The Use of a High Frequency Linear Transducer in the Assessment of Fetal Anatomy at the Routine 11 to 13 + 6-Week Scan among Chinese Population

Objectives: To determine if the use of high frequency linear transducer (HFLT) in addition to conventional curvilinear transducer (CCT) aids assessment of fetal cardiac and non-cardiac anatomy in the first trimester. Methods: Transabdominal CCT (4 - 8 MHz) followed by HFLT (9 MHz) was used to study prospectively the visualization rate of basic and optional anatomical structures according to international guidelines. McNemar and Chi-square test were used to compare correlated and independent proportions respectively. Postnatal outcomes were traced. Results: Comparing with CCT alone, additional use of HFLT did not improve the completion rate of basic anomaly screen (95.0% vs. 97.0%, p = 0.5) in the 101 women studied, but it improved the visualization rate of some optional structures including lens (57.4% vs. 73.3%), three-vessel view (3 VV) (17.8% vs. 48.5%), left ventricular outflow tract (17.8% vs. 51.5%), kidneys (8.9% vs. 47.5%), and umbilical artery (86.1% vs. 93.1%) (all p < 0.05). Favourable fetal position was associated with a better visualisation of four-chamber view and 3VV (p < 0.05). Conclusions: Our findings supported that the use of HFLT in addition to CCT does not improve the completion of basic anomaly screen, nor does it achieve a high visualisation rate of different cardiac views in the first trimester.

澳门社区公共服务由政府与民间不同的机构共同提供,形成了多元主体参与社区公共服务的机制,促成社区与政府在社区服务及建设方面产生良好的互动。同时,不但社区的公共服务满足了居民社会化的生活需求,而且切适的服务提高了公众参与社区的积极性,多元化的社区服务还有助于实现居民社会福利服务的深化发展。探讨澳门社区特色的公众参与公共服务的经验,分析社会组织结构形式的公众参与制度的利弊,探究公共服务中的合理配置、服务系统的规范、参与程序的弊端与利益保障等问题,能够总结出澳门公共服务多元主体治理的经验,适当调整民间社团的参与机制,以便推向社区参与的可持续发展道路。

Kinematic Evolution of the Nyakong-Manyi Shear Zone(Adamawa,Cameroon): Constraints from Field Observations and Microstructures,and Implication for Metamorphic P-T-t Estimation

The Nyakong-Manyi Shear Zone(NMSZ) is a NE-SW elongated corridor found to the northwest of the Foumban-Bankim Shear Zone(FBSZ) along the Central Cameroon Shear Zone. Controversial chronology models has been proposed for the kinematic evolution of the sinistral and dextral shear phases in the Tikar Plain, thus in the FBSZ;early dextral and late sinistral shear phases for some authors and early sinistral and late dextral shear for others. Moreover, the NMSZ kinematic evolution implication on the mylonitization P-T-t path in the area seem to be problematic and the present paper aim is to clear enough those problems;since this shear zone is the main mylonitic corridor that registered the left and right lateral movement in this area. The NMSZ comprises amphibolites, protomylonites, strict sensus mylonites(garnet-kyanite-sillimanite mylonite and garnet-pyroxene mylonite), ultramylonites kyanite-sillimanite and garnet-kyanite-sillimanite gneiss. Field structures testify that the investigated area recorded three deformation phases:(i) the D1deformation phase which is marked by NW-SE to N-S trending S1metamorphic foliation with low to moderate dips(15°–45°) that was transposed during the D2phase, is responsible for a regional metamorphism whose mineral paragenesis is garnet-kyanite-sillimanite;(ii) the early sinistral NNE-SSW to NE-SW shear phase D2marked by S2metamorphic and mylonitic foliations;responsible for, L2stretching mineral lineation, F2fold axes and B2boudins structures;(iii) the late dextral NE-SW shear phase D3, characterized by F3folds, B3boudins and ductile dextral C3shear planes. Mineral paragenesis garnet + kyanite + sillimanite and microstructures within gneiss testify that this rock underwent high grade regional metamorphism whose peak conditions are estimated at 11.5–13.5 kbar/850–900 ℃. An interesting phenomenon of dual S-N fatigue behavior is investigated in a metastable β titanium alloy,Ti-7 Mo-3 Nb-3 Cr-3 Al notched cylindrical specimens with an elastic stress concentration factor of Kt=*** studies revealed all specimens,and irrespective of lifetime,failed from the specimen surface because of stress concentration occurs at the notch ***,the short-life-distribution is usually associated with surface-failure-without-facets and the long-life-distribution generally occurs due to *** competing failure leads to increasing the variability in fatigue lifetime and further facilitates the difficulty in prediction of fatigue ***-initiation area characterization was conducted by using mechanical grinding,focused ion beam milling and subsequent electron backscattered diffraction(EBSD) analysis of the 2 D section across faceted *** show that the α_p particles(especially the elongated α_p particles) well-oriented for basal slip activation is a preferential fatigue-critical microstructural ***,the β+α_s matrix has a higher kam value than the α_p particles in fatigued microstructures and significant dislocation activity in the form of dislocation tangles is observed in α_p boundaries.

Rice is one of the staple crops in Burkina Faso. However, the local production covers only 47% of the population demands. One of the main reasons of the poor productivity in Burkina Faso is iron toxicity which is related mainly to the activity of Iron Reducing Bacteria in the rice field’s ecosystems. In order to control the harmful effects of Iron Reducing Bacterial populations and to improve rice productivity, a pots experiment was conducted at the experimental site of the University Ouaga I Pr. Joseph KI-ZERBO. An iron toxic soil from kou Valley (West of Burkina Faso) and two rice varieties, BOUAKE-189 and ROK-5, sensitive and tolerant to iron toxicity, respectively, were used for the experiment. The pots were drained for 14 days (D2) and amended with chemical fertilizers (NPK + Urea and NPK + Urea + Ca + Mg + Zn complexes). Control pots without drainage and fertilization (D0/NF) were prepared similarly. The kinetics of Iron Reducing Bacterial populations and ferrous iron content in soil near rice roots were monitored throughout the cultural cycle using MPN and colorimetric methods, respectively. The total iron content was evaluated in rice plant using a spectrometric method. Data obtained were analyzed in relation to drainage and fertilization mode, rice growth stage and rice yield using the Student’s t-test and XLSTAT 2014 statistical software. The experiment showed that the combined application of subsurface drainage and NPK + Urea + Ca + Mg + Zn fertilization, reduced significantly the number of IRB in the soil near rice roots for both rice varieties (p = 0.050 and p = 0.020) increased the leaf tissue tolerance to excess amounts of Fe, and rice yield.
