Polymerization of amyloid-β peptide （Aβ） into amyloid fibrils is a critical step in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer＇s disease （AD）. Inhibition of Aβ aggregation and destabilization of preformed Aβ fibrils have promising effects against AD and have been used in clinic trials. Herein, we demonstrate, for the first time, the application of WS2 nanosheets, to not only effectively inhibit Aβ aggregation, but also dissociate preformed Aβ aggregates upon near infrared （NIR） irradiation. Additionally, the biocompatible WS2 nanosheets possess the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier （BBB） to overcome the limitations of most previously reported Aβ inhibitors. Through van der Waals and electrostatic interactions between Aβ40 and WS2, Aβ40 monomers can be selectively adsorbed on the surface of the nanosheet to inhibit the Aβ40 aggregation process. Intriguingly, the unique high NIR absorption property of WS2 enables amyloid aggregates to be dissolved upon NIR irradiation. These results will promote biological applications of WS2 and provide new insight into the design of multifunctional nanomaterials for AD treatment.

We study the lattice QCDΛ_(c)N phase shifts for the^(3)S_(1)-^(3)D_(1)coupled channel using both the leading order covariant chiral effective theory and the next-to-leading order non-relativistic chiral effective field theory(ChEFT).We show that although it is possible to describe simultaneously the^(3)S_(1)and^(3)D_(1)phase shifts and the inelasticityη_(1),the fitted energy range is quite small,only up to E_(c.m.)=5 *** raises concerns regarding the consistency between leading/next-to-leading order ChEFT and the lattice QCD simulations.

In recent years,graphics processing units(GPUs)have been applied to accelerate Monte Carlo(MC)simulations for proton dose calculation in ***,current GPU platforms,such as Compute Unified Device Architecture(CUDA)and Open Computing Language(OpenCL),suffer from cross-platform limitation or relatively high programming ***,the Taichi toolkit,which was developed to overcome these difficulties,has been successfully applied to high-performance numerical *** on the class II condensed history simulation scheme with various proton-nucleus interactions,we developed a GPU-accelerated MC engine for proton transport using the Taichi *** distributions in homogeneous and heterogeneous geometries were calculated for 110,160,and 200 MeV protons and were compared with those obtained by full MC simulations using *** gamma passing rates were greater than 0.99 and 0.95 with criteria of 2 mm,2%and 1 mm,1%,respectively,in all the benchmark ***,the calculation speed was at least 5800 times faster than that of TOPAS,and the number of lines of code was approximately 10 times less than those of CUDA or *** study provides a highly accurate,efficient,and easy-to-use proton dose calculation engine for fast prototyping,beamlet calculation,and education purposes.

The recursive least-square (RLS) algorithm has been extensively used in adaptive identification, prediction, filtering, and many other fields. This paper proposes adding a second-difference term to the standard recurrent formula to create a novel method for improving tracing capabilities. Test results show that this can greatly improve the convergence capability of RLS algorithms.

To investigate the oxidation behavior of a nickel-based superalloy with high hafnium content(1.34 wt%),this study performed isothermal oxidation tests at 900,1000,and 1100℃for up to 200 h.X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy were applied to study the oxidation *** weight gain of the high Hf nickel-based superalloy exhibited a parabolalike curve,and no spallation of the oxide scale was observed during the oxidation *** alloy presented excellent oxidation resistance,and no HfO_(2) was observed in the oxide scale at 900℃.With the increase of the oxidation temperature to 1000℃,HfO_(2) particles formed in the spinel phases of the scale,and"peg-like"HfO_(2) was observed within and beneath the inner layer of Al2O_(3) after *** the oxidation temperature rose to 1100℃,"peg-like"HfO_(2) was observed at the early stage of the oxidation test(within 25 h).The formation mechanism of HfO_(2) and its impact on oxidation resistance were investigated based on the analysis of the oxidation test results at different temperatures.

Recently,a relativistic chiral nucleon-nucleon interaction was formulated up to leading order,which provides a good description of the phase shifts of J≤1 partial waves[***.C 42(2018)014103].Nevertheless,a separable regulator function that is not manifestly covariant was used in solving the relativistic scattering *** the present work,we first explore a covariant and separable form factor to regularize the kernel potential and then apply it to study the simplest but most challenging ^(1)S_(0) channel which features several lowenergy *** addition to being self-consistent,we show that the resulting relativistic potential can describe quite well the unique features of the ^(1)S_(0) channel at leading order,in particular the pole position of the virtual bound state and the zero amplitude at the scattering momentum ~340 MeV,indicating that the relativistic formulation may be more natural from the viewpoint of effective field theories.

Single-crystal rods with different diameters and deviation angles with respect to the solidification direction were produced by Bridgman rapid solidification method at withdrawal rates of 3 and 6 mm·min^(-1) and used as grain *** crystallographic orientation of the rods,which cross-sections were perpendicular to the solidification direction at different solidification heights,was measured by electron backscattered diffraction,while the corresponding microstructures were observed by optical *** mushy zone morphology and the distribution of the temperature gradient were simulated by the finite element analysis software *** experimental results indicate that the crystallographic orientation of the single-crystal rods corresponds to the statistical average value of all the dendrite orientations in *** crystallographic orientation of the primary and secondary dendrites of each single-crystal rod at different cross-sections fluctuates irregularly within a small range(less than 4°).The crystallographic orientation of the dendrite in each single-crystal rod is not exactly consistent with each other and is affected by their branching mode of dendrites in the solidification *** addition,the simulation results show that the mushy zone shapes and the temperature gradient of single-crystal rods change with the increase of solidification height during the solidification ***,the evolution mechanism of the crystallographic orientations and the corresponding influence factors were analyzed and discussed.

BACKGROUND Eosinophilic gastroenteritis(EGE)is a chronic recurrent disease with abnormal eosinophilic infiltration in the gastrointestinal *** remain the most common treatment ***,disease relapse and glucocorticoid dependence remain notable *** date,few studies have illuminated the prognosis of EGE and risk factors for disease *** To describe the clinical characteristics of EGE and possible predictive factors for disease relapse based on long-term *** This was a retrospective cohort study of 55 patients diagnosed with EGE admitted to one medical center between 2013 and *** records were collected and ***-Meier curves and log-rank tests were conducted to reveal the risk factors for long-term relapse-free survival(RFS).RESULTS EGE showed a median onset age of 38 years and a slight female predominance(56.4%).The main clinical symptoms were abdominal pain(89.1%),diarrhea(61.8%),nausea(52.7%),distension(49.1%)and vomiting(47.3%).Forty-three(78.2%)patients received glucocorticoid treatment,and compared with patients without glucocorticoid treatments,they were more likely to have elevated serum immunoglobin E(IgE)(86.8%vs 50.0%,P=0.022)and descending duodenal involvement(62.8%vs 27.3%,P=0.046)at *** a median follow-up of 67 mo,all patients survived,and 56.4%had at least one *** variables at baseline might have been associated with the overall RFS rate,including age at diagnosis24 kg/m^(2)(HR 0.3922,95%CI:0.1916-0.8027,P=0.014),disease duration from symptom onset to diagnosis>3.5 mo(HR 2.4725,95%CI:1.220-5.0110,P=0.011),vomiting(HR 3.1259,95%CI:1.5246-6.4093,P=0.001),total serum IgE>300 KU/L at diagnosis(HR 0.2773,95%CI:0.1204-0.6384,P=0.022)and glucocorticoid treatment(HR 6.1434,95%CI:2.8446-13.2676,P=0.003).CONCLUSION In patients with EGE,younger onset age,longer disease c

We study the baryon-baryon interactions with strangeness S=-2 and corresponding momentum correlation functions in leading order covariant chiral effective field *** relevant low energy constants are determined by fitting to the latest HAL QCD simulations,taking into account all the coupled *** the so-obtained strong interactions to the physical point and considering both quantum statistical effects and the Coulomb interaction,we calculate the ΛΛ and Ξ^(-)p correlation functions with a spherical Gaussian source and compare them with recent experimental *** find a good agreement between our predictions and the experimental measurements by using the source radius determined in proton-proton correlations,which demonstrates the consistency between theory,experiment,and lattice QCD ***,we predict the Σ^(+)Σ^(+),Σ^(+)Λ,and Σ^(+)Σ^(-) interactions and corresponding momentum correlation *** further investigate the influence of the source shape and size of the hadron pair on the correlation functions studied and show that the current data are not very sensitive to the source *** experimental measurements of the predicted momentum correlation functions will provide a non-trivial test of not only SU(3) flavor symmetry and its breaking but also the baryon-baryon interactions derived in covariant chiral effective field theory.
