CZTS(Cu_(2)ZnSnS_(4)),a P-type semiconductor with a direct bandgap(1.2-1.7eV),earth-abundant,non-toxic,and has a large absorption coefficient makes it extremely useful in optoelectronics and light-harvesting *** this work,CZTS is prepared by an ingenious,cost-effective colloidal route using the‘hotinjection’method with the usage of different *** XRD and Raman spectroscopy shows the single-phase highly crystalline CZTS nanoparticles with kesterite *** TEM results show that the size of CZTS nanoparticles is about 2-5 nm and monodispersity is confirmed by DLS(Dynamic Light Scattering).FTIR confirms the presence of different ligands used in CZTS *** Uv-vis absorption shows the direct bandgap of *** contact angle study shows the hydrophobic nature of as-synthesized CZTS nanoparticles which were further ligand exchanged with L-cysteine hydrochloride to make it hydrophilic to study the photocatalytic degradation activity of organic pollutants and industrial waste in the *** photocatalysis experiments were performed under two conditions:(i)under bare sunlight(Intensity~900 W/m^(2))(ii)focussing the sample under the sunlight via converging lens(1800 W/m^(2)).The photocatalytic efficiencies were then compared and the best photocatalytic efficiency achieved under sunlight was 98.4%for organic pollutants and 75%for industrial waste via converging lens while the corresponding efficiencies with bare sunlight were 98.1% and 73% *** the best of the author’s knowledge,a rapid and highly efficient photocatalysis of CZTS NPs employing a converging lens for water-remediation without the usage of noble&transition-metals has been reported for the first time.

Development and Integration of a Data Acquisition System for SST-1 Phase-1 Plasma Diagnostics

Long pulse （of the order of 1000 s or more） SST-1 tokamak experiments demand a data acquisition system that is capable of acquiring data from various diagnostics channels without losing useful data （and hence physics information） while avoiding unnecessary generation of a large volume data. SST-1 Phase-1 tokamak operation has been envisaged with data acquisition of several essential diagnostics channels. These channels demand data acquisition at a sampling rate ranging from 1 kilo samples per second （KSPS） to 1 mega samples per second （MSPS）. Considering the technical characteristics and requirements of the diagnostics, a data acquisition system based on PXI and CAMAC has been developed for SST-1 plasma diagnostics. Both these data acquisition systems are scalable. Present data acquisition needs involving slow plasma diagnostics are catered by the PXI based data acquisition system. On the other hand, CAMAC data acquisition hardware meets all requirements of the SST-1 Phase-1 fast plasma diagnostics channels. A graphical user interface for both data acquisition systems （PXI and CAMAC） has been developed using LabVIEW application development software. The collected data on the local hard disk are directly streaming to the central server through a dedicated network for post-shot data analysis. This paper describes the development and integration of the data acquisition system for SST-1 Phase-1 plasma diagnostics. The integrated testing of the developed data acquisition system has been performed using SST-1 central control and diagnostics signal conditioning units. In the absence of plasma shots, the integrated testing of the data acquisition system for the initial diagnostics of SST-1 Phase-1 operation has been performed with simulated physical signals. Effect of hydrogen bond formation/replacement on solubility characteristics, gastric permeation and pharmacokinetics of curcumin by application of powder solution technology

The present research aimed to improve the dissolution rate and bioavailability of curcumin using the potential of liquisolid technology. Twelve drug-loaded liquisolid systems (LS-1 to LS-12) were prepared using different vehicles (PEG 200, PEG 400 and Tween 80) and curcumin concentrations in vehicle (40%, 50%, 60% and 70%, w/w). The carrier [microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) PH102] to coat (Aerosil®) ratio was 20 in all formulations. The systems were screened for pre-compression properties before being compressed to liquisolid tablets (LT-1 to LT-12). Post compression tests and in vitro dissolution of LTs were conducted and the results compared with those obtained for a directly compressed tablet (DCT) made of curcumin, MCC PH102 and Aerosil®. LTs exhibited higher cumulative drug release (CDR) than the DCT and the optimum formulation, LT-9 (made using Tween 80), was studied by powder XRD, DSC, SEM and FTIR. Ex-vivo permeation of curcumin from LT-9 through goat gastrointestinal mucosa was significantly (P50) of LT-9 towards NCL 87 cancer cells was 40.2 µmol/L substantiating its anticancer efficacy. Accelerated stability studies revealed insignificant effects of temperature and humidity on LT-9. In summary, solubility enhancement of curcumin in LTs produced significant improvements in its permeation and bioavailability.

This paper deals with the study of transient waves in a homogeneous isotropic,solid halfspace with a permeating substance in the context of the theory of generalized *** halfspace is assumed to be disturbed due to mechanical loads acting on its *** model comprising of basic governing differential equations and boundary conditions has been solved by employing Laplace transform *** that the second sound effects are short lived,the small time approximations of solution for various physical quantities have been obtained and the results are discussed on the possible wave *** case of continuous and periodic loads acting at the boundary,the displacement is found to be continuous at each wave front while it is discontinuous in case of impulsive *** temperature and concentration fields are found to be discontinuous at all the wave *** displacement,temperature change and concentration deviation due to impulsive,continuous and periodic mechanical loads have also been evaluated in the physical domain at all times by employing numerical inversion technique of integral *** computer simulated numerical results have been presented graphically in respect of displacement,temperature change and concentration deviation for brass.A significant effect of mass diffusion has been observed on the behaviour of mechanical and thermal waves.

Land use change detection in Solan Forest Division,Himachal Pradesh,India

Background： Monitoring the changing pattern of vegetation across diverse landscapes through remote sensing is instrumental in understanding the interactions of human activities and the ecological environment. Land use pattern i the state of Himachal Pradesh in the Indian Western Himalayas has been undergoing rapid modifications due to changing cropping patterns, rising anthropogenic pressure on forests and government policies. We studied land use change in Solan Forest Division of Himachal Pradesh to assess species wise area changes in the forests of the region. Methods： The supervised classification （Maximum likelihood） on two dates of IRS （LISS III） satellite data was performed to assess land use change over the period 1998-2010. Results： Seven land use categories were identified namely, chir pine （Pinus roxburghii） forest, broadleaved forest, bamboo （Dendrocolamus strictus） forest, ban oak （Quercus leucotrichophora） forest, khair （Acacia catechu） forest, culturable blank and cultivation. The area under chir pine, cultivation and khair forests increased by 191 ha （4.55 %）, 129 ha （13.81%） and 77 ha （23.40 %）, whereas the area under ban oak, broadleaved, culturable blank and bamboo decreased by 181 ha （16.58 %）, 152 ha （6.30 %）, 71 ha （2.72 %） and 7 ha （0.47 %）, respectively. Conclusions： The study revealed a decrease in the area under forest and culturable blank categories and a simultaneous increase in the area under cultivation primarily due to the large scale introduction of horticultural cash crops in the state. The composition of forests also exhibited some major changes, with an increase in the area of commercially important monoculture plantation species such as pine and khair, and a decline in the area of oak, broadleaved and bamboo which are facing a high anthropogenic pressure in meeting the livelihood demands of forest dependent communities. Study of plasma parameters of coaxial plasma source using triple Langmuir probe and Faraday cup diagnostics

Coaxial plasma guns are a type of plasma source that produces plasma which propagates radially and axially controlled by the shape of the ground electrode, which has attracted much interest in several applications. In this work, a 120° opening angle of CPG nozzle is used as a plasma gun configuration that operates at the energy of 150 J. The ionization of polyethylene insulator between the electrodes of the gun produces a cloud of hydrogen and carbon *** triple Langmuir probe and Faraday cup are used to measure plasma density and plasma temperature. These methods are used to measure the on-axis and off-axis plasma divergence of the coaxial plasma gun. The peak values of ion densities measured at a distance of 25 mm on-axis from the plasma gun are(1.6±0.5)×10^(19)m^(-3)and(2.8±0.6)×10^(19)m^(-3)for hydrogen and carbon plasma respectively and the peak temperature is 3.02±0.5 eV. The mean propagation velocity of plasma is calculated using the transit times of plasma at different distances from the plasma gun and is found to be 4.54±0.25 cm/μs and 1.81±0.18 cm/μs for hydrogen and carbon plasma respectively. The Debye radius is obtained from the measured experimental data that satisfies the thin sheath approximation. The shot-to-shot stability of plasma parameters facilitates the use of plasma guns in laboratory experiments. These types of plasma sources can be used in many applications like plasma opening switches, plasma devices, and as plasma sources.

Optimal Eighth Order Convergent Iteration Scheme Based on Lagrange Interpolation

In this paper, based on fourth order Ostrowski method, we derive an optimal eighth order iteration scheme for obtaining simple roots of nonlinear equations using Lagrange interpolation and suitable weight functions. The scheme requires three evaluations of the function and one evaluation of the first derivative per iteration. Numerical examples are included to confirm the theoretical results and to show the competitive performance of the proposed iteration scheme.

Broad-band spectral study of LMXB black hole candidate 4U 1957+11 with NuSTAR

We present here the results of broadband spectral analysis of a low-mass X-ray binary and a black hole candidate 4 U 1957+*** source was observed nine times with the Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope A rray(NuSTAR)between September 2018 and November *** these observations,the spectral state of 4 U 1957+11 evolved *** disc dominant spectra are described well with a hot,multicolor disc blackbody with disc temperature varying in the range kT_(in)~1.35-1.86 keV and a non-thermal component having a steep slope(Γ=2-3).A broad Fe emission line feature(5-8 keV)was observed in the spectra of all the *** relativistic disc model was used to study the effect of distance,inclination and the black hole mass on its *** indicate a higher spin for smaller distances and lower black hole *** smaller distances and higher masses,spin is maximum and almost independent of the *** inverse correlation exists between the spin and the spectral hardening factor for all the *** system prefers a moderate spin of about 0.85 for black hole masses between 4-6 M⊙for a 7 kpc distance.
