The effects of viscous dissipation on thermal entrance heat transfer in a parallel plate channel filled with a saturated porous medium,is investigated analytically on the basis of a Darcy *** case of isothermal boundary is *** local and the bulk temperature distribution along with the Nusselt number in the thermal entrance region were found. The fully developed Nusselt number, independent of the Brinkman number, is found to be 6. It is observed that neglecting the effects of viscous dissipation would lead to the well-known case of internal flows,with Nusselt number equal to 4 93.A finite difference numerical solution is also utilized. It is seen that the results of these two methods, analytical and numerical, are in good agreement.

An integrated method that implements multivariate statistical analysis and ML methods to evaluate groundwater quality of the shallow aquifers of the Djerid and Kebili district,Southern Tunisia,was *** evaluation of their suitability for irrigation and/or drinking purposes is necessary.A comprehensive hydrochemical assessment of 52 samples with entropy weighted water quality index(EWQI)was also *** water parameters were calculated to ascertain the potential use of those resources in irrigation and *** analysis showed two main components with Dim1(variance=62.3%)and Dim.2(variance=22%),due to the bicarbonate,dissolution,and evaporation and the intrusion of drainage *** evaluation of water quality has been carried out using EWQI *** calculated EWQI for the Djerid and Kebili waters(i.e.,52 samples)varied between 7.5 and 152.62,indicating a range of 145.12.A mean of 79.12 was lower than the median(88.47).From the calculation of EWQI,only 14 samples are not suitable for irrigation because of their poor to extremely poor quality(26.92%).The bivariate plot showed high correlation for EWQI~TH(r=0.93),EWQI~SAR(r=0.87),indicating that water quality depended on those *** erent ML algorithms were successfully applied for the water quality classifi *** results indicated high prediction accuracy(SVM>LDA>ANN>kNN)and perfect classifi cation for kNN,LDA and Naive *** the purposes of developing the prediction models,the dataset was divided into two groups:training(80%)and testing(20%).To evaluate the models’performance,RMSE,MSE,MAE and R^(2) metrics were ***(R^(2)=0.9359,MAE=6.49,MSE=79.00)and LDA(accuracy=97.56%;kappa=96.21%)achieved high ***,linear regression indicated high correlation for both training(R^(2)=0.9727)and testing data(0.9890).This well confi rmed the validity of LDA algorithm in predicting water *** validation showed a high accuracy(92.31%),high sensitivity(89.47%)an

The aim of the present paper is to introduce and study a new type of q-Mellin transform [11], that will be called q-finite Mellin transform. In particular, we prove for this new transform an inversion formula and q-convolution product. The application of this transform is also earlier proposed in solving procedure for a new equation with a new fractional differential operator of a variational type.

The paper deals with the problem of switched dynamical systems modeling especially in DC-DC converters case study consideration. It presents two approaches to describe accurately the behavior of this class of systems. To clarify the paper＇s contribution, the proposed approaches are validated through simulations and experimental results. A comparative study, between the obtained results and those of other techniques from the literature, is given to evaluate the performances of the studied approaches.

In this paper, the q-analogue of the Stirling formula for the q-gamma function （Moak formula） is exploited to prove the complete monotonicity properties of some functions involving the q-gamma and the q-polygamma functions for all real number q 〉 0. The monotonicity of these functions is used to establish sharp inequalities for the q-gamma and the q-polygamma functions and the q-Harmonic number. Our results are shown to be a generalization of results which were obtained by Selvi and Batir [23].

The viscous dissipation effect on forced convection in a porous saturated circular tube with an isoflux wall is investigated on the basis of the Brinkman flow model. For the thermally developing region, a numerical study is reported while a perturbation analysis is presented to find expressions for the temperature profile and the Nusselt number for the fully developed region. The fully developed Nusselt number found by numerical solution for the developing region is compared with that of asymptotic analysis and a good degree of agreement is observed.

A detailed mathematical procedure of the optimization of the fluid flow in a tundish water model with and without flow control devices （weir and dam） was carried out using the commercial CFD eode FLUENT 6.0. The （k- ε） two-equation model was used to model turbulence. The residence time distribution （RTD） curves were used to analyze the behavior of the flow in tundish. The location of flow control devices in the tundish was studied. The results show that the flow modifiers play an important role in promoting the floatation of nonmetallic inclusions in steel. Comparing the three geometric configurations that are considered （bare tundish, weir, weir＋dam）, the tundish equipped with the arrangement （weir＋dam） is a best and optimal geometric configuration of tundish.

In this paper, the problem of hybrid model predictive control(HMPC) strategy based on fuzzy supervisor for piecewise autoregressive with exogenous input(PWARX) models is addressed. We first represent the nonlinear behavior of the system with a PWARX model. Then, we transform the obtained PWARX model into a mixed logical dynamic(MLD) model in order to apply the proposed predictive control which is able to stabilize such systems along desired reference trajectories while satisfying operating ***, we propose to introduce a fuzzy supervisor allowing the readjustment of the HMPC tuning parameters in order to maintain the desired performance. Simulation and experimental results are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
