Phenolic profile and investigation of biological activities of Allium scorodoprasum ***

In this study,phenolic profile of Allium scorodoprasum *** and its bioactivity in multiway approach including antioxidant,antimicrobial,antidiabetic,cytotoxic and antiinflamatory activities were *** extraction of phenolic and flavonoid compounds from Allium scorodoprasum *** was optimized as a function of ethanol percentage,extraction temperature and extraction time by employing a response surface *** optimal extraction conditions were found as 79℃extraction temperature,28%ethanol and 118 min duration of the *** was determined as the major phenolic compound of the extract obtained under the optimal conditions and followed by vanillic,caffeic,2,4 hydroxybenzoic and ellagic *** addition to high antioxidant capacity,the obtained extract showed antimicrobial activity,against different bacteria and *** concentrations of the extract obtained at the optimal conditions that inhibited 50%of Aspergillus oryzae and pancreaticα-amylases andα-glycosidase activities were calculated as 11.56,14.35 and 19.35 mg extract/mL,*** antiinflammatory effect of the obtained extract was also examined,and it was more inhibitory against xanthine oxidase activity than against lipoxygenase *** cytotoxicity of the optimized extract was observed against breast and bone cancer cells,and it showed significant cytotoxic activity especially on bone cancer *** a result,Allium scorodoprasum *** could serve as a promising source of natural bioactive compounds for application in food and non-food products.

Resource Allocation Based on SFLA Algorithm for D2D Multicast Communications

Multicast device-to-device(D2D)communication technology is considered as one of the new technologies in the fifth generation(5G)networks that directly addresses the need for content sharing among internet *** fact,when direct communication is available between devices,the spectral efficiency is improved by reusing the licensed cellular *** current studies show that D2D communication increases network capacity and reduces *** order to achieve the alternate capabilities,coordination is required to implement interference *** considered subcarrier allocation for the uplink,in addition to the power control that takes place on the underlay *** completed data rate in single multicast communication is significantly reduced and limited by nodes with lower channel *** this paper,we used Shuffled Frog Leaping Algorithm(SFLA)for resource allocation(RA)in D2D multicast *** compared the results of the SFLA algorithm with the Firefly Algorithm(FA),Ant Colony Optimization(ACO)and Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO);in terms of D2D user throughput,Cellular User(CU)throughput,network average throughput,network interference and signal interference noise ratio(SINR)*** simulation results show that SFLA clearly outperforms other algorithms in terms of data rate under the high pressure of infeasibility.

Floristic Diversity and Important Value Indices of Tree Species in Lower Kanchenjunga Singhalila Ridge Eastern Nepal

The present paper is based on the finding of floristic diversity inventory research work conducted in Lower Kanchenjungha Singhalila Ridge, in Nepal side of Eastern himalaya. Knowledge on floristic diversity of an area can reflect the total resources, their use patterns and conservation status which have a key role for making conservation strategies and policies. Analysis of vegetation helps to develop detailed picture of plant communities of that region. A total of 299 plant species belonging to 184 genera and 86 families were found in the Lower Kanchenjungha Singhalila Ridge. Dicotyledonous flora includes 69 families, 150 genera and 229 species whereas Monocotyledonous flora includes 15 families, 32 genera and 39 species. On the basis of floristic analysis Rosaceae was found to be the largest family with 23 species followed by Ericaceae 17, and Lauraceae 9 species. Current study furnishes three new addition to the flora of Nepal viz. Begonia flaviflora h. hara (Begoniaceae), Carex cruciate Wahlenberg var. argocarpa C. B. Clarke (Cyperaceae), and Strobilanthes helicta Anderson (Acanthaceae). Of this total, 30 woody tree species with 551 individuals and 23 genera were recorded from the altitudinal range of 2100 - 3000 m of study area. The highest relative frequency was recorded by Lithocarpus pachyphylla (18.48%), Symplocos ramosissima (16.30%), Rhododendron falconeri (13.95%), Symplocos dryophylla (10.20%). Eurya acuminate and Symplocos species were found to be dominant in lower elevation whereas Lithocarpus pachyphylla and Rhododendron species were found to be dominant in upper elevation.

The purpose of this study was to determine the association of vaginal ph ≥ 5.0 and vaginal neutrophils >5 per oil field with preterm rupture of membranes (PPROM). This was a secondary analysis of the Vaginal Infections and Prematurity cohort, and was comprised of 12,734 evaluable women enrolled between 23 and 26 weeks’ gestation. Women were tested for sexually transmitted infections and vaginal ph. Gram- stained smears were used for the detection of neutrophils. In this analysis, 5751 (41.3% ) women had neutrophils >5 per oil field, and 2500 (18.0% ) had ph ≥ 5.0. Both elevated ph and neutrophils were present in 1149 women (8.3% ). The concomitant presence of both neutrophils and elevated ph was significantly associated with PPROM at 24 to 32 weeks. Elevated vaginal ph and neutrophils are most strongly associated with early thirdtrimester PPROM, reflecting the importance of infection and/or inflammation in the pathogenesis of this condition.

Total resection of glioblastoma(GB)tumors is nearly impossible,and systemic administration of temozolomide(TMZ)is often *** study presents a hybrid layered composite nanofiber network(LhN)designed for localized treatment in GB tumor *** LhN,consisting of polyvinyl alcohol and core-shell polylactic acid layers,was loaded with TMZ and *** vitro analysis revealed that LhN^(TMZ) and LhNrutin decelerated epithelial-mesenchymal transition and growth of stem-like cells,while the combination,LhN^(TMZ)+rutin,significantly reduced sphere size compared to untreated and LhNTMZ-treated cells(Photopic C6-induced GB rat model,LhNTMZ+rutin therapy demonstrated a more pronounced tumor-reducing effect than LhNTMZ *** volume,assessed by magnetic resonance imaging,was significantly reduced in LhN^(TMZ)+rutin-treated rats compared to untreated *** changes in tumor mitochondria,reduced membrane potential,and decreased PARP expression indicated the activation of apoptotic pathways in tumor cells,which was further confirmed by a reduction in Phh3,indicating decreased mitotic activity of tumor ***,the local application of LhNs in the GB model mitigated aggressive tumor features without causing local tissue inflammation or adverse systemic *** was evidenced by a decrease in the angiogenesismarker CD31,the absence of inflammation or necrosis in h&E staining of the cerebellum,increased production of IFN-γ,decreased levels of interleukin-4 in splenic T cells,and lower serum AST *** findings collectively indicate that LhN^(TMZ)+rutin is a promising biocompatible model for the local treatment of GB.

Boron carbide has unique properties for wide application possibilities;however,poor sinterability limits its *** approach to overcome this limitation is the addition of secondary phases into boron *** carbide based composite ceramics are produced by the direct addition of secondary phases into the structure or via reactive sintering using a sintering *** present study investigated the effect of Ti_(3)SiC_(2) addition to boron carbide by reactive spark plasma sintering in the range of 1700-1900℃.Ti_(3)SiC_(2) phase decomposed at high temperatures and reacted with B4C to form secondary phases of TiB2 and *** results demonstrated that the increase of Ti_(3)SiC_(2) addition(up to 15 vol%)effectively promoted the densification of B4C and yielded higher ***,as the amount of Ti_(3)SiC_(2) increased further,the formation of microstructural inhomogeneity and agglomeration of secondary phases caused a decrease in hardness.

Objective: We hypothesize that genetic variations (single nucleotide polymorphisms-SNPs) in the tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), TNF receptors (TNFRI and TNFRII), interleukin-6 (IL-6) and IL-6 receptor (IL-6R) genes predict high-risk status for spontaneous preterm birth (sPTB) in European-American women. In this study we examine the allelic and genotypic variations and the gene-gene interactions in the TNF-α, TNFRs, IL-6, and IL-6R genes in maternal DNA samples by using a case-control model. Study design: Maternal DNA from cases of sPTB after preterm labor (n = 101) and controls (normal term labor and delivery) (n = 321) were genotyped for SNPs in the TNF-α(6), TNFRI (6), TNFRII (7), IL-6 (5), and IL-6R (3) loci. SNPs were tested for both allele and genotype differences (cases vs controls) with the use of standard genetic epidemiologic methods. Multilocus interaction was assessed with multifactor dimensionality reduction analysis (MDR) to test all single and multilocus combinations for the ability to predict sPTB. Results: Few significant allelic and genotypic associations were detected between cases and controls in maternal DNA. Single locus analysis documented independent association of SNPs at-7294 (allele and genotype) of TNFRI and 24660 (genotype) TNFRII loci with sPTB. MDR revealed a significant 3 locus model that includes SNPs -3448 of TNF-α,-7227 of IL-6, and 33314 of IL-6R. This interactive model allowed the successful prediction of pre-to low-risk genotypes is 3.50 (95%CI 2.52-4.87, P his is the first report to document a multilocus interaction in sPTB that predicts 65.2%of the cases in a European-American sample. Although putatively significant associations with sPTB were seen at a few single locus sites in TNFRI and TNFRII, they were not as predictive as the 3-locus model produced by MDR, suggesting the use of multilocus analyses in gene association studies of complex disease such as sPTB.
