In this manuscript,an algorithm for the computation of numerical solutions to some variable order fractional differential equations(FDEs)subject to the boundary and initial conditions is developed.We use shifted Legendre polynomials for the required numerical algorithm to develop some operational matrices.Further,operational matrices are constructed using variable order differentiation and integration.We are finding the operationalmatrices of variable order differentiation and integration by omitting the discretization of data.With the help of aforesaid matrices,considered FDEs are converted to algebraic equations of Sylvester type.Finally,the algebraic equations we get are solved with the help of mathematical software like Matlab or Mathematica to compute numerical solutions.Some examples are given to check the proposed method’s accuracy and graphical representations.Exact and numerical solutions are also compared in the paper for some examples.The efficiency of the method can be enhanced further by increasing the scale level.

In this work,We are looking at the characteristics of micropolar flow in a porous channel that’s being driven by suction or injection.The working of the fluid is described in the flowmodel.We can reduce the governing nonlinear partial differential equations(PDEs)to a model of coupled systems of nonlinear ordinary differential equations using similarity variables(ODEs).In order to obtain the results of a coupled system of nonlinear ODEs,we discuss a method which is known as the differential transform method(DTM).The concern transform is an excellent mathematical tool to obtain the analytical series solution to the nonlinear ODEs.To observe beast agreement between analytical method and numerical method,we compare our result with the rung-Kutta method of order four(rK4).We also provide simulation plots to the obtained result by using Mathematica.Onthese plots,we discuss the effect of different parameters which arise during the calculation of the flow model equations.

Currently, relational database management systems (rDBMSs)face different challenges in application development due to the massive growthof unstructured and semi-structured data. This introduced new DBMS categories, known as not only structured query language (NoSQL) DBMSs, whichdo not adhere to the relational model. The migration from relational databasesto NoSQL databases is challenging due to the data complexity. This study aimsto enhance the storage performance of rDBMSs in handling a variety of data.The paper presents two approaches. The first approach proposes a convenientrepresentation of unstructured data storage. Several extensive experimentswere implemented to assess the efficiency of this approach that could resultin substantial improvements in the rDBMSs storage. The second approachproposes using the JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) format to representmultivalued attributes and many to many (M:N) relationships in relationaldatabases to create a flexible schema and store semi-structured data. Theresults indicate that the proposed approaches outperform similar approachesand improve data storage performance, which helps preserve software stabilityin huge organizations by improving existing software packages whose replacement may be highly costly.

In the new era of technology,daily human activities are becoming more challenging in terms of monitoring complex scenes and backgrounds.To understand the scenes and activities from human life logs,human-object interaction(HOI)is important in terms of visual relationship detection and human pose estimation.Activities understanding and interaction recognition between human and object along with the pose estimation and interaction modeling have been explained.Some existing algorithms and feature extraction procedures are complicated including accurate detection of rare human postures,occluded regions,and unsatisfactory detection of objects,especially small-sized objects.The existing HOI detection techniques are instancecentric(object-based)where interaction is predicted between all the pairs.Such estimation depends on appearance features and spatial information.Therefore,we propose a novel approach to demonstrate that the appearance features alone are not sufficient to predict the HOI.Furthermore,we detect the human body parts by using the Gaussian Matric Model(GMM)followed by object detection using YOLO.We predict the interaction points which directly classify the interaction and pair them with densely predicted HOI vectors by using the interaction algorithm.The interactions are linked with the human and object to predict the actions.The experiments have been performed on two benchmark HOI datasets demonstrating the proposed approach.

Micro-arc oxidation(MAO) technique is capable of producing dense oxide films on the aluminium alloy surface. This oxide film protects the aluminium alloy from the corrosion attack for longer duration.Empirical relationships were derived to evaluate the MAO coating properties(porosity and hardness) by incorporating very important MAO parameters(current density, inter-electrode distance and oxidation time). MAO parameters were also optimized to achieve coatings with minimum porosity and maximum hardness. Further, the effect of MAO parameters on coating characteristics was analysed. From the results, it is found that the current density has greater influence on the responses than the other two parameters.

Maturation of the 3′end of almost all eukaryotic messenger rNAs(m rNAs)requires cleavage and polyadenylation.Most mammalian m rNAs are polyadenylated at different sites within the last exon,generating alternative polyadenylation(APA)isoforms that have the same coding region but distinct 3′untranslated regions(UTrs).The 3′UTr contains motifs that regulate m rNA metabolism;thus,changing the 3′UTr length via APA can significantly affect gene expression.Endochondral ossification is a central process in bone healing,but the impact of APA on gene expression during this process is unknown.Here,we report the widespread occurrence of APA,which impacts multiple pathways that are known to participate in bone healing.Importantly,the progression of endochondral ossification involves global 3′UTr shortening,which is coupled with an increased abundance of shortened transcripts relative to other transcripts;these results highlight the role of APA in promoting gene expression during endochondral bone formation.Our mechanistic studies of transcripts that undergo APA in the fracture callus revealed an intricate regulatory network in which APA enhances the expression of the collagen,type I,alpha 1(Col1a1)and Col1a2 genes,which encode the 2 subunits of the abundantly expressed protein collagen 1.APA exerts this effect by shortening the 3′UTrs of the Col1a1 and Col1a2 m rNAs,thus removing the binding sites of mi r-29a-3p,which would otherwise strongly promote the degradation of both transcripts.Taken together,our study is the first to characterize the crucial roles of APA in regulating the 3′UTr landscape and modulating gene expression during fracture healing.

In this work,we present a model that uses the fractional order Caputo derivative for the novel Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)with different hospitalization strategies for severe and mild cases and incorporate an awareness program.We generalize the SEIr model of the spread of COVID-19 with a private focus on the transmissibility of people who are aware of the disease and follow preventative health measures and people who are ignorant of the disease and do not follow preventive health measures.Moreover,individuals with severe,mild symptoms and asymptomatically infected are also considered.The basic reproduction number(r0)and local stability of the disease-free equilibrium(DFE)in terms of r0 are investigated.Also,the uniqueness and existence of the solution are studied.Numerical simulations are performed by using some real values of parameters.Furthermore,the immunization of a sample of aware susceptible individuals in the proposed model to forecast the effect of the vaccination is also considered.Also,an investigation of the effect of public awareness on transmission dynamics is one of our aim in this work.Finally,a prediction about the evolution of COVID-19 in 1000 days is given.For the qualitative theory of the existence of a solution,we use some tools of nonlinear analysis,including Lipschitz criteria.Also,for the numerical interpretation,we use the Adams-Moulton-Bashforth procedure.All the numerical results are presented graphically.

Vitamin D in esophageal cancer: Is there a role for chemoprevention?

Vitamin D has emerged as a promising anti-cancer agent due to its diverse biological effects on tumor differentiation, apoptosis and suppression of cellular proliferation. Current evidence suggests a protective role of vitamin D in colon cancer. The effect of vitamin D on esophageal cancer remains controversial. Multiple studies investigated the association between vitamin D and esophageal cancer, employing different modes of assessment of vitamin D status such as serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels, vitamin D dietary intake or exposure to ultraviolet B(UVB) radiation. Genetic variations of the vitamin D receptor(VDr) gene and VDr expression in esophageal specimens have also been investigated. Ecological studies evaluating exposure to UVB radiation yielded an inverse correlation with esophageal cancer. When vitamin D dietary intake was assessed, direct association with esophageal cancer was observed. However, circulating 25-hydroxyvitamin D concentrations showed inconsistent results. In this review article, we present a detailed summary of the current data on the effects of vitamin D on various histological subtypes of esophageal cancer and their precursor lesions. Well-powered prospective studies with accurate measurement of vitamin D status are needed before chemoprevention with vitamin D is recommended, as current evidence does not support a chemopreventive role of vitamin D against esophageal cancer. Future studies looking at the incidence of esophageal cancer in patients with pre-cancerous lesions(Barrett's esophagus and squamous cell dysplasia) receiving vitamin D supplementation are needed.
