Genotype imputation has become an indispensable part of genomic data analysis. In recent years, imputation based on a multi-breed reference population has received more attention, but the relevant studies are scarce in pigs. In this study, we used the Illumina Porcine SNP50 Bead Chip to investigate the variations of imputation accuracy with various influencing factors and compared the imputation performance of four commonly used imputation software programs. The results indicated that imputation accuracy increased as either the validation population marker density, reference population sample size, or minor allele frequency(MAF) increased. However, the imputation accuracy would have a certain extent of decrease when the pig reference population was a mixed group of multiple breeds or lines. Considering both imputation accuracy and running time, Beagle 4.1 and FImpute are excellent choices among the four software packages tested. This work visually presents the impacts of these influencing factors on imputation and provides a reference for formulating reasonable imputation strategies in actual pig breeding.

Lifting for handling and flatbed truck transportation to the job site are important processes during manufacture of prefabricated wooden construction units like mini homes and building modules. Significant damage can occur to sections or components of units during these operations. Although damage usually will not impair its structural safety, it is costly to fix and causes the public to perceive prefabricated wooden buildings as low quality products. Field observations and preliminary numerical models for prefabricated units subject to lifting and transportation forces are summarized here. Once fully developed and verified, models will support the creation of damage mitigation strategies centered on structural details indicating how units are to be supported during lifting and transportation.

Hepatic sinusoidal obstruction syndrome(HSOS)via exposure to pyrrolizidine alkaloids(PAs)is with high mortality and there is no effective treatment in *** bile powder(BBP)is a famous traditional animal drug for curing a variety of hepatobiliary diseases such as cholestasis,inflammation,and ***,we aim to evaluate the protective effect of BBP against HSOS induced by senecionine,a highly hepatotoxic PA *** results showed that BBP treatment protected mice from senecionine-induced HSOS dose-dependently,which was evident by improved liver histology including reduced infiltration of inflammatory cells and collagen positive cells,alleviated intrahepatic hemorrhage and hepatic sinusoidal endothelial cells,as well as decreased conventional serum liver function *** addition,BBP treatment lowered matrix metalloproteinase 9 and pyrrole-protein adducts,two well-known markers positively associated with the severity of PA-induced *** investigation showed that BBP treatment prevents the development of liver fibrosis by decreasing transforming growth factor beta and downstream fibrotic *** treatment also alleviated senecionine-induced liver inflammation and lowered the pro-inflammatory cytokines,in which taurours-odeoxycholic acid played an important ***’s more,BBP treatment also decreased the accumulation of hydrophobic bile acids,such as cholic acid,taurocholic acid,glycocholic acid,as *** concluded that BBP attenuates senecionine-induced HSOS in mice by repairing the bile acids homeostasis,preventing liver fibrosis,and alleviating liver *** present study helps to pave the way to therapeutic approaches of the treatment of PA-induced liver injury in clinics.

AIM: To determine the effects of BN52021 on platelet-activating factor receptor (PAFR) signaling molecules under lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced inflammatory conditions in MS1 cells. METHODS: MS1 cells (a mouse pancreatic islet endothelial cell line) were grown in Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum, 2 mmol/L glutamine and 100 μg/mL penicillin/streptomycin in 5% CO 2 at 37 ℃. After growth to confluency in media, the cells were processed for subsequent studies. The MS1 cells received 0, 0.1, 1 and 10 μg/mL LPS in this experiment. The viability/prolifera-tion of the cells induced by LPS was observed using a 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide colorimetric assay. Apoptosis and necrosis of the cells under the inflammatory condition described previously were observed using Hoechst 33342-propidium iodide staining. Adenylate cyclase (AC), phospholipase A 2 (PLA 2 ), phospholipase Cβ (PLCβ), protein tyrosine kinase (PTK), G protein-coupled receptor kinases (GRK) and p38-mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38 MAPK) mRNA in the PAFR signaling pathway were measured by real-time polymerase chain reaction. The protein expression level of phosphorylated AC (p-AC), phosphorylated PLA 2 (p-PLA 2 ), phosphorylated PTK (p-PTK), phosphorylated p38 MAPK (p-p38 MAPK), PLCβ and GRK was measured using Western blotting analysis. RESULTS: The activity of MS1 cells incubated with dif- ferent concentrations of LPS for 6 h decreased significantly in the 1 μg/mL LPS group (0.49 ± 0.10 vs 0.67 ± 0.13, P < 0.05) and 10 μg/mL LPS group (0.44 ± 0.10 vs 0.67 ± 0.13, P < 0.001), but not in 0.1 μg/mL group. When the incubation time was extended to 12 h (0.33 ± 0.05, 0.32 ± 0.03 and 0.25 ± 0.03 vs 0.69 ± 0.01) and 24 h (0.31 ± 0.01, 0.29 ± 0.03 and 0.25 ± 0.01 vs 0.63 ± 0.01), MS1 cell activity decreased in all LPS concentration groups compared with the blank control (P < 0.001). Several novel mono（β-enaminoketonato） vanadium complexes bearing constrained [（C6Hs）C6H3C（O）=C（CH2）nCH=N-Ar]VCl2（THF）2 （V3a： n = 1, Ar = C6H5; V4a： n = 2, Ar cyclic skeleton, including C6H5; V4b： n = 2, Ar C6F5; V4c： n = 2, Ar = （C3H7）2C6H3; V5a： n = 3, Ar = C6H5）, were synthesized and their structure and properties were characterized. The structures of V4c and V5a in solid-state were further confirmed by X-ray crystallographic analysis. Density functional theory （DFT） results indicated that these complexes showed enhanced steric hindrance around the metal center as compared with the acyclic analogues. Upon activation with Et2AlCl and in the presence of ethyl trichloroacetate as a reactivator, all of the complexes exhibited high catalytic activities （107 gPE/（molv.h）） toward ethylene polymerization, and the obtained polymers exhibited unimodal distributions （Mw/Mn = 2.0-2.3） even produced at elevated temperatures （70-100 ℃） and prolonged reaction time. When MAO was employed as a cocatalyst, they only showed moderate catalytic activities （10^5 gPE/（molv·h））, but the resulting polymers had higher molecular weights （168-241 kg/mol）. These vanadium complexes with cyclic skeleton also showed high catalytic activities toward ethylene/norbornene copolymerization. The produced copolymers displayed approximate alternating structure at high in-feed concentration of norbornene. The catalytic capabilities of these complexes could be tuned conveniently by varying ligand structure. Furthermore, the cyclic voltammetry results also proved that these complexes exhibited better redox stabilities than the complexes bearing linear skeleton.

A novel and facile seed-mediated method for the preparation of monodispersed gold nanorods(GNRs) is presented by introducing pyrogallol as a reductant. Fast Fourier transformation of high-resolution transmission electron microscopy reveals that the synthesized GNRs are single crystalline. The longitudinal surface plasmon resonance of GNRs can be finely tuned by varying silver ion concentrations or seed amounts. Also, both thick(diameter >30 nm) and thin(diameter <10 nm) GNRs with exceptional monodispersity can be well prepared by this method. These findings indicate that this method has a greater performance in controlling the morphology of GNRs than that of traditional approach with ascorbic acid as a reductant.
