The high-fidelity(HiFi)long-read sequencing technology developed by PacBio has greatly improved the base-level accuracy of genome ***,these assemblies still contain base-level errors,particularly within the error-prone regions of HiFi long *** genome polishing tools usually introduce overcorrections and haplotype switch errors when correcting errors in genomes assembled from HiFi long ***,we describe an upgraded genome polishing tool-NextPolish2,which can fix base errors remaining in those“highly accurate”genomes assembled from HiFi long reads without introducing excessive overcorrections and haplotype switch *** believe that NextPolish2 has a great significance to further improve the accuracy of telomere-to-telomere(T2T)***2 is freely available at https://***/Nextomics/NextPolish2.

AIM:To investigate the association between central serous chorioretinopathy(CSC)and Helicobacter pylori(Hp)by summarizing all available ***:The Scopus,Embase,EBSCO,PubMed,Web of Science,and Cochrane Library databases for all relevant studies published from inception to October 2022 were searched,and manually searched for relevant reference lists as a *** investigating the association between CSC and Hp infection were ***,8 case-control studies were included in the Meta-analysis after study ***:The results showed no significant correlation between Hp infection and CSC[odds ratio(OR)1.89,95%confidential interval(CI)0.58–6.15,I2=96%,P=0.29].After subgroup analysis based on the degree of development of the study(developing/developed countries),it was found that the results of the two subgroups were the same as the whole,and no significant difference between the two subgroups ***-regression showed that the effect of sample size on heterogeneity among studies was more prominent(P<0.01,adjusted R^(2)=89.72%),which can explain 89.72%of the sources of ***:This Meta-analysis reveals no significant correlation between Hp infection and CSC,which still warrants further well-designed extensive sample studies to reach a more reliable conclusion and promote a better understanding of the treatment of CSC.

In recent years, the demand direction for electronic equipment has expanded into embedded and miniaturized devices. The heat radiation problem has become one of the most significant factors for hindering the development of electronic devices. Since heat radiation material is one of the important components in electronic devices, the demand for enhancing thermal conductivity is also increasingly urgent. Research on thermal conductive polymer composites has become a major direction for developing functional composites. This work reviewed the recent progress in the fabrication of thermal conductive polymer composites. Five different structures are presented, including the using of single fillers,hybrid fillers, double threshold percolation structure, segregated structure and other complex multiphase structures. The rice false smut disease, caused by Ustilaginoidea virens, has emerged as a significantglobal threat to rice production. The mechanism of carbon catabolite repression plays a crucial role in theefficient utilization of carbon nutrients and enzyme regulation in the presence of complex nutritionalconditions. Although significant progress has been made in understanding carbon catabolite repression infungi such as Aspergillus nidulans and Magnaporthe oryzae, its role in U. virens remains unclear. Toaddress this knowledge gap, we identified UvCreA, a pivotal component of carbon catabolite repression,in U. virens. Our investigation revealed that UvCreA localized to the nucleus. Deletion of UvCreA resultedin decreased growth and pathogenicity in U. virens. Through RNA-seq analysis, it was found that theknockout of UvCreA led to the up-regulation of 514 genes and down-regulation of 640 genes. Moreover,UvCreA was found to be involved in the transcriptional regulation of pathogenic genes and genesassociated with carbon metabolism in U. virens. In summary, our findings indicated that UvCreA isimportant in fungal development, virulence, and the utilization of carbon sources through transcriptionalregulation, thus making it a critical element of carbon catabolite repression.

Preparation and Tribological Properties of Onion-like Carbon/Waterborne Polyurethane Coatings

Rice husk powder was used as a carbon source in a high-temperature carbonization reaction for the production of rice husk ash(RHA).Under the catalysis of ferric nitrate,onion-like carbon(OLC)nanomaterial with a particle size of approximately 200 nm was successfully prepared and incorporated into waterborne polyurethane(WPU).The tribological properties of the coatings were determined using a controlled-atmosphere tribometer(WMT-2E)under dry-friction *** the friction test,the friction mechanism was investigated by characterizing the abrasive spot surfaces of the test samples using 3D laser microscopy and scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive *** final results demonstrated that the thermal stability of WPU composite coatings containing various concentrations of OLC nanoparticles was significantly enhanced,binding forces between coatings and steel sheets increased,and hardness improved compared to pure WPU *** tests revealed a notable enhancement in the anti-wear properties of WPU coatings due to the presence of OLC ***,the wear rate of the 1.5%OLC/WPU coating was reduced by 45.3%.The coating’s anti-wear mechanism was attributed to the improvement in the mechanical properties of WPU due to OLC,as well as OLC’s participation in the formation of a transfer film under induced friction,which protected the matrix.
