In this study,we measured the^(58)Ni(n,p)^(58)Co reaction cross section with neutron energies of 1.06,1.86,and 2.85 *** cross section was measured using neutron activation techniques andγ-ray spectroscopy,and it was compared with cross section data available in the ***,we calculated the covariance matrix of the measured cross section for the aforementioned nuclear *** uncertainties of the theoretical calculation for^(58)Ni(n,p)^(58)Co reaction cross section were calculated via Monte Carlo *** this study,we used uncertainties in the optical model and level density parameters to calculate uncertainties in the theoretical cross *** theoretical calculations were performed by using *** this study,we aim to analyze the effect of uncertainties of the nuclear model input as well as different experimental variables used to obtain the values of reaction cross section.

Salt-tolerant plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria （pGpR） can play an important role in alleviating soil salinity stress during plant growth and bacterial exopolysaccharide （EpS） can also help to mitigate salinity stress by reducing the content of Na＋ available for plant uptake. In this study, native bacterial strains of wheat rhizosphere in soils of Varanasi, India, were screened to identify the EpS-producing salt-tolerant rhizobacteria with plant growth-promoting traits. The various rhizobacteria strains were isolated and identified using 16S rDNA sequencing. The plant growth-promoting effect of inoculation of seedlings with these bacterial strains was evaluated under soil salinity conditions in a pot experiment. Eleven bacterial strains which initially showed tolerance up to 80 g L-1 NaC1 also exhibited an EpS-producing potential. The results suggested that the isolated bacterial strains demonstrated some of the plant growth-promoting traits such as phosphate solubilizing ability and production of auxin, proline, reducing sugars, and total soluble sugars. Furthermore, the inoculated wheat plants had an increased biomass compared to the unoinoculated plants.

This paper introduces some new generalizations of the concept of （~, p）-invexity for non- differentiable locally Lipschitz functions using the tools of Clarke subdifferential. These functions are used to derive the necessary and sufficient optimality conditions for a class of nonsmooth semi-infinite minmax programming problems, where set of restrictions are indexed in a compact set. Utilizing the sufficient optimality conditions, the authors formulate three types of dual models and establish weak and strong duality results. The results of the paper extend and unify naturally some earlier results from the literature.

Nature inspired optimization algorithms have made substantial step towards solving of various engineering and scientific real-life *** achieved for those evolution-ary optimization techniques are due to simplicity and flexibility of algorithm *** this paper,optimal set of filter coefficients are searched by the evolutionary optimiza-tion technique called Opposition-based Differential Evolution(ODE)for solving infinite impulse response(IIR)system identification ***-based numbering con-cept is embedded into the primary foundation of Differential Evolution(DE)technique metaphorically to enhance the convergence speed and the performance for finding the optimal *** population is generated with the evaluation of a solution and its opposite solution by fitness function for choosing potent solutions for each iteration *** this competent population,faster convergence speed and better solution quality are *** and balanced search in multidimensional problem space is accomplished with judiciously chosen control parameters for mutation,crossover and selection adopted in the basic DE *** tested against standard benchmark examples,for same order and reduced order models,the simulation results establish the ODE as a competent candidate to others in terms of accuracy and convergence speed.

The excitation function of the 58Ni(n,p)58Co reaction was measured using the well-established neutron activation technique andγ-ray *** in the energy range of 1.7 to 2.7 MeV were generated using the 7Li(p,n)*** neutron flux was measured using the standard 115In(n,n’)115mIn monitor *** results of the neutron spectrum averaged cross-section of 58Ni(n,p)58Co reactions were compared with existing cross-section data available in the EXFOR data library as well as with various evaluated data libraries such as ENDF/B-VIII.0,JEFF-3.3,JENDL-4.0,and *** calculations were performed using the nuclear reaction code *** nuclear level density(NLD)models were tested,and their results were compared with the present *** NLDs were also obtained through the spectral distribution method(SDM).The cross-section results,along with the absolute errors,were obtained by investigating the uncertainty propagation and using the covariance *** forγ-ray true coincidence summing,low-energy background neutrons,andγ-ray self attenuation were *** experimental cross-section obtained in the present study is consistent with previously published experimental data,evaluated libraries,and theoretical calculations carried out using the TALYS code.

Geant4 based Monte Carlo study has been carried out to assess the improvement in efficiency of the planar structure of Silicon Carbide(SiC)-based semiconductor fast neutron detector with the stacked structure. A proton recoil detector was simulated, which consists of hydrogenous converter, i.e., high-density polyethylene(HDpE) for generating recoil protons by means of neutron elastic scattering(n, p) reaction and semiconductor material SiC, for generating a detectable electrical signal upon transport of recoil protons through it. SiC is considered in order to overcome the various factors associated with conventional Si-based devices such as operability in a harsh radiation environment, as often encountered in nuclear facilities. Converter layer thickness is optimized by considering 10~9 neutron events of different monoenergetic neutron sources as well as ^(241)Am-Be neutron spectrum. It is found that the optimized thickness for neutron energy range of 1–10 MeV is ~400 μm. However, the efficiency of fast neutron detection is estimated to be only 0.112%,which is considered very low for meaningful and reliable detection of neutrons. To overcome this problem, a stacked juxtaposition of converter layer between SiC layers has been analyzed in order to achieve high efficiency. It is noted that a tenfold efficiency improvement has been obtained—1.04% for 10 layers stacked configuration vis-à-vis 0.112% of single converter layer detector. Further simulation of the stacked detector with respect to variable converter thickness has been performed to achieve the efficiency as high as ~3.85% with up to 50 stacks.

The research was conducted on the stability assessment of emulsion of carotenoids extracted from carrot-pomace in omega-3 rich flaxseed oil,followed by converting this emulsion into freeze-dried powder,and its application as natural functional colorant in the preparation of flavored *** study indicated that emulsion was stable over a range of pH (5–9),temperature (forewarming to HTST pasteurization) and ionic strength (0.1–0.75 M NaCl) except at pH 4,sterilization temperature and 1.0 M NaCl based on zeta potential and particle size of emulsion analysed at these *** percent (out of 8,10 and 12%) of freeze-dried emulsion was selected for addition as a natural functional ingredient in flavored milk on the basis of organoleptic *** fat,protein,total solids,total carotenoid content and antioxidant value (in terms of ABTS and reducing power assay) of developed product were significantly higher (p p ped product,while reverse was true for yellowness ***,both the products showed total color difference of *** research concludes that carotenoid-rich emulsion can be efficiently freeze-dried and used as a functional natural colorant in flavored milk for providing it better bio-functional attributes over control.

This study aims at exploring the technical efficiency of lum- ber industry in northwestern Ontario, Canada using data envelopment analysis （DEA）. The DEA model analyzes relative technical efficiency of lumber mills with disproportionate inputs and outputs by dividing the 10- year time series data, for inputs and outputs of 24 lumber mills, over two periods （1999-2003 and 2004-2008）. Four inputs, namely, material （log volume）, labour （man-hours）, two types of energy （hog-fuel and electric- ity）, and one output （lumber volume） are used in this study. The trend analysis shows an annual reduction of 10%, 13% and 13% for lumber output, log consumption （input） and number of employees, respectively, during the period 1999-2008. The results from DEA with two scenarios with energy inputs and without energy inputs, for the two periods are found to be mixed and interesting. While some mills have improved their performance in terms of best use of available scarce inputs in the second period, some have shown negative per cent change in efficiency. In the with energy input and the without energy input scenario, some of the mills show a reduction in efficiency in the second period from the first period, with the highest estimated reductions of-13.9% and -47.6%, respectively. A possible explanation for these negative performances of mills in the latter period is the decline in production in the second period compared to the first period, where these mills were not able to adjust their inputs （mostly labour） as proportional lay-offs might not have been possible. These results provide policy makers and industry stakeholders with an improved understanding of the trends of efficiency and employ- ment as well as reallocation opportunities of future inputs in order to increase benefits from this sector.
