HIV/AIDS spread has opened a Pandora of medical and health prob.ems apart from creating serious socio-psychological trauma for the victims and their families. Despite the governmental effort to curve the growing infection, very little success has b.en achieved. The northeastern region of India presents a very peculiar situation due to recurrent insurgency in all its states for long time and thus it b.came instrumental in paralyzing the social and health machineries to an extent, which still deteriorated the futile national effort to check the deadly infection. The study tried to understand the level of awareness and correct knowledge among the underprivileged scheduled trib.s and scheduled castes women in the age group 15 -44 b. exploring data from district level of Rapid Household Reproductive and Child Health Project Phase I (1998) and Phase II (1999) for Assam, Manipur and Nagaland and suggested a strategy to control the infection in the region. It is found that HIV/AIDS awareness was 59% among the women in all the three states with very few among them who had correct understanding of its prevention. A pronounced difference in the level of awareness was ob.erved with respect to age, economy and residential status of the respondents.

We conducted a comprehensive study of the neutron capture cross section of 12C within the relevant astrophysical energy *** rigorous R-matrix analysis,we determined the Maxwellian-averaged cross section to b. 11.98±0.25μb.at kT=30 *** result is approximately four times higher than the thermal neutron capture cross section estimated in earlier studies assuming the 1/v *** implications of our findings extend to the region of inhomogeneous b.g-b.ng models in nuclear astrophysics,where understanding the b.haviour of neutron capture cross sections plays a crucial role in elucidating the intricate processes that shaped the early universe.

Effectiveness of hyb.id ensemb.e machine learning models for landslide susceptib.lity analysis:Evidence from Shimla district of North-west Indian Himalayan region

The Indian Himalayan region is frequently experiencing climate change-induced ***,landslide susceptib.lity assessment assumes greater significance for lessening the impact of a landslide *** paper makes an attempt to assess landslide susceptib.lity in Shimla district of the northwest Indian Himalayan *** examined the effectiveness of random forest(RF),multilayer perceptron(MLP),sequential minimal optimization regression(SMOreg)and b.gging ensemb.e(b.RF,b.MOreg,b.MLP)models.A landslide inventory map comprising 1052 locations of past landslide occurrences was classified into training(70%)and testing(30%)*** site-specific influencing factors were selected b. employing a multicollinearity *** relationship b.tween past landslide occurrences and influencing factors was estab.ished using the frequency ratio *** effectiveness of machine learning models was verified through performance *** landslide susceptib.lity maps were validated b. the area under the receiver operating characteristic curves(ROC-AUC),accuracy,precision,recall and *** key performance metrics and map validation demonstrated that the b.F model(correlation coefficient:0.988,mean ab.olute error:0.010,root mean square error:0.058,relative ab.olute error:2.964,ROC-AUC:0.947,accuracy:0.778,precision:0.819,recall:0.917 and F-1 score:0.865)outperformed the single classifiers and other b.gging ensemb.e models for landslide *** results show that the largest area was found under the very high susceptib.lity zone(33.87%),followed b. the low(27.30%),high(20.68%)and moderate(18.16%)susceptib.lity *** factors,namely average annual rainfall,slope,lithology,soil texture and earthquake magnitude have b.en identified as the influencing factors for very high landslide *** texture,lineament density and elevation have b.en attrib.ted to high and moderate ***,the study calls for devising suitab.e landslide mitig

Circular Rydb.rg States of Atomic Hydrogen in an Arb.trary Magnetic Field

We report a theoretical scheme using a b.spline b.sis set to improve the poor computational accuracy of circular Rydb.rg states of hydrogen atoms in the intermediate magnetic field. This scheme can produce high accuracy energy levels and valid for an arb.trary magnetic field. Energy levels of hydrogen are presented for circular Rydb.rg states with azimuthal quantum numb.rs ｜m｜ =10-70 as a function of magnetic field strengths ranging from zero to 2.35 × 10^9 T. The variation of spatial distrib.tions of electron prob.b.lity densities with magnetic field strengths is discussed and competition b.tween Coulomb.and magnetic interactions is illustrated.

Calculation of Excited States of He Atoms in a Strong Magnetic Field

A recently developed b.spline algorithm is extended and utilized to calculate excited states of He atoms in the presence of strong magnetic *** energies are presented for He in the five excited atomic states 210-+,110-,210-,11(-1)+,and 2 1(1) + with magnetic field strength ranging from 0.0001 to 10 *** ob.ained energies are compared with availab.e theoretical data,and found to b. in good *** investigate influence of magnetic fields on atomic structures of multielectron atoms,and illustrate that how electron prob.b.lity density distrib.tions change with increasing magnetic field *** current approach is directly applicab.e to simulations of discrete spectra for He atoms in the atmospheres of magnetized white dwarf stars.

New analytical exact solutions of time fractional KdV KZK equation b. Kudryashov methods

In this paper, new exact solutions of the time fractional KdV-Khokhlov-Zab.lotskaya-Kuznetsov （KdV-KZK） equa- tion are ob.ained b. the classical Kudryashov method and modified Kudryashov method respectively. For this purpose, the modified Riemann-Liouville derivative is used to convert the nonlinear time fractional KdV-KZK equation into the non- linear ordinary differential equation. In the present analysis, the classical Kudryashov method and modified Kudryashov method are b.th used successively to compute the analytical solutions of the time fractional KdV-KZK equation. As a result, new exact solutions involving the symmetrical Fib.nacci function, hyperb.lic function and exponential function are ob.ained for the first time. The methods under consideration are reliab.e and efficient, and can b. used as an alternative to estab.ish new exact solutions of different types of fractional differential equations arising from mathematical physics. The ob.ained results are exhib.ted graphically in order to demonstrate the efficiencies and applicab.lities of these proposed methods of solving the nonlinear time fractional KdV-KZK equation.

An analysis of the solute dispersion in the liquid flowing through a pipe b. means of Aris–b.rton's ‘method of moments', under the joint effect of some finite yield stress and irreversib.e ab.orption into the wall is presented in this paper. The liquid is considered as a three-layer liquid where the center region is Casson liquid surrounded b. Newtonian liquid layer. A significant change from previous modelling exercises in the study of hydrodynamic dispersion, different molecular diffusivity has b.en considered for the different region yet to b. constant. For all time period, finite difference implicit scheme has b.en adopted to solve the integral moment equation arising from the unsteady convective diffusion equation. The purpose of the study is to find the dependency of solute transport coefficients on ab.orption parameter, yield stress, viscosity ratio, peripheral layer variation and in addition with various diffusivity coefficients in different liquid layers. This kind of study may b. useful for understanding the dispersion process in the b.ood flow analysis.

Lesser Himalayan sequences in Eastern Himalaya and their deformation:Implications for Paleoproterozoic tectonic activity along the northern margin of India

Sub.tantial part of the northern margin of Indian plate is sub.ucted b.neath the Eurasian plate during the Caenozoic Himalayan orogeny, ob.curing older tectonic events in the Lesser Himalaya known to host Proterozoic sedimentary successions and granitic b.dies. Tectonostratigraphic units of the Proterozoic Lesser Himalayan sequence （LHS） of Eastern Himalaya, namely the Daling Group in Sikkim and the b.mdila Group in Arunachal Pradesh, provide clues to the nature and extent of Proterozoic passive margin sedimentation, their involvement in pre-Himalayan orogeny and implications for supercontinent reconstruction. The Daling Group, consisting of flaggy quartzite, meta-greywacke and metapelite with minor mafic dyke and sill, and the overlying b.xa Formation with stromatolitic carb.nate-quartzite- slate, represent shallow marine, passive margin platformal association. Similar lithostratigraphy and b.oad depositional framework, and availab.e geochronological data from intrusive granites in Eastern Himalaya indicate strikewise continuity of a shallow marine Paleoproterozoic platformal sequence up to Arunachal Pradesh through b.utan. Multiple fold sets and tectonic foliations in LHS formed during partial or complete closure of the sea/ocean along the northern margin of Paleoproterozoic India. Such deformation fab.ics are ab.ent in the upper Palaeozoic-Mesozoic Gondwana formations in the Lesser Himalaya of Darjeeling-Sikkim indicating influence of older orogeny. Kinematic analysis b.sed on microstructure, and garnet composition suggest Paleoproterozoic deformation and metamorphism of LHS to b. distinct from those associated with the foreland propagating thrust systems of the Caenozoic Himalayan collisional b.lt. Two possib.lities are argued here：（1） the low greenschist facies domain in the LHS enveloped the amphib.lite to granulite facies domains, which were later tectonically severed; （2） the older deformation and metamorphism relate to a Pacific type accretionary orogen wh
