Green hydrogen production from photovoltaic power s.ation as.a road map to climate change mitigation

The increas.ng recognition of hydrogen as.a critical element in the global net-zero trans.tion and its.clear role in decarbonizing challenging s.ctors.coincide with the growing urgency to addres. climate ***'s.favourable renewable-energy capacity,ranging from 28%to 36%for s.lar,has.been reported by the global s.lar irradiance ***,the majority of hydrogen production today relies.on fos.il fuels.96%),with only a s.all fraction(4%)being produced through water *** though there have been many s.udies.on climate change mitigation with a focus.on Africa,a green hydrogen production from a photovoltaic power s.ation approach has.not been ***,literature with a focus.on Nigeria is.*** s.udy focus.s.on the African green hydrogen production indus.ry,utilizing Nigeria as.a cas. s.udy to explore the feas.bility of generating clean hydrogen vectors.from a percentage of photovoltaic power output in various.regions.of the country through s.and-alone s.lar grid electrification *** of the us.ge and effectivenes. of the produced hydrogen fuel in each region are carried out,with the highes. region having an annual output of 12247278 kg of green hydrogen and 8573094 kg of ammonia and the lowes. region having an output of 511245 kg of green hydrogen and 357871 kg of ammonia,and the expected production from the propos.d us.ge of 50%of the power generation output of the ins.alled 1.6-MWp and 80-kWp s.lar power minigrids.in the regions.is.*** analys.s.were repeated for the other cons.dered regions.in the *** res.lts.s.owcas.d the enormous.advantages.of the electrolytic production of hydrogen and how the greener economy project can play a major role in mitigating climate change effects.and overreliance on fos.il fuels.as.the driver of the economy in many African countries.

Background: Unders.anding the role of s.ecies.identity in interactions.among individuals.is.crucial for as.es.ing the productivity and s.ability of mixed fores.s.over time. However, there is.limited knowledge concerning the variation in competitive effect and res.ons. of different s.ecies.along climatic gradients. In this.s.udy, we inves.igated the importance of climate, tree s.ze, and competition on the growth of three tree s.ecies. s.ruce(Picea abies., fir(Abies.alba), and beech(Fagus.s.lvatica), and examined their competitive res.ons. and effect along a climatic ***: We s.lected 39 plots.dis.ributed acros. the European mountains.with records.of the pos.tion and growth of 5,759 individuals. For each target s.ecies. models.relating tree growth to tree s.ze, climate and competition were propos.d. Competition was.modelled us.ng a neighbourhood competition index that cons.dered the effects.of inter-and intras.ecific competition on target trees. Competitive res.ons.s.and effects.were related to *** methods.and information theory were us.d to s.lect the bes. ***: Our findings.revealed that competition had a greater impact on target s.ecies.growth than tree s.ze or climate. Climate did influence the competitive effects.of neighbouring s.ecies. but it did not affect the target s.ecies. res.ons. to competition. The s.rength of competitive effects.varied along the gradient, contingent on the identity of the interacting s.ecies. When the target s.ecies.exhibited an intermediate competitive effect relative to neighbouring s.ecies. both higher inter-than intras.ecific competitive effects.and competition reduction occurred along the gradient. Background: In Is.ael, mos. cutaneous.leis.manias.s.(CL) is.caus.d by Leis.mania major. Recently a new focus.of CL caus.d by Leis.mania tropica has.been des.ribed in Tiberias.and the s.rrounding area of northern Is.ael. Objective: The aim of this.s.udy was.to evaluate clinical (s.ze, number, location, and type of les.on) and laboratory (culture and polymeras. chain reaction [PCR] analys.s. parameters.at diagnos.s. res.ons. to treatment, and outcome of patients.with CL due to L tropica. Methods. Between s.ptember 2002 and March 2004, patients.with direct s.ear- confirmed CL were evaluated; clinical records.were reviewed and a telephone s.rvey was.performed. Res.lts. Forty nine patients. 34 (69% ) male and 15 (31% ) female, were s.udied. Mean age was.31.1 years.(median 26 years. range 1- 70); 76% of patients.live in Tiberias.and the s.rrounding area. The mean number of les.ons.was.2.6 (median 2, range 1- 10). Les.ons.were commonly located on the face (61% ) and upper limbs.(57% ). PCR analys.s.was.performed in 27 patients.and was.pos.tive for L tropica in 26. Fifty percent of patients.s.udied received multiple therapeutic regimens.becaus. of incomplete res.ons. or treatment failure. Topical paromomycin was.us.d in 44 patients.(90% ), with a complete res.ons. reported in only 17 (39% ); of the 9 patients.treated with intrales.onal s.dium s.ibogluconate, a complete res.ons. was.reported in 6 (67% ); of the 5 patients.treated with intravenous.s.dium s.ibogluconate, 4 (80% ) were cured. Limitations. The relatively s.all number of patients.s.udied combined with the fact that s.me were as.es.ed retros.ectively limit our conclus.ons. In addition, 50% of the patients.s.udied received multiple therapeutic regimens.becaus. of failure of, or incomplete res.ons.s.to, their initial therapy, thereby making comparis.ns.difficult.
