In many cases of wave structure interactions,three-dimensional models are used to demonstrate real-life complex environ-ments in large domain scales.In the seakeeping context,predicting the motion responses in the interaction of a long body resembling a ship structure with regular waves is crucial and can be challenging.In this work,regular waves interacting with a rigid foating structure were simulated using the open-source code based on the weakly compressible smoothed par-ticle hydrodynamics(WCSPH)method,and optimal parameters were suggested for diferent wave environments.Vertical displacements were computed,and their response amplitude operators(RAOs)were found to be in good agreement with experimental,numerical,and analytical results.Discrepancies of numerical and experimental RAOs tended to increase at low wave frequencies,particularly at amidships and near the bow.In addition,the instantaneous wave contours of the sur-rounding model were examined to reveal the efects of localized waves along the structure and wave dissipation.The results indicated that the motion response from the WCSPH responds well at the highest frequency range(ω>5.235 rad/s).

We report the design of a nanophotonic metaloxide front contact aimed at perovskite solar cells(PSCs)to enhance optoelectronic properties and device stability in the presence of ultraviolet(UV)light.High-quality Cr-doped ZnO film was prepared by industrially feasible magnetron sputter deposition for the electron transport layer of PSCs.As a means,the influence of the Cr content on the film and device was systematically determined.In-depth device optics and electrical effects were studied using advanced three-dimensional opto-electrical multiphysics rigorous simulations,optimizing the front contact for realizing high performance.The numerical simulation was validated by fabricating PSCs optimized to reach high performance,energy conversion efficiency(ECE)=17.3%,open-circuit voltage(V_(OC))=1.08 V,short-circuit current density(J_(SC))=21.1 mA cm^(-2),and fillfactor(FF)=76%.Finally,a realistic front contact of nanophotonic architecture was proposed while improving broadband light absorption of the solar spectrum and light harvesting,resulting in enhanced quantum efficiency(QE).The nanophotonic PSC enables J_(SC)improvement by~17%while reducing the reflection by 12%,resulting in an estimated conversion efficiency over 23%.It is further demonstrated how the PSCs’UV-stability can be improved without considerably sacrificing optoelectronic performances.Particulars of nanophotonic designed ZnO:Cr front contact,PSCs device,and fabrication process are described.

Impact of coastal development on mangrove cover in Kilim river, Langkawi Island, Malaysia

We examined the impact of various coastal developments on mangrove cover along the Kilim River, Langkawi Island, Malaysia between 1996 and 2008. We analysed images from Systeme Probatoire d＇Observation de la Tarre （SPOT） of Kilim River using supervised classification and Principal Component Analysis （PCA）. Over 8% （176.83 ha] of mangrove cover was degraded along the Kilim River from its total area of 2153.07 ha during the past 14 years. We identified several causes of mangrove degradation, including mangrove clearing （38%）, mangrove conversion to commercial area （21%）, residential area （19%）, agriculture （12%）, aquaculture （12%） and wake current （6%）. Langkawi is one of the main tourism islands in Malaysia. Tthe pace of coastal development throughout the entire island including Kilim River had suppressed the mangroves propagation over the years. Long term monitoring of mangrove ecosystems is essentials to ensure the survival and sustainability of mangrove associated biodiversity.

In Terengganu, Longtail tuna or Thunnus tonggol is one of the most popular marine fishes landed by fishermen and has a high demand among customers. This species often served with a unique local delicacy called Nasi Dagang and Ikan Singgang, one of the favourite meals during breakfast by local communities. Since people have always consumed this species, therefore this study aims to identify the consumption rate of this species among Terengganu people. Specifically, this survey data obtained from 124 respondents, ages ranged from 15 to 60 years old from five districts in Terengganu, including Besut, Kuala Nerus, Kuala Terengganu, Hulu Terengganu, and Kemaman. Generally, the estimated amount of this species consumption is 239.7 g per person and 1.83 times per week. From the formula calculated, the amount of this species consumed by one person is 437.4 g/person/week. This value can use to calculate the permissible tolerable weekly intake (PTWI) to estimate the intake of pollutants, such as heavy metals in the human body.

Objective:To explore the effects of kelulut honey on bone structure and histomorphometry against glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis.Methods:Thirty-five male rats were used(n=7).Twenty-eight adrenalectomized rats were divided into four groups;each group was given normal saline 0.9%(negative control),calcium water(positive control),kelulut honey(200 mg/kg/day and 400 mg/kg/day,respectively)treatment,respectively.All of them were administered with intramuscular injection of dexamethasone(120μg/kg/day)to induce osteoporosis.Seven sham operated rats were given vehicle palm olein 0.05 mL/100 g/day by intramuscular injection and 0.1 mL/kg/day orally.All the treatments were given daily for 2 month.Lipid peroxidation and oxidative stress enzymes were measured.In addition,bone structural and histomorphometry analyses were also conducted.Results:Two-month glucocorticoid treatment increased the level of malondialdehyde and decreased superoxide dismutase significantly.No significant changes were found in the activities of catalase and glutathion peroxidase.Bone volume/tissue volume and trabecular number were significantly reduced while trabecular separation of the femoral bones was increased which corresponded to the decreased number of osteoblast surface after two months of receiving glucocorticoid treatment.Kelulut honey treatment restored the level of superoxide dismutase and reduced malondialdehyde significantly(P<0.05).Moreover,kelulut honey increased bone volume/tissue volume,trabecular number and decreased trabecular separation significantly(P<0.05),which were further confirmed by increased osteoblast surface and decreased osteoclast surface number(P<0.05).Conclusions:Kelulut honey may have potential bone protective effect,and may be a prophylaxis against glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis.

Network traffic prediction plays a fundamental role in characterizing the network performance and it is of significant interests in many network applications, such as admission control or network management. Therefore, The main idea behind this work, is the development of a WIMAX Traffic Forecasting System for predicting traffic time series based on the daily and monthly traffic data recorded (TRD) with association of feed forward multi-layer perceptron (FFMLP). The quality of forecasting WIMAX Traffic obtained by comparing different configurations of the FFMLP that consist of investigating different FFMLP model architectures and different Learning Algorithms. The decision of changing the FFMLP architecture is essentially based on prediction results to obtain the FFMLP model for flow traffic prediction model. The different configurations were tested using daily and monthly real traffic data recorded at each of the two base stations (A and B) that belongs to a Libyan WiMAX Network. We evaluate our approach with statistical measurement and a good statistic measure of FMLP indicates the performance of selected neural network configuration. The developed system indicates promising results in which it successfully network traffic prediction through daily and monthly traffic data recorded (TRD) association with artificial neural network.

The requirement for guaranteed Quality of Service (QoS) have become very essential since there are numerous network base application is available such as video conferencing, data streaming, data transfer and many more. This has led to the multi-class switch architecture to cater for the needs for different QoS requirements. The introduction of threshold in multi-class switch to solve the starvation problems in loss sensitive class has increased the mean delay for delay sensitive class. In this research, a new scheduling architecture is introduced to improve mean delay in delay sensitive class when the threshold is active. The proposed architecture has been simulated under uniform and non-uniform traffic to show performance of the switch in terms of mean delay. The results show that the proposed architecture has achieved better performance as compared to Weighted Fair Queueing (WFQ) and Priority Queue (PQ).

Pine Wilt Disease( PWD) has caused serious losses to pine trees production worldwide.Pinus massoniana which is the key widely species for construction of ecological civilization in China.The unique and important economic value of P.massoniana plays an irreplaceable role in the process of poverty alleviation and rural rejuvenation in China.However, in recent years, PWD has caused heavy loss in the P.massoniana ecological forests in 17 provinces across China.At present, the cost of preventing and controlling PWD is expensive.The main reason is that the pathogenesis of PWD has not been elucidated, so it is difficult to design its targeted precise prevention and control measures.Highly sensitive P.massoniana is a necessary material to reveal the pathogenesis of PWD.Because the highly sensitive pine dies after inoculated with PWN, and the potential highly sensitive PWD one could not be identified till today, which makes it impossible to carry out in-depth research on the pathogenesis of P.massoniana.Therefore, it is urgent to establish the rapid PWD screening technology of PWD in Vitro.This study revealed the symptom development and PWN number change of highly-sensitive P.massoniana of PWD.The main innovative achievements are as follows:( 1) The PWD symptom development of highly sensitive seedlings of P.massoniana in different ages were revealed.The artificial inoculation PWN method was carried on semi-annual, one-and-a-halfyear, two-and-a-half-year, and f our-year-old P.massoniana seedlings.It was found that all the highly sensitive plants would die after the onset of the disease, but the symptom development process were different.The PWD symptom on highly sensitive half-year P.massoniana seedlings occurred on the5 th day after inoculation, and the symptoms expanded rapidly, the whole plant withered and died within4 days.The PWD symptom on highly sensitive one and a half year, two and a half years, and four years old P.massoniana seedlings began on the 8 th, 10 th, and 19 th day after inoculating with PWN, respective
