Hybrid fuzzy-grey-Taguchi based multi weld quality optimization of Al/Cu dissimilar friction stir welded joints

Nowadays aluminum alloys substitute copper in various applications for weight reduction and cost savings. This paper presents fuzzy-grey Taguchi technique for optimization of friction stir welding condition with seven weld quality attributes of dissimilar A1/Cu joints with the minimum number of experiments for effective productivity and product quality. Taguchi＇s L16 orthogonal array was used to conduct the experiments. Fuzzy inference system was adapted to convert the multi quality characteristics into an equivalent single quality parameter which was opti- mized by Taguchi approach. Four parameters namely, rotational speed of the tool, welding speed, plunging depth and tool pin offset were varied in four levels for investi- gating the effects on the process output like tensile strength, compressive strength, percentage of elongation, bending angle, weld bead thickness and average hardness at the nugget zone. The hardness profile is consistent with the variation of the structure within the nugget zone （NZ）. Confirmation experiment was conducted using predicted optimum parameter setting and it showed that the proposed approach could efficiently optimize weld quality parame- ters. The microstructural analyses were also performed for all the zones of the joints at both Al and Cu sides. It revealed the finer grain size at the NZ compared to the base material due to dynamic recrystallization.

Density and carrying capacity in the forgotten tigerland:Tigers in the understudied Nepalese Churia

While there are numerous wildlife ecology studies in lowland areas of Nepal,there are no in-depth studies of the hilly Churia habitat even though it comprises 7642 km2 of potential wildlife habitat across the Terai *** investigated tiger,leopard and prey densities across this understudied *** camera trapping survey covered 536 km2 of Churia and surrounding areas within Chitwan National Park(CNP).We used 161 trapping locations and accumulated 2097 trap-nights in a 60-day survey period during the winter season of *** addition,we walked 136 km over 81 different line transects using distance sampling to estimate prey *** photographed 31 individual tigers,28 individual leopards and 25 other mammalian *** capture-recapture methods resulted in lower density estimates for tigers,ranging from 2.3 to 2.9 tigers per 100 km2,than for leopards,which ranged from 3.3 to 5.1 leopards per 100 *** addition,leopard densities were higher in the core of the Churia compared to surrounding *** estimated 62.7 prey animals per 100 km2 with forest ungulate prey(sambar,chital,barking deer and wild pig),accounting for 47%of the *** on prey availability,Churia habitat within CNP could potentially support 5.86 tigers per 100 km2 but our density estimates were lower,perhaps indicating that the tiger population is below carrying *** results demonstrate that Churia habitat should not be ignored in conservation initiatives,but rather management efforts should focus on reducing human disturbance to support higher predator numbers.

Background The serotonin transporter(SERT),encoded by the solute carrier family 6 number 4(SLC6A4)gene,controls serotonin(5-HT)availability and is essential for the regulation of behavioral *** SLC6A4 genetic variants,5-HTTLPR and STin2,were widely investigated in patients with various neurobehavioral disorders,including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD).Methods We analyzed the association of the 5-HTTLPR(L/S)and STin2(10/12)variants,plasma 5-HT,and 5-hydroxyindole acetic acid(5-HIAA),as well as SERT messenger RNA(mRNA)with ADHD in the eastern Indian *** families with ADHD probands(n=274)and ethnically matched controls(n=367)were recruited following the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental *** traits,executive function,and intelligence quotient(IQ)of the probands were assessed using the Conner's Parent Rating Scale–Revised,Parental Account of Children’s Symptoms(PACS),Barkley Deficit in Executive Functioning—Child and Adolescent Scale,and Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-III,*** obtaining informed written consent,peripheral blood was collected to analyze genetic variants,plasma 5-HT,5-HIAA,and SERT mRNA *** ADHD probands showed a higher frequency of the 5-HTTLPR“L”allele and“L/L”genotype(P<0.05),lower 5-HIAA level,and higher SERT mRNA *** for behavioral problems and hyperactivity were higher in the presence of the“S”allele and“S/S”genotype,while executive deficit was higher in the presence of the“L”*** score was lower in the presence of the STin2“12”allele and L-12 *** Data obtained indicate a significant association of the serotoninergic system with ADHD,warranting further in-depth investigation.

Socioeconomic and epidemiological milieu of maternal death due to eclampsia in West Bengal,India:A mixed methods study

Background:West Bengal is experiencing an unanticipated risk of eclampsia among pregnant women and it persists as the leading cause of maternal *** study aimed to investigate the predictors for maternal deaths due to eclampsia in West ***:The study adopted retrospective mixed methods covering facility and community-based maternal death review ***-based data were used for 317 deceased cases wherein the community-based review approach was used in 40 *** in-depth interview was also performed among 12 ***:One-third of maternal deaths occurred due to eclampsia,and this accounted for the leading cause of maternal deaths in West Bengal.A younger age,a primigravida or nulliparous status,absence of antenatal care(ANC),and residence in rural areas appeared to have the highest risk of developing *** majority of pregnant women had an irregular antenatal check-up history,particularly during the second trimester of *** rate of eclampsia-related maternal death was higher in women residing more than 49 km from the studied *** of the deceased women were referred to three or more hospitals before their ***,the number of ANC visits,the mode of delivery,and delays at different levels were significant confounders of death due to *** risk of death due to eclampsia was two times higher among women without ANC and those who had a cesarean section than that in their ***:Women in West Bengal have a high risk of preeclampsia and eclampsia resulting in maternal mortality and ***,the number of ANC visits,the mode of delivery,and delays in recognition of eclampsia contribute to the risk of maternal *** establishment of separate eclampsia units,enhanced screening,and preventive and treatment procedures may optimize managing eclampsia.

Investigation of performance and emission characteristics using ethanol-blended gasoline fuel as a flex-fuel in two-wheeler vehicle mounted on a chassis dynamometer

This study investigated the performance and emissions of flex fuels in a 110-cc BS6-compliant fuel-injected two-wheeler without ethanol adaptation *** tests were carried out under controlled conditions on a chassis dynamometer at 1000,2000 and 3000 *** ethanol blends from 10%ethanol(E10)to 85%ethanol(E85).Parameters examined included brake power(BP)output,brake-specific fuel consumption(BSFC),peak in-cylinder pressure and exhaust ***,including carbon monoxide(CO),hydrocarbons(HC),nitrogen oxide(NOx)and unregulated emissions,were also *** the percentages of the ethanol blend increased from E10 to E85,there was a noticeable improvement in power *** 1000 r.p.m.,the BP ranged from 2.4 to 4.6 kW for different *** BSFC and the peak in-cylinder pressure followed a similar pattern,indicating enhanced performance and fuel efficiency with higher ethanol ***,using E85 at 1000 *** in a significant 41.08%reduction in exhaust temperature compared with E10,although this difference decreased with higher blend ***,replacing E10 with E85 at 1000 *** CO and HC emissions by 9.17%and 38.34%,*** contrast,NOx emissions increased at all *** with higher-ethanol blends,peaking at a 415 parts per million increase at 3000 ***,unregulated emissions decreased significantly with increased *** ethanol *** summary,the use of flex-fuel blends in a two-wheeler resulted in a modest increase in BP output,improved fuel efficiency and lower CO and HC *** findings are vital for optimizing ethanol blend utilization in two-wheeler engines under low-load conditions,considering both performance and environmental aspects.

Distinguishing celadonite from glauconite for environmental interpretations:a review

Celadonite and glauconite are comparable in terms of physical,chemical and mineralogical *** of both these minerals requires slightly oxygen-depleted conditions in a semiconfined micro-environment,facilitating the uptake of Fe into the *** glauconite is ubiquitous in marine deposits,celadonite forms in both marine and non-marine environments,more commonly by altering intermediate to mafic rocks.A review of data across the geological column shows that both these minerals are more common in the Mesozoic and Cenozoic,which may be related to extensive *** composition of celadonite and glauconite is highly variable and is controlled by the availability of cations within the pore water *** major element composition of celadonite overlaps with that of evolved to highly evolved glauconite to a large *** data and representative samples of celadonite and glauconite reveal subtle differences in X-ray diffraction parameters and Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)*** shows sharper basal and hkl reflections than *** characteristically exhibits distinct 111-021,003-022,023 and 130-131,and 060 reflections at less than 1.51A,indicating a betterordered crystallographic structure than *** FTIR spectra of celadonite and glauconite show similar absorption bands although Si-O bending,Si-O stretching and OH-stretching bands are sharper and well resolved in celadonite than that of *** palaeoenvironmental interpretations,it is,therefore,necessary to examine the subtle differences in X-ray diffraction parameters and FTIR spectra to confirm the identification of these two *** composition of celadonite relates closely to the host rock and depositional *** celadonite associated with mafic rock shows relatively high Fe,Mg and low Al *** contrast,those associated with felsic to intermediate composition rocks show slightly higher contents of Al and

Origin and geochemical characterization of the glauconites in the Upper Cretaceous Lameta Formation, Narmada Basin, central India

This study presents geochemical characteristics of glauconites in estuarine deposits within the Maastrichtian Lameta Formation in central India. Resting conformably over the Bagh Group, the Lameta Formation consists of ~4-5 m thick arenaceous, argillaceous and calcareous green sandstones underlying the Deccan Traps. The sandstone is friable, medium-to coarse-grained, well-sorted and thoroughly crossstratified, and contains marine fossils. Detailed petrography, spectroscopy and mineral chemistry indicates unique chemical composition of glauconite with high KO, MgO, AlOand moderate TFeO. Glauconite is formed by the replacement of K-feldspars, initially as stringers in the cleavages and fractures of feldspars. Incipient glauconite subsequently evolves fully, appearing as pellets. Fully-evolved glauconite pellets often leave tiny relics of K-feldspar. XRD exhibits characteristic peak of 10A from basal(001)reflection of glauconite, indicating the "evolved" character. The KO content of glauconites in the Lameta Formation varies from 5.51% to 8.29%, corroborating the "evolved" to "highly-evolved" maturation *** TFeOcontent of glauconite varies from 12.56% to 18.90%. The PASS-normalized-REE patterns of glauconite exhibit a "hat-shape" confirming the authigenic origin of glauconites. The slightly-negative to slightly-positive Ce anomaly value and the moderate TFeOcontent of glauconite agree well with a suboxic,estuarine condition. The replacement of K-feldspar by the glauconite contributes towards the high KO content. Compositional evolution of glauconites in the Lameta Formation is similar to those observed in many Precambrian sedimentary sequences.
