objectives and Study: Cade oil is aromatic oil obtained from the branches and wood of Juniperus oxycedrus, common in the Mediterranean region and widely used in traditional medicine. This oil contains many chemical compounds with neurological, cardiac, renal, respiratory, hepatic, and gastrointestinal toxicity. Cade oil poisoning often requires intensive care admission due to the severity of the clinical picture. The objective of this study is to highlight the multiple manifestations found in the pediatric population due to cade oil exposure objectifying its significant toxicity. Methods: The authors report during this article a series of five cases of cade oil poisoning on pediatric patients hospitalized in the pediatric intensive care unit of El HARROUCHI hospital at the CHU Ibn Rochd in Casablanca during the period from 11/01/2022 to 12/07/2022. The patients have been exposed, a few hours before their admission, to an external cade oil application used by parents for therapeutic purposes. Main Findings: Our patients were aged from 1 month to 4 years, the average age was 1.5 years with a female predominance and a sex ratio of 1.5:1. The patients had no prior medical history, and the cade oil application was spontaneously declared by the parents of only 2 patients, 3 of them reported the use of it after the detection of the substance by the clinician. For all the cases, cade oil was applied to treat fever. All five (5) patients presented initial neurological signs. 3 of them were admitted to an acute consciousness disorder and the 2 other patients presented respectively a convulsive status epilepticus and generalized-onset seizure. We report respiratory symptoms in 4 cases ranging from a simple caught, rhinorrhea to severe respiratory distress. Three patients presented acute liver failure with very high transaminase levels associated with acute kidney failure. Two of them presented digestive symptoms such as abundant hematemesis, vomiting, and watery diarrhea. All

This study demonstrates that two-and three-dimensional spatially graded,truss-based polymeric-material metamaterials can be designed for beneficial impact mitigation and energy absorption *** a combination of numerical and experimental techniques,we highlight the broad property space of periodic viscoelastic trusses,realized using 3D printing via selective laser *** beyond periodic designs,we investigate the impact response of spatially variant viscoelastic lattices in both two and three *** result reveal that introducing spatial variations in lattice topology allows for redirecting of the impact trajectory,opening new opportunities for engineering and tailoring lightweight materials with target impact *** is achieved through the combined selection of base material and metamaterial design.

Valorization of a Good Bioceramic from Moroccan Waste Fish Bone by a Heat Treatment Method

A tricalcium phosphate(TCP)material was produced from sardine and mackerel waste using a heat treatment method after a Soxhlet extraction to obtain the non-soluble portion of fish *** bones were annealed at temperatures between 400℃ and 1200℃.The thermal analysis(TG-DTA)was carried out to investigate the thermal stability of TCP and to confirm the removal of organic matter from the raw *** calcined bones were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),X-ray diffraction(XRD),and field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM).The calcium to phosphorous weight ratio was determined by ***-IR and XRD confirmed the similarities to syntheticβ-TCP(JCPDS-09-169),FE-SEM results revealed the formation of nanostructured *** results suggest that varying the isolation temperature between 600-1200℃ has tremendous impact on the production of TCP from fish bone waste with the required properties.

Toward an Understanding of the Neurofunctional Dissociation between Animal and Tool Concepts： A Graph Theoretical Analysis

Neuroimaging studies have shown that animal and tool concepts rely on distinct networks of brain areas. Animal concepts depend predominantly on temporal areas while tool concepts rely on fronto-temporo-parietal areas However, the origin of this neurofunctional distinction for processing animal and tool concepts remains still unclear Here, we address this question from a network perspective suggesting that the neural distinction between animals and tools might reflect the differences in their structural semantic networks. We build semantic networks for animal and tool concepts derived from McRae and colleague＇s behavioral study conducted on a large number of participants. These two networks are thus analyzed through a large number of graph theoretical measures for small-worldness： centrality, clustering coefficient, average shortest path length, as well as resistance to random and targeted attacks. The results indicate that both animal and tool networks have small-world properties. More importantly, the animal network is more vulnerable to targeted attacks compared to the tool network a result that correlates with brain lesions studies

A Study on Strength Properties of Concrete with Replacement of Low C3A Cement by Fly Ash

The chemical composition of cement has a crucial impact on the performance of *** brands of Portland cement are used for various construction works without prior knowledge of their *** economic and environmental reasons,the valorization of fly ash in concrete production has been increasingly *** aim of this study is to determine the mechanical performance of the cement in which hydrated cement has been injected,and to assess the environmental benefit of using the waste as a partial *** experimental study consists of replacing cement,with high tricalcium aluminate(C3A)content,with cement with low C3A *** obtained result shows that it is very feasible to valorize this material and to manufacture eco-environmental cement which has rheological and mechanical characteristics almost similar to or better than that of ordinary cement,where a resistance of 30 MPa has been obtained,after a substitution rate of 50%.The valorization by using cement with low C3A content makes it possible to strengthen the material at a young age and leads to obtain more economical and less polluting cement.

The Assessment of Soil Quality in the Irrigated Area in the Perimeter Low-Service of Doukkala for the Two Lockers Sidi Bennour and Sidi S’mail in Morocco

The Doukkala-Abda region covers an area of about 13,285 km^2 representing 1.87%of *** agricultural area is 428,000 ha of which 96,000 ha of large irrigation schemes,8,250 ha of private irrigation in coastal areas and 327,800 ha of rainfed *** two large irrigation perimeters of Doukkala are the low-service with an area of 61,000 ha and the high service with an area of 35,000 *** the implementation of irrigation perimeter down service Doukkala,he experienced an imbalance both in the ground and *** first,the state of the quality of soil Doukkala is not ***,observation and comparison of test results between soils in different years seem significant on the evolution of soil quality parameters(organic matter,Phosphorus olsen,pH and salinity)under intensive farming *** measures for rehabilitation and prevention are to be taken immediately in order to identify these problems and prevent them from *** methodology for the realization of this work consists of sampling,measurements in situ and analysis of soil quality *** analyses reveal that the soils of Doukkala are poor in organic matter and very rich in phosphorus,with an alarming rate of salinity evolution comparing the results of different years which must be taken into account to prevent the problem from occurring spread and preserve the soil.

Surgical Treatment of Complex Axillary Scare Contractures: One Case Report

Background: Axillary scar contracture is frequently observed after severe burn insult and is usually accompanied by scarred adjacent area. These scars result in adduction deformity, which may be severe and diffuse. The lack of adequate treatment in the acute phase leads to complex scars that require different surgical techniques depending on the clinical examination of surgeon. Aim: Expose the possible surgical techniques, their advantages and disadvantages in the case of burning of the entire axillary hollow. The surgical management of linear scares contractures will not be discussed in this article. Case presentation: This is a rare clinical case of a 12-year-old girl who was burned at the age of 5 with disabling functional sequelae of the axillary area (limitation of the abduction to 30 degrees). The patient is treated at ALGHASSANI Hospital in Fes city/Morocco. Parental consent was taken for scientific publication. Results: We did two surgical interventions: the first starting with excision of the scar tissue leaving a loss of skin covered by a laterothoracic IC fasciocutaneous flap. The second one was a semi-thick skin graft to cover the supero and infero external quadrants of the left breast. We obtain the abduction at 110 degrees. Conclusion: Early surgical management of deep lesions within 21 days of the burn associated with prolonged rehabilitation and the wearing of compression garments and splints are essential elements in the prevention of these axillary contractures.

Survey on Blood Transfusion Practices among Medical and Paramedical Staff in the Pediatric Unit of the Mohammed VI University Hospital in Marrakesh, Morocco

Blood transfusion is a complex activity, involving many actors. As a high-risk activity, it necessitates the implementation of specific methods for effective control. The safety of blood transfusion is significantly influenced by the beliefs of healthcare workers and organizational factors, constituting two major considerations. We conducted a cross-sectional, descriptive, and analytical survey to examine the knowledge and practices related to transfusion among the medical and paramedical staff at the Pediatric Department (Mother-Child) of CHU Mohammed VI from September 1, 2022, to December 31, 2022. Among the 135 staff members interviewed, only 41% had received training in blood transfusion. A majority (65.2%) of the staff noted that a mismatch in cross-matching led to transfusion complications. Two-thirds (66.7%) identified chills as the primary clinical sign of potential accidents. Regarding elements to monitor during a reaction, hemolysis (78.5%) and temperature (76.3%) were most commonly mentioned. Surprisingly, more than half (53.3%) of the personnel interviewed did not conduct post-transfusion monitoring. This survey highlighted significant deficiencies in knowledge and practices related to transfusion. To address these issues, we recommend implementing guidelines and providing tailored training for the staff, aiming to rectify these deficiencies and enhance overall practices.

随着COVID-19的爆发,中国成为了第一个采用在线学习作为特殊时期开展教育活动的国家。没有人能否认在线学习在疫情期间的所发挥的重要作用,但目前国际学生的在线学习韧性方面仍然存在一些问题,特别是对于那些在中国境外的留学生。本研究聚焦于境外国际学生在线学习面临的主要障碍,以及导致这些障碍的因素,并提出了一些相应的对策,旨在帮助未来国际学生在类似情况下能够顺利开展在线学习以及提高其学业韧性。本研究采取在线调查方法,通过运用ARS-30量表分析学生学习韧性的概念及其内在因素,采用其他自编问题量表分析外在因素,旨在进一步把握影响学生学习韧性的内部和外部因素。本研究共收集问卷为430份,随机选取250份问卷对量表进行信效度检验。正态性检验显示,所有分量表的p值均小于0.05,显示数据不是正态分布;因此采用非参数检验,结果表明,所有的分量表都接受0假设,除了坚持和反思与适应性求助拒绝0假设,这可能是由于数据的随机波动。同质性检验表明,除学校支持分量表外,所有分量表的值均大于0.05,这就是数据随机波动的原因。结果表明,该量表接受0假设,且差异无统计学意义。最终结果表明,该量表的调查数据与原研究假设一致,在统计学上差异性不显著。对两个量表进行效度检验（内部因素和外部因素）,p值均大于0.8,说明数据是有效的。在信度方面,结果表明,两个量表的p值均为0.000,说明数据具有可靠性。本论文的研究结论,是基于分析每个子量表,并根据平均值来确定国际学生的学习满意度。使用了独立样本t检验来比较性别满意度的平均值,然后提供差异的百分比。第一个量表是“毅力”,大多数国际学生在毅力上得分较高（平均3.77＞3.40）,女性得分高于男性得分（3.80＞3.74）,其中女性占52.7%,男性占47.3%。第二量表是“反思与适应性求助”,数据均值为3.84,大于3.4而小于4.20,女生（m=3.92,53.4%）在这一方面得分高于男生（m=3.75,46.6%）。最后一个分量表称为“负面影响和情绪反应”,该量表的平均值为2.45（1.80＜2.45＜2.60）,从统计学意义上看,女生得分（m=0.97,54.1%）低于男生（m=2.54,45.9%）。此外,自编量表由三个分量表构成包括:导师学术指导、学校支持、家庭支持。在“导师学术指导”量表中,均值为3.77（3.40≤3.77≤4.20）,这个数据意味着疫情期间学生接受学术指导,女生对导师学术指导满意度（m=3.79,52.6%）高于男性（m=3.75,47.4%）。在“学校支持”量表中,均值为2.4343小于分歧水平的上限（2.60）,这一因素与学生对获得大学支持的分歧有关,而女性对学校支持不满度（m=2.50,53.8%）高于男性（m=2.35,46.2%）。最后一个分量表是“家庭支持”,该分量表的均值为3.56（3.40＜3.56＜4.20）,表示学生对家庭支持方面较为满意,并对量表中的相关陈述表示认同。在该量表中,女性的认同度高于男性（3.61,53%≥3.50,47%）。研究结果表明,在新冠肺炎疫情期间,国际学生在线学习的过程中遇到了一些障碍,这些障碍在其他文献中也有所提及,主要包括焦虑和抑郁、压力、孤立、缺乏交流互动、学习动力和社会支持等,所有这些障碍都不利于国际学生线上学习的韧性建设。同时,本研究表明国际学生在毅力方面得分较好、且当需要时会寻求他人的帮助、对接受导师和家庭的帮助都持赞同态度,学生们在线学习时表现出了面对负面情绪的分歧,而且他们不同意没有得到他们的大学的任何支持。男女学生在满意度存在性别差异,在所有的分量表中,女性比男性表现得分更高。研究结果得到了先前相关研究的支持,许多研究认为,在相关分量表中,女生比男生表现出更多的认同。
