Remaining Useful Life Prediction for a Roller in a Hot Strip Mill Based on Deep Recurrent Neural Networks

Accurate estimation of the remaining useful life(RUL)and health state for rollers is of great significance to hot rolling *** can provide decision support for roller management so as to improve the productivity of the hot rolling *** addition,the RUL prediction for rollers is helpful in transitioning from the current regular maintenance strategy to conditional-based ***,a new method that can extract coarse-grained and fine-grained features from batch data to predict the RUL of the rollers is proposed in this ***,a new deep learning network architecture based on recurrent neural networks that can make full use of the extracted coarsegrained fine-grained features to estimate the heath indicator(HI)is developed,where the HI is able to indicate the health state of the *** that,a state-space model is constructed to describe the HI,and the probabilistic distribution of RUL can be estimated by extrapolating the HI degradation model to a predefined failure ***,application to a hot strip mill is given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed methods using data collected from an industrial site,and the relatively low RMSE and MAE values demonstrate its advantages compared with some other popular deep learning methods.

Distributed Nash equilibrium seeking of aggregative games is investigated and a continuous-time algorithm is *** algorithm is designed by virtue of projected gradient play dynamics and aggregation tracking dynamics,and is applicable to games with constrained strategy sets and weight-balanced communication *** key feature of our method is that the proposed projected dynamics achieves exponential convergence,whereas such convergence results are only obtained for non-projected dynamics in existing works on distributed optimization and equilibrium *** examples illustrate the effectiveness of our methods.

Routh table test for stability of commensurate fractional degree polynomials and their commensurate fractional order systems

A Routh table test for stability of commensurate fractional degree polynomials and their commensurate fractional order systems is presented via an auxiliary integer degree polynomial. The presented Routh test is a classical Routh table test on the auxiliary integer degree polynomial derived from and for the commensurate fractional degree polynomial. The theoretical proof of this proposed approach is provided by utilizing Argument principle and Cauchy index. Illustrative examples show efficiency of the presented approach for stability test of commensurate fractional degree polynomials and commensurate fractional order systems. So far, only one Routh-type test approach [1] is available for the commensurate fractional degree polynomials in the literature. Thus, this classical Routh-type test approach and the one in [1] both can be applied to stability analysis and design for the fractional order systems, while the one presented in this paper is easy for peoples, who are familiar with the classical Routh table test, to use.

Usury,Market Power and Poverty Traps:A Study of Rural Credit in 1930s'China

This paper studies the cross-regional variation of interest rates in China in the 1930s. Based on county-level data from the Buck (1941) rural surveys, we examine factors that may have influenced rural interest rates in pre-1949 China. Since the quality of institutions that define property rights and facilitate contract enforcement is important for such transactions as land tenancy arrangements, we treat land tenancy rate (or percentage of owner-farmers) as a proxy for institutional quality. Contrary to the popular belief among historians and economists that usury or high interest rates caused persistent poverty, we find that while the monopoly-exploitation hypothesis has little explanatory power, a region’s institutional quality and income level are persistent and significant determinants of interest rates. Thus, poverty is a key driver of high rates of interest. Economic growth and the development of market institutions are crucial for lowering high interest rates and combating usury.

Explainable machine learning model for predicting molten steel temperature in the LF refining process

Accurate prediction of molten steel temperature in the ladle furnace(LF)refining process has an important influence on the quality of molten steel and the control of steelmaking *** research on establishing models to predict molten steel temperature has been ***,most researchers focus solely on improving the accuracy of the model,neglecting its *** present study aims to develop a high-precision and explainable model with improved reliability and *** eXtreme gradient boosting(XGBoost)and light gradient boosting machine(LGBM)were utilized,along with bayesian optimization and grey wolf optimiz-ation(GWO),to establish the prediction *** performance evaluation metrics and graphical representations were applied to compare the optimal XGBoost and LGBM models obtained through varying hyperparameter optimization methods with the other *** findings indicated that the GWO-LGBM model outperformed other methods in predicting molten steel temperature,with a high pre-diction accuracy of 89.35%within the error range of±5°*** model’s learning/decision process was revealed,and the influence degree of different variables on the molten steel temperature was clarified using the tree structure visualization and SHapley Additive exPlana-tions(SHAP)***,the explainability of the optimal GWO-LGBM model was enhanced,providing reliable support for prediction results.

Quality-related fault detection attracted more and more attention in quality control and process monitoring. In recent literature, reconstruction based contributions （RBC） are used for isolating faulty variables which affect product quality. If datasets of known faults are available, fault-specific RBCs are used to identify fault types. Otherwise, variable RBCs are used to isolate faulty variables. However, the existing generalized RBC are quite improvable. On one side, fault-specific RBC can not tell faulty variables, which makes it hard to locate fault root. On the other side, it is well known that the variable RBC suffers a lot from the smearing effect, which provides too many candidates of faulty variables. In the present work, a new usage of RBC is derived to select faulty variables without smearing effect on non- faulty variables. The benchmark examples of Tennessee Eastman （TE） process is used to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed approach for quality-related fault diagnosis.

H~∞ Theory and its Application to the Position of Rolling Mill Control System

The controller designed according to classical or modern control theory will not satisfy the performance requirements when the controlled object in industrial field can not be described by exact mathematical model or the disturbance of the controlled system. In order to make the controlled system stable and having good performance, H∞ control theory was put forward to solve this practical problem. Taking the position of a rolling mill as the controlled object, it was rectified by optimal engineering way. Then, three different plans were put forward according to Bang-Bang control, LQ control and H∞ control, respectively. The result of the simulation shows that the controller designed according to H∞ method whose robust performance and ability to restrain colors disturbance is satisfactory.

为了优化基于数据驱动的嵌入式故障诊断滤波器设计,采用KPI(key performance index)思想设计FDI(fault detection and isolation)残差,研究基于m DOs观测器的闭环Kalman滤波器设计方法,实现故障诊断和系统状态的有效观测.首先,基于采样数据得到大型复杂系统的KPI子空间模型,定义了跟踪误差,得到了闭环滤波器;其次,将残差序列表示为Hankel模型,通过定义正交投影补矩阵并选择恰当的数据列,构建出新的阈值矩阵;最后,得到Kalman滤波增益的计算方法,并给出了最优Kalman滤波器的设计步骤.结果表明,优化后残差的幅值降低至优化前的1/2.基于数据驱动的KPI系统最优滤波器设计,可提高对弱小故障监测的灵敏度,实现系统状态估计和故障诊断的性能优化.

崇祯十五年(1642)京师被围,太仓匮竭,外解难进,遂有以两淮盐课为抵押,借兑客标之议。本文的考证表明,这次借兑客商标银虽然以兑会的形式落实,但仍收到一定成效,是明末财政中颇有新意但未受到关注的公债尝试。同时,这一尝试的背景是晚明运河一带的南北银流带动了商业汇兑,催生出了以“年标”为标志的标期制度。政府的兑会方案既借鉴了以往大一统财政的实践,也引入了商业金融中的新元素。尽管客标兑会并不足以开启晚明的财政转型,也未带来时局的改观,但它的推行过程反映了皇帝与官僚集团对晚明经济及国家债信的认识程度以及经济转型下国家与商人关系的变迁,也为理解明清金融业的发展路径提供了新线索。
