Composition optimization and performance prediction for ultra-stable water-based aerosol based on thermodynamic entropy theory

Water-based aerosol is widely used as an effective strategy in electro-optical countermeasure on the battlefield used to the preponderance of high efficiency,low cost and ***,the stability of the water-based aerosol is always unsatisfactory due to the rapid evaporation and sedimentation of the aerosol *** efforts have been devoted to improve the stability of water-based aerosol by using additives with different composition and ***,the lack of the criterion and principle for screening the effective additives results in excessive experimental time consumption and *** the stabilization time of the aerosol is still only 30 min,which could not meet the requirements of the perdurable ***,to improve the stability of water-based aerosol and optimize the complex formulation efficiently,a theoretical calculation method based on thermodynamic entropy theory is *** the factors that influence the shielding effect,including polyol,stabilizer,propellant,water and cosolvent,are considered within *** ultra-stable water-based aerosol with long duration over 120 min is obtained with the optimal fogging agent composition,providing enough time for fighting the electro-optic *** design guideline for choosing the additives with high phase transition temperature and low phase transition enthalpy is also proposed,which greatly improves the total entropy change and reduce the absolute entropy change of the aerosol cooling process,and gives rise to an enhanced stability of the water-based *** theoretical calculation methodology contributes to an abstemious time and space for sieving the water-based aerosol with desirable performance and stability,and provides the powerful guarantee to the homeland security.

Lightweight infrared stealth and absorption-dominant electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding materials are highly desirable in areas of aerospace,weapons,military and wearable ***,lightweight and high-efficiency dual-functional segregated nanocomposite foams with microcellular structures are developed for integrated infrared stealth and absorption-dominant EMI shielding via the efficient and scalable supercritical CO_(2)(SC-CO_(2))foaming combined with hydrogen bonding assembly and compression molding *** obtained lightweight segregated nanocomposite foams exhibit superior infrared stealth performances benefitting from the synergistic effect of highly effective thermal insulation and low infrared emissivity,and outstanding absorption-dominant EMI shielding performances attributed to the synchronous construction of microcellular structures and segregated ***,the segregated nanocomposite foams present a large radiation temperature reduction of 70.2℃ at the object temperature of 100℃,and a significantly improved EM wave absorptivity/reflectivity(A/R)ratio of 2.15 at an ultralow Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) content of 1.7 vol%.Moreover,the segregated nanocomposite foams exhibit outstanding working reliability and stability upon dynamic compression *** results demonstrate that the lightweight and high-efficiency dual-functional segregated nanocomposite foams have excellent potentials for infrared stealth and absorption-dominant EMI shielding applications in aerospace,weapons,military and wearable electronics.

Constructing inbred lines for self-incompatible species and species with long generation times is challenging,making the use of F1 outcross/segregating populations the main strategy for genetic studies of such ***,there is a lack of dedicated algorithms/tools for rapid quantitative trait locus(QTL)mapping using the F1 *** this end,we have designed and developed an algorithm/tool called OcBSA specifically for QTL mapping of F1 *** transforms the four-haplotype inheritance problem from the two heterozygous diploid parents of the F1 population into the two-haplotype inheritance problem common in current genetic studies by removing the two haplotypes from the heterozygous parent that do not contribute to phenotype segregation in the F1 *** of OcBSA on 1800 simulated F1 populations demonstrated its advantages over other currently available tools in terms of sensitivity and *** addition,the broad applicability of OcBSA was validated by QTL mapping using seven reported F1 populations of apple,pear,peach,citrus,grape,tea,and *** also used OcBSA to map the QTL for flower color in a newly constructed F1 population of potato generated in this *** OcBSA mapping result was verified by the insertion or deletion markers to be consistent with a previously reported locus harboring the ANTHOCYANIN 2 gene,which regulates potato flower *** together,these results highlight the power and broad utility of OcBSA for QTL mapping using F1 populations and thus a great potential for functional gene mining in outcrossing *** ease of use,we have developed both Windows and Linux versions of OcBSA,which are freely available at:https://***/Bioinformaticslab/OcBSA.

Ferroptosis in early brain injury after subarachnoid hemorrhage: review of literature

Spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), mainly caused by ruptured intracranial aneurysms, is a serious acute cerebrovascular disease. Early brain injury (EBI) is all brain injury occurring within 72 h after SAH, mainly including increased intracranial pressure, decreased cerebral blood flow, disruption of the blood-brain barrier, brain edema, oxidative stress, and neuroinflammation. It activates cell death pathways, leading to neuronal and glial cell death, and is significantly associated with poor prognosis. Ferroptosis is characterized by iron-dependent accumulation of lipid peroxides and is involved in the process of neuron and glial cell death in early brain injury. This paper reviews the research progress of ferroptosis in early brain injury after subarachnoid hemorrhage and provides new ideas for future research.

Enhanced potassium storage of carbon nanofibers as binderfree anodes enabled by coupling ultra-small amorphous Sb_(2)O_(3),graphene modification and sulfur doping

Considering the intrinsic advantages of natural copiousness and cost-effectiveness of potassium resource,potassium-ion batteries(KIBs) are booming as prospective alternatives to lithium-ion batteries(LIBs) in large-scale energy storage scenarios. Nevertheless, lacking desirable electrodes for reversibly hosting the bulky K+hinders the widespread application of KIBs, and it needs to be urgently solved. Hereon, the porous S-doped Sb_(2)O_(3)-graphene-carbon(SAGC) nanofibers are manufactured through an adjustable and facile approach, which involves electrospinning, in situ etching and sulfuration. The synthesized SAGC is featured by the ultra-small amorphous Sb_(2)O_(3) homogeneously wrapped inside the carbon matrix, as well as the co-incorporation of graphene and sulfur. Tentatively,the SAGC nanofiber sheets are applied as binder-free anodes for KIBs, exhibiting a prominent cycling life(256.72 m Ah·g^(-1) over 150 cycles at 100 m A·g^(-1)) and rate·g^(-1) over 100 cycles at 1 A·g^(-1)). The positive synergy among all the active components accounts for the distinguished performances of the SAGC. By reinforcing the tolerability to the swelling stress, producing the valid electrochemical active sites, and promoting the charge transferring for reversible K+uptake, the SAGC finally renders the excellent cyclability, capacity, and rate capability. Moreover, the extrinsic electrochemical pseudocapacitance characteristics induced by the porous carbon substrate elevate the K-storage capacity of the SAGC as well. It is hoped that the conclusions drawn may offer new insights into a direction for the high-performance binderfree KIB anodes.

Metal oxides with oxygen vacancies have a significant impact on catalytic activity for the transformation of organic pollutants in waste-to-energy(WtE)incineration *** study aims to investigate the influence of hematite surface oxygen point defects on the formation of environmentally persistent free radicals(EPFRs)from phenolic compounds based on the first-principles *** oxygen-deficient conditions were considered:oxygen vacancies at the top surface and on the *** simulations indicate that the adsorption strength of phenol on theα-Fe_(2)O_(3)(0001)surface is enhanced by the presence of oxygen ***,the presence of oxygen vacancies has a negative impact on the dissociation of the phenol molecule,particularly for the surface with a defective point at the top ***-kinetic parameters were established over a temperature range of300-1000 K,and lower reaction rate constants were observed for the scission of phenolic O-H bonds over the oxygen-deficient surfaces compared to the pristine *** negative effects caused by the oxygen-deficient conditions could be attributed to the local reduction of FeⅢto FeⅡ,which lower the oxidizing ability of surface reaction *** findings of this study provide us a promising approach to regulate the formation of EPFRs.

Tracing Sources of Geochemical Anomalies in a Deeply Buried Volcanic-Related Hydrothermal Uranium Deposit:the daguanchang Deposit,Northern Hebei Province,North China Craton

Radon(Rn)and helium(He)gases from uranium decay form distinct anomalies related to buried uranium *** order to trace the geochemical anomalous sources from the volcanic-related uranium deposits in deeply buried areas,systematical Rn contents and He isotope ratios were analyzed from the daguanchang uranium *** soil gas Rn concentrations above the deep uranium are ten times higher than those in barren areas,indicating that instantaneous Rn content measurements can be used to detect deeply buried *** helium isotope ratios(^(3)He/^(4)He)of the unmineralized samples from the mineralized drill hole(ZK1)are relatively lower and uniform compared to those of the samples from no-mineral drill hole(ZK2).However,the Th and U contents of the drill core samples from ZK1 are slightly lower than those of the samples from ZK2,indicating that the lower 3He/4He ratios in ZK1 are most likely due to the addition of 4He from underlying uranium *** differences in the instantaneous Rn contents are consistent with the variations in the He isotope ratios of the drill core *** results demonstrate that soil gas Rn and ^(3)He/^(4)He ratios are useful tracers and can indicate the existence of deeply buried volcanic-related hydrothermal uranium ores.

Swelling behaviors of heterogeneous red-bed mudstone subjected to different vertical stresses

In this study,the axial swelling strain of red-bed mudstone under different vertical stresses are measured by swell-under-load method,and the microstructure of mudstone after hygroscopic swelling is studied by mercury intrusion porosimetry(MIP).The weakening coefficient and Weibull distribution function are introduced into the coupling model of mudstone moisture diffusion-swelling deformation-fracture based on finite-discrete element method(FDEM).The weakening effect of moisture on mudstone's mechanical parameters,as well as the heterogeneity of swelling deformation and stress distribution,is *** microcrack behavior and energy evolution of mudstone during hygroscopic swelling deformation under different vertical stresses are *** results show that the axial swelling strain of mudstone decreases with increase of the vertical *** low vertical stresses,moisture absorption in mudstone leads to formation of cracks caused by hydration-induced *** high vertical stresses,a muddy sealing zone forms on the mudstone surface,preventing further water *** simulation results of mudstone swelling deformation also demonstrate that it involves both swelling of the mudstone matrix and swelling caused by crack ***,crack expansion plays a dominant role in mudstone *** increasing vertical stress,the cracks in mudstone change from tensile cracks to shear cracks,resulting in a significant reduction in the total number of *** the evolution of mudstone kinetic energy shows similarities under different vertical stresses,the evolution of strain energy varies significantly due to the presence of different types of cracks in the *** findings provide a theoretical basis for understanding the hygroscopic swelling deformation mechanism of red-bed mudstone at various depths.

Micropillar compression using discrete dislocation dynamics and machine learning
