Superb strength and ductility balance of a Co-free medium-entropy alloy with dual heterogeneous structures

In present work,we successfully fabricated a novel Co-free non-equiatomic Ni_(46)Cr_(23)Fe_(23)Al_(4)Ti_(4)mediumentropy alloy with dual heterogeneous structures,***-levels grain structures and heterogeneous L1;*** results revealed the dual heterogeneous structures lead to remarkable strength-ductility synergy properties in this Co-free medium-entropy alloy,showing high yield strength and ultimate tensile strength of~1203 MPa and~1633 MPa,respectively,remaining an excellent ductility of~28.7%.Further analyses about strengthening and deformation mechanisms indicated precipitation hardening and hetero-deformation induced hardening contribute the majority strength enhancement,meanwhile deformation-induced hierarchical stacking-faults networks,high density Lomer-Cottrell locks and microstructure features of heterogeneous grains and precipitates substantially facilitate the high work-hardening capacity and excellent tensile *** work not only offers fundamental understanding of the strength and deformation mechanisms of the dual heterogeneous structural material,but also provides useful strength design strategy for low-price high performance high/medium-entropy alloys.

Based on characteristics of the tumor microenvironment(TME),including acidity,hypoxia,inflammation and hydrogen peroxide overload,combined with emerging nanotechnologies,designing nanoplatforms with TME specificity/responsiveness for tumor treatment is a promising nanotherapeutic *** this work,a multifunctional gold-palladium bimetallic cascade nanozyme was constructed for effective photothermal-enhanced cascade catalyzed synergistic therapy of *** dumbbell-like Au-Pd bimetallic nanomaterial(Au NRs-Pd@HA)was obtained by reducing palladium on gold nanorods with ascorbic acid(AA)and further modified with hyaluronic acid(HA).The introduction of HA brings biocompatibility and targeting *** zebrafish embryos model showed that Au NRs-Pd@HA had good biocompatibility and low *** NRs-Pd@HA can induce catalytic conversion of glucose to generate H_(2)O_(2) efficiently,and subsequently undergo cascade reaction to produce abundant·OH radicals,exhibiting peroxidase-like(POD-like)and glucose oxidase-like(GOD-like)*** generated·OH was a key factor for tumor ***,Au NRs-Pd@HA exhibits good photothermal performance under 808 nm irradiation,in favor of photothermal therapy(PTT).Especially,the POD-like and GOD-like activities were significantly enhanced due to the photothermal *** synergistic PTT and photothermal-enhanced nanozymes with cascade catalytic effect enabled efficient and safe cancer therapy.

Inhibitory role of peroxiredoxin 2 in LRRK2 kinase activity induced cellular pathogenesis

Parkinson’s disease(PD) is a major neurodegenerative disease. One of the known genetic contributors to PD pathogenesis is leucine-rich repeat kinase 2(LRRK2) whose mutations with elevated kinase activity could lead to both familial and sporadic PD. However, how the pathogenic kinase activity of LRRK2 is regulated remains largely unclear. Here we report that peroxiredoxin 2(Prx2) was identified as a novel interacting protein to LRRK2 with preferential expression in dopaminergic neurons over other Prx proteins. We also confirmed that Prx2 interacted with LRRK2 through its COR domain and its overexpression significantly decreased the kinase activity of mutant LRRK2. Functionally, overexpressed Prx2 rescued the transfected cells from LRRK2 mutant induced apoptotic processes. Importantly, overexpressed Prx2 reversed the altered subcellular distribution of cationindependent mannose 6-phosphate receptor(CI-M6 PR) induced by PD-mutant LRRK2. Our results suggest that,by interacting with LRRK2, Prx2 may play an inhibitory role in the LRRK2 mediated cellular toxicity in PD by inhibiting its kinase activity.

The development and mechanical performances of new type air-cooled Mn series bainitic steels including granular bainitic steels, FGBA/BG duplex steels, CFB/M duplex steels, medium carbon bainite/martensite steels, cast bainitic steels invented by the authors are summarized. The novel series of bainitic steels are alloyed with Mn, and several series bainitic duplex microstructures can be easily obtained under the condition of air cooling through unique composition design. The invented idea, the principle of alloying design, the strengthening mechanism, and the evolution of the microstructure of new type air cooled Mn series bainitic steels are presented. Furthermore, the applications in different fields of these Mn series air cooled bainitic steels with different strength level are also introduced. It is suggested that the significance of the development of the air cooled Mn series bainitic steel can be summarized as follows： reducing costs of both raw materials and production; good combination of strength and toughness; self-hardening with high bainitic hardenahility by air cooling from hot working without additional quenching-tempering treatment or quenching procedure; large savings in energy resources; and reduced environmental pollution.

A mobile mechanism with four tracked-units for a missing miner search robot (MMSR) is presented, with a design based on the terrain features and atrocious environment of an underground mine. Its structure and working prin- ciple is discussed. The four tracked-units are controlled independently and driven cooperatively. By means of two DC motors being controlled respectively, one tracked-unit can accomplish two types of driving mode: tracked travel and in- tegral unit legged rotation (IULR), forming a track-legged compound function mechanism. Its capabilities of surmount- ing obstacles and its toppling stability in underground mines have also been analyzed. The results show that the mobile mechanism can directly surmount an obstacle of the height less than the length of one tracked-unit and get across a raceway with a span less than the length of one tracked-unit by using tracked travel and IULR. Its unstable slope angle is 51.3°. Toppling stability is determined by its structural size, moving direction and slope angle. IULR of four tracked-units can adjust the robot’s posture and then enhance toppling stability or assist in surmounting obstacles. Its track-legged compound function mechanism makes it suitable for working in underground mines.

AIM:To Investigate the effects of transforming growth factorβ2(TGF-β2)and connective tissue growth factor(CTGF)on transdifferentiation of human lens epithelial cells(HLECs)cultured in vitro and synthesis of extracellular matrix(ECM).METHODS:HLECs were treated with TGF-β2(0,0.5,1.0,5,10μg/L)and CTGF(0,15,30,60,100μg/L)for different times(0,24,48,72h)in vitro and the expression ofα-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA),the main component of the extracellular matrix typeⅠcollagen(Col-1)and fibronectin(Fn)were measured by using real-time polymerase chain reaction(PCR)and ***:TGF-β2 and CTGF significantly increased expression ofα-SMA mRNA and protein(P<0.05,P<0.001),Fn mRNA and protein(P<0.001),Col-1 mRNA and protein(P<0.001).TGF-β2 could induce HLECs expression of CTGF mRNA and protein in dosedependent manner(P<0.05,P<0.001).TGF-β2 and CTGF could induce HLECs to expressα-SMA,Fn and Col-1 in time-dependent *** time of TGF-β2and CTGF induced HELCs expression ofα-SMA,Fn,Col-1 mRNA and protein was significant increase compared with control(P<0.05,P<0.001).CONCLUSION:TGF-β2 and CTGF could induce HLECs epithelial mesenchymal transition and ECM synthesis.

Software-defined networking(SDN) enables the network virtualization through SDN hypervisors to share the underlying physical SDN network among multiple logically isolated virtual SDN networks(v SDNs),each with its own *** v SDN embedding,which refers to mapping a number of v SDNs to the same substrate SDN network,is a key problem in the SDN virtualization ***,due to the distinctions of the SDN,such as the logically centralized controller and different virtualization technologies,most of the existing embedding algorithms cannot be applied directly to SDN *** this paper,we consider controller placement and virtual network embedding as a joint vS DN embedding problem,and formulate it into an integer linear programming with objectives of minimizing the embedding cost and the controller-to-switch delay for each v ***,we propose a novel online vS DN embedding algorithm called CO-v SDNE,which consists of a node mapping stage and a link mapping *** the node mapping stage,CO-vS DNE maps the controller and the virtual nodes to the substrate nodes on the basis of the controller-to-switch delay and takes into account the subsequent link mapping at the same *** the link mapping stage,CO-v SDNE adopts the k-shortest path algorithm to map the virtual *** evaluation results with simulation and Mininet emulation show that the proposed CO-v SDNE not only significantly increases the long-term revenue to the cost ratio and acceptance ratio while guaranteeing low average and maximum controller-to-switch delay,but also achieves good v SDN performance in terms of end-to-end delay and throughput.

It is of significance to prepare biodegradable electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding materials with high EMI shielding effectiveness(SE)in order to solve electromagnetic and environmental pollution *** this paper,environmentally friendly EMI shielding silver nanowires(AgNWs)/poly(L-lactic acid)(PLLA)/poly(D-lactic acid)(PDLA)/ferroferric oxide(Fe_(3)O_(4))composites with step-wise asymmetric structures were prepared by a facile one-step non-solvent-induced phase separation *** conductive AgNW network was constructed at a low mass fraction of 5 wt.%on the surface of stereo-complexed crystalline poly(lactic acid)(SC-PLA)film(1.08×10^(4) S/m).Moreover,magnetic Fe_(3)O_(4)is mainly distributed in the skeleton of porous SC-PLA *** to the synergistic effect of AgNWs and Fe_(3)O_(4),the EMI SE of SC-PLA films reaches up to 50.3 ***,SC-PLA film modified with triethoxy-1H,1H,2H,2H-tridecafluoro-n-octylsilane(TTO)demonstrates an outstanding water contact angle of about 150.2°compared with the pure PLLA film(134.7°),stemming from the synergistic effect of denser SC-PLA nano-protrusions and low-surface-energy ***,we successfully fabricated the high EMI shielding SC-PLA film with wonderful superhydrophobicity,which extends the application performance and service life of portable electronics in moist environments.
