Random gain medium based on organic Rh.damine 590 (R590) laser-dye and Titanium dioxide (TiO2) suspended nanoparticles h.ve been prepared with.polymeth.lmeth.crylate (PMMA) as a h.st. Spray-coated h.mogeneous film samples of 22.4 μm th.ckness. Optimum concentrations h.ve been determined depending on th. normal fluorescence spectra wh.ch.give evidence th.t th. laser dye provides amplification and TiO2 nanoparticles act as scatter center. At th. optimum concentrations, results of th. random gain medium under second h.rmonic Nd: YAG laser excitation sh.ws th.t th. values of bandwidth.at full width.h.lf-maximum (FWh.) and th. th.esh.ld energy are about 11 nm and 10 mJ respectively.

Th. common ways to activate a ch.mical reaction are by h.at,electric current,or ***,mech.noch.mistry,wh.re th. ch.mical reaction is activated by applied mech.nical force,is less common and only poorly understood at th. atomic *** we report a tip-induced activation of ch.mical reaction of carbon monoxide to dioxide on oxidized rutile TiO_(2)(110)*** activation is studied by atomic force microscopy,Kelvin probe force microscopy under ultrah.gh.vacuum and liquid nitrogen temperature conditions,and density functional th.ory(DFT)*** reaction is inferred from h.steretic beh.vior of frequency sh.ft signal furth.r supported by vector force mapping of vertical and lateral forces needed to trigger th. ch.mical reaction with.torque motion of carbon monoxide towards an oxygen *** reaction is found to proceed stoch.stically at very small tip-sample ***,th. local contact potential difference reveals th. atomic-scale ch.rge redistribution in th. reactants required to unlock th. *** results open up new insigh.s into th. mech.noch.mistry on metal oxide surfaces at th. atomic scale.

An experiment was conducted to test th. efficacy of a mech.nical barrier around th. tree trunk with.one spray of Cypermeth.in @ 1 ml/l and turmeric powder extract @ 15 g/500ml of water applied in integrated approach.s against mango mealybug on mango tree. Th.re were 7 treatments including a control. Th. treatments were Mech.nical barrier, Cypermeth.in spray @ 1 ml/l, Turmeric powder spray @ 15 g/500ml of water, Cypermeth.in spray + Turmeric spray, Cypermeth.in spray + Mech.nical barrier, Turmeric + Mech.nical barrier and untreated control. Th.ee-year-old mango plants grafted from a 5-year-old mango tree (Variety Amropali) and planted in pots were used in th. experiment. Th. treatment, Cypermeth.in spray + Mech.nical barrier gave th. h.gh.st reduction of mango mealybug population 87.06% to 93.90% followed by Turmeric spray + Mech.nical barrier and sh.wed 81.13% to 86.04% and Mech.nical barrier alone sh.wed 81.13% to 84.59% population reduction. Turmeric powder extract sh.wed only (8.42% to 23.77%) population reduction of mango mealybug wh.ch.was lowest compared to oth.r treatments.

Background: Understanding th. role of species identity in interactions among individuals is crucial for assessing th. productivity and stability of mixed forests over time. h.wever, th.re is limited knowledge concerning th. variation in competitive effect and response of different species along climatic gradients. In th.s study, we investigated th. importance of climate, tree size, and competition on th. growth.of th.ee tree species: spruce(Picea abies), fir(Abies alba), and beech.Fagus sylvatica), and examined th.ir competitive response and effect along a climatic ***: We selected 39 plots distributed across th. European mountains with.records of th. position and growth.of 5,759 individuals. For each.target species, models relating tree growth.to tree size, climate and competition were proposed. Competition was modelled using a neigh.ourh.od competition index th.t considered th. effects of inter-and intraspecific competition on target trees. Competitive responses and effects were related to *** meth.ds and information th.ory were used to select th. best ***: Our findings revealed th.t competition h.d a greater impact on target species growth.th.n tree size or climate. Climate did influence th. competitive effects of neigh.ouring species, but it did not affect th. target species? response to competition. Th. strength.of competitive effects varied along th. gradient, contingent on th. identity of th. interacting species. Wh.n th. target species exh.bited an intermediate competitive effect relative to neigh.ouring species, both.h.gh.r inter-th.n intraspecific competitive effects and competition reduction occurred along th. gradient. A procedure for preconcentration of Mn（Ⅱ）, Fe（Ⅱ）, Co（h., Cu（Ⅱ）, Cd（Ⅱ）, Zn（Ⅱ）, Pb（Ⅱ） and Ni（Ⅱ） based on retention of th.ir complexes with.8-h.droxyquinoline （h.） on Amberlite XAD-2000 resin in a column was proposed for th. analysis of environmental samples by flame AAS. Various parameters such.as ph. eluent type, volume, concentration, flow rate and volume of sample solution, and matrix interference effect on th. retention of th. metal ions were investigated. Th. optimum ph. for th. retention of metal complexes in question were about 6 except for Mn^2＋ for wh.se value is 8. Th. loading capacity of th. adsorbent for th.se metals and th.ir recoveries from th. resin under th. optimum conditions were in th. range 6.82-9.26 mg·g^-1 and 95%-101%, respectively. Th. enrich.ent factor was calculated as 100 and th. limit of detection was in th. range 0.3-2.2 μg·L^-1 （n=20, blank＋ 3s）. Th. proposed enrich.ent meth.d was applied to tap water, stream water and vegetable samples. Th. validation of th. procedure was carried out by analysis of certified reference material and standard addition. Th. analytes were determined with.a relative standard deviation lower th.n 6% in all samples.

h.gh.y active mesoporous TiO_2 of about 6 nm crystal size and 280.7 m^2/g specific surface areas h.s been successfully synth.sized via controlled h.drolysis of titanium butoxide at acidic medium. It was ch.racterized by means of XRD（X-ray diffraction）, SEM（scanning electron microscopy）, TEM（transmission electron microscopy）, FT-IR（Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy）, TGA（th.rmogravimetric analysis）, DSC（differential scanning calorimetry） and BET（Brunauer–Emmett–Teller） surface area. Th. degradation of dich.oroph.nol-indoph.nol（DCPIP） under ultraviolet（UV） ligh. was studied to evaluate th. ph.tocatalytic activity of samples. Th. effects of different parameters and kinetics were investigated. Accordingly, a complete degradation of DCPIP dye was ach.eved by applying th. optimal operational conditions of 1 g/L of catalyst, 10 mg/L of DCPIP, ph.of 3 and th. temperature at 25 ± 3°C after 3 min under UV irradiation. Meanwh.le, th. Langmuir–h.nsh.lwood kinetic model described th. variations in pure ph.tocatalytic branch.in consistent with.a first order power law *** results proved th.t th. prepared TiO_2 nanoparticle h.s a ph.tocatalytic activity significantly better th.n Degussa P-25.
