Advanced preparation and application of bimetallic materials in lithium-sulfur batteries:A review

Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries are considered highly promising as next-generation energy storage systems due to high theoretical capacity(2600 Wh kg^(-1))and energy density(1675 mA h g^(-1))as well as the abundant natural reserves,low cost of elemental sulfur,and environmentally friendly ***,several challenges impede its commercialization including low conductivity of sulfur itself,the severe“shuttle effect”caused by lithium polysulfides(LiPSs)during charge–discharge processes,volume expansion effects and sluggish reaction *** a solution,polar metal particles and their compounds have been introduced as the main hosts for sulfur cathode due to their robust catalytic activity and adsorption capability,effectively suppressing the“shuttle effect”of Li *** alloys and their compounds with multi-functional properties exhibit remarkable electrochemical performance more readily when compared to single-metal ***-designed bimetallic materials demonstrate larger specific surface areas and richer active sites,enabling simultaneous high adsorption capability and strong catalytic *** synergistic effect of the“adsorption-catalysis”sites accelerates the adsorptiondiffusion-conversion process of Li PSs,ultimately achieving a long-lasting Li-S ***,the latest progress and performance of bimetallic materials in cathodes,separators,and interlayers of Li-S batteries are systematically ***,the principles and challenges of Li-S batteries are briefly ***,various mechanisms for suppressing“shuttle effects”of Li PSs are emphasized at the ***,the performance parameters of various bimetallic materials are comprehensively summarized,and some improvement strategies are proposed based on these ***,the future prospects of bimetallic materials are discussed,with the hope of providing profound insights for the rational design and manufacturing of high-performance bimetallic materia

The Generalized Fixed Point Iteration Method for AVE

In this paper, based on the previous published work by Ke et al.(2019) and Li et al.(2022), by using the matrix splitting technique, generalized fixed point iteration method(GFPI) is established to solve the absolute value equation(AVE). The proposed method not only includes SOR-like method, FPI method, MFPI method and so on, but also generates some special versions. Some convergence conditions of the proposed method with different iteration error norms are presented. Furthermore, methods corresponding to other splitting methods are studied in detail. The effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method are confirmed by some numerical experiments.

Environmental,social,and governance(ESG)performance,along with the novelty of innovation,are significant factors in promoting sustainable development for *** study employs the Heckman two-stage model to examine the impact of ESG performance on innovation novelty using a dataset comprising A-share listed companies in the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Ex-changes from 2011 to *** results indicate that enhanced ESG performance significantly fosters innovation by expanding innovation resources and mitigating agency *** analysis reveals that this relationship is more pronounced under high economic policy uncer-tainty,a challenging information environment,elevated financing constraints,and in the context of digital *** study not only expands the research on the economic implications of ESG performance for enterprise innovation behavior but also places a distinct emphasis on innovation quality rather than ***,this study enriches the existing literature on the factors influencing innovation novelty and extends research into the link between envi-ronmental protection and firm innovation,particularly from the perspective of stakeholder ***,this study holds practical significance for governments aiming to enhance ESG evaluation systems and establish guiding policies that encourage novel innovations,ultimately contributing to sustainable and high-quality ***,this study provides guidance to enterprises by encouraging them to embrace green development,improve social responsibility,and elevate their governance standards to promote innovation quality.

Tackling the proton limit under industrial electrochemical CO_(2)reduction by a local proton shuttle

Industrial CO_(2)electroreduction has received tremendous attentions for resolution of the current energy and environmental crisis,but its performance is greatly limited by mass transport at high current *** this work,an ion‐polymer‐modified gas‐diffusion electrode is used to tackle this proton *** is found that gas diffusion electrode‐Nafion shows an impressive performance of 75.2%Faradaic efficiency in multicarbon products at an industrial current density of 1.16 A/cm^(2).Significantly,in‐depth electrochemical characterizations combined with in situ Raman have been used to determine the full workflow of protons,and it is found that HCO_(3)^(−)acts as a proton pool near the reaction environment,and HCO_(3)^(−)and H_(3)O^(+)are local proton donors that interact with the proton shuttle−SO_(3)^(−)from *** rich proton hopping sites that decrease the activation energy,a“Grotthuss”mechanism for proton transport in the above system has been identified rather than the“Vehicle”mechanism with a higher energy ***,this work could be very useful in terms of the achievement of industrial CO_(2)reduction fundamentally and practically.

Systematic investigation of Radix Salviae for treating diabetic peripheral neuropathy disease based on network Pharmacology

BACKGROUND Diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN)is a debilitating complication of diabetes mellitus with limited available treatment *** Salviae,a traditional Chinese herb,has shown promise in treating DPN,but its therapeutic mech-anisms have not been systematically *** Radix Salviae(Danshen in pinin),a traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),is widely used to treat DPN in ***,the mechanism through which Radix Salviae treats DPN remains ***,we aimed to explore the mechanism of action of Radix Salviae against DPN using network *** The active ingredients and target genes of Radix Salviae were screened using the TCM pharmacology database and analysis *** genes associated with DPN were obtained from the Gene Cards and OMIM databases,a drug-com-position-target-disease network was constructed,and a protein–protein inter-action network was subsequently constructed to screen the main *** Ontology(GO)functional annotation and pathway enrichment analysis were performed via the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)using *** A total of 56 effective components,108 targets and 4581 DPN-related target genes of Radix Salviae were *** with Radix Salviae for DPN mainly involved 81 target *** top 30 major targets were selected for enrichment analysis of GO and KEGG *** These results suggested that Radix Salviae could treat DPN by regulating the AGE-RAGE signaling pathway and the PI3K-Akt signaling ***,Danshen may affect DPN by regulating inflammation and apoptosis.

Unidirectional transport of both wettable and nonwettable liquids on an asymmetrically concave structured surface

Unidirectional liquid transport(UDLT)has been widely used in various fields as an important process for transferring both mass and ***,UDLT driven by a structural gradient has been witnessed for a long time only in wettable *** nonwettable liquids,UDLT can hardly proceed merely by a structural ***,we propose an asymmetrically concave structured surface(AMC-surface),featuring tip-to-base periodically arranged pyramid-shaped concave structures with a certain degree of overlap,which enables the UDLT of both wettable and nonwettable *** wettable liquids,the capillary force along each corner leads to the UDLT pointing toward the base side of the concave pyramid,while for nonwettable liquids,the UDLT is attributable to the static liquid pressure overwhelming the repulsive Laplace pressure induced by the asymmetric grooves and overlapping *** a result,both wettable and nonwettable liquids transport spontaneously and unidirectionally on the AMC-surface with no energy ***,the concave structure endows good mechanical stability and can be easily prepared using a facile nail-punching approach over a large *** also demonstrated its application in a continuous chemical reaction in a confined *** envision that the unique UDLT behavior on the as-developed AMC-surface will shed new light on the programmable manipulation of various liquids.

Deep-learning architecture for PM_(2.5) concentration prediction: A review

Accurately predicting the concentration of fine particulate matter(PM_(2.5))is crucial for evaluating air pollution levels and public *** advancements have seen a significant rise in using deep learning(DL)models for forecasting PM_(2.5) ***,there is a lack of unified and standardized frameworks for assessing the performance of DL-based PM_(2.5) prediction *** we extensively reviewed those DL-based hybrid models for forecasting PM_(2.5) levels according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses(PRISMA)*** examined the similarities and differences among various DL models in predicting PM_(2.5) by comparing their complexity and *** categorized PM_(2.5) DL methodologies into seven types based on performance and application conditions,including four types of DL-based models and three types of hybrid learning *** research indicates that established deep learning architectures are commonly used and respected for their ***,many of these models often fall short in terms of innovation and ***,models hybrid with traditional approaches,like deterministic and statistical models,exhibit high interpretability but compromise on accuracy and ***,hybrid DL models,representing the pinnacle of innovation among the studied models,encounter issues with *** introduce a novel three-dimensional evaluation framework,i.e.,Dataset-MethodExperiment Standard(DMES)to unify and standardize the evaluation for PM_(2.5) predictions using DL *** review provides a framework for future evaluations of DL-based models,which could inspire researchers to standardize DL model usage in PM_(2.5) prediction and improve the quality of related studies.

Hypoxia activates autophagy by Akt/FoxO1 pathway in fish cells

Hypoxia,a common environmental condition,can affect cell survival and physiological function by triggering oxidative ***/FoxO pathway has been proven to play a non-negligible role in the regulation of ***,the role of Akt/FoxO pathway in hypoxia-induced autophagy is unclear in ***,in this study,grass carp hepatocyte cells(L8824)were treated by CoCl2 to simulate hypoxia,and the results showed that CoCl2 can increase the expression of Hif-1αprotein at different concentrations or different treatment *** study found that hypoxia increased intracellular reactive oxygen species(ROS)level,and the expression of autophagy-related genes(LC3-II,pink1,beclin-1 and p62)and foxO1a/*** mitochondrial membrane potential(Δψm)was also depolarized,and autophagosomes were intriguingly detected by transmission electron microscope(TEM)after the treatment of ***,hypoxia inhibited Akt phosphorylation,while PI3K/Akt pathway inhibitor,LY294002 significantly up-regulated the expression of foxO1a/1b and autophagy-related ***,silencing foxo1b also resulted in down-regulation of autophagy-related *** was demonstrated that hypoxia induced autophagy via Akt/FoxO1 *** results will provide a new light on further understanding the role of Akt/FoxO pathway in the response to hypoxia in fish.

A mediation system for continuous spatial queries on a unified schema using Apache Spark

Recent advances in big and streaming data systems have enabled real-time analysis of data generated by Internet of Things(IoT)systems and sensors in various *** this context,many applications require integrating data from several heterogeneous sources,either stream or static *** such as Apache Spark are able to integrate and process large datasets from different ***,these frameworks are hard to use when the data sources are heterogeneous and *** address this issue,we propose a system based on mediation techniques for integrating stream and static data *** integration process of our system consists of three main steps:configuration,query expression and query *** the configuration step,an administrator designs a mediated schema and defines mapping between the mediated schema and local data *** the query expression step,users express queries using customized SQL grammar on the mediated ***,our system rewrites the query into an optimized Spark application and submits the application to a Spark *** results are continuously returned to *** experiments show that our optimizations can improve query execution time by up to one order of magnitude,making complex streaming and spatial data analysis more accessible.
