Intermittent melena and refractory anemia due to jejunal cavernous lymphangioma:A case report

BACKGROUND Lymphangiomas in the gastrointestinal tract are extremely rare in *** a benign lesion,small intestine lymphangiomas often remain asymptomatic and pose challenges for definitive ***,lymphangiomas can give rise to complications such as abdominal pain,bleeding,volvulus,and ***,we report a case of jejunal cavernous lymphangioma that presented with intermittent melena and refractory anemia in a male *** SUMMARY A 66-year-old man presented with intermittent melena,fatigue and refractory anemia nine months *** and colonoscopy were performed many times and revealed no apparent *** management,including transfusion,hemostasis,gastric acid secretion inhibition and symptomatic treatment,was performed,but the lesions tended to recur shortly after ***,the patient underwent capsule endoscopy,which revealed a more than 10 cm lesion accompanied by active *** singleballoon enteroscopy and biopsy,a diagnosis of jejunal cavernous lymphangioma was confirmed,and the patient underwent surgical *** complications or recurrences were observed *** Jejunal cavernous lymphangioma should be considered a cause of obscure gastrointestinal *** endoscopy and single-balloon enteroscopy can facilitate *** resection is an effective management method.

Nitrogen-doped carbon dots as photocatalysts for organic synthesis:Effect of nitrogen content on catalytic activity

Regulating the doping of carbon dots(CDs)and the generation of reactive oxygen species(ROS)is essential to selectively control their application in photocatalytic organic *** study successfully synthesized five newly developed nitrogen-doped carbon dots(CDs 1-5)with varying nitrogen content,which have the ability to generate ROS when exposed to light radiation,specifically superoxide anion radicals(O_(2)•-)and singlet oxygen(^(1)O_(2)).The utilization of the aforementioned nitrogen-doped CDs as photocatalysts enables the realization of their potential in facilitating efficient photocatalytic organic ***,it was observed that the photocatalytic efficiency exhibited a gradual decrease when the nitrogen content in the CDs *** order to provide more evidence for this claim,we employed a set of five CDs in the context of photocatalytic dehalogenation ofα-bromoacetophenone,photocatalytic oxidative coupling reaction of amines to imines,photooxidation reaction of sulfides to sulfoxides,and cross-dehydrogenation coupling(CDC)reaction,in which it was further observed that there was a steady decrease in the yields of photocatalytic organic reactions as the nitrogen content in CDs ***,CDs 1 exhibited the best photocatalytic efficiency,thereby reinforcing the hypothesis that a higher nitrogen content corresponds to a decreased catalytic *** study not only investigates the impact of the nitrogen content on the catalytic performance of CDs,but also offers valuable insights for the future utilization of CDs for photocatalytic organic reactions in water.

Adsorption behavior of CO2/H2S mixtures in calcite slit nanopores for CO2 storage:An insight from molecular perspective

It is acknowledged that injecting CO2into oil reservoirs and saline aquifers for storage is a practical and affordable method for *** CO2produced from industrial exhaust contains impurity gases such as H2S that might impact CO2sequestration due to competitive *** study makes a commendable effort to explore the adsorption behavior of CO2/H2S mixtures in calcite slit *** Canonical Monte Carlo（GCMC） simulation is employed to reveal the adsorption of CO2,H2S as well as their binary mixtures in calcite *** show that the increase in pressure and temperature can promote and inhibit the adsorption capacity of CO2and H2S in calcite nanopores,***2exhibits stronger adsorption on calcite surface than *** energy plays the dominating role in the adsorption *** energy accounts for 97.11% of the CO2-calcite interaction energy and 56.33% of the H2S-calcite interaction energy at 10 MPa and 323.15 *** presence of H2S inhibits the CO2adsorption in calcite nanopores due to competitive adsorption,and a higher mole fraction of H2S leads to less *** quantity of CO2adsorbed is lessened by approximately 33% when the mole fraction of H2S reaches ***2molecules preferentially occupy the regions near the po re wall and H2S molecules tend to reside at the center of nanopore even when the molar ratio of CO2is low,indicating that CO2has an adsorption priority on the calcite surface over *** addition,moisture can weaken the adsorption of both CO2and H2S,while CO2is more *** interestingly,we find that pure CO2is more suitable to be sequestrated in the shallower formations,i.e.,500-1500 m,whereas CO2with H2S impurity should be settled in the deeper reservoirs.

Preparation and Reinforcement Adaptability of Jute Fiber Reinforced Magnesium Phosphate Cement Based Composite Materials

To improve the brittleness characteristics of magnesium phosphate cement-based materials(MPC)and to promote its promotion and application in the field of structural reinforcement and repair,this study aimed to increase the toughness of MPC by adding jute fiber,explore the effects of different amounts of jute fiber on the working and mechanical properties of MPC,and prepare jute fiber reinforced magnesium phosphate cement-based materials(JFRMPC)to reinforce damaged *** improvement effect of beam performance before and after reinforcement was compared,and the strengthening and toughening mechanisms of jute fiber on MPC were explored through microscopic *** experimental results show that,as the content of jute fiber(JF)increases,the fluidity and setting time of MPC decrease continuously;When the content of jute fiber is 0.8%,the compressive strength,flexural strength,and bonding strength of MPC at 28 days reach their maximum values,which are increased by 18.0%,20.5%,and 22.6%compared to those of M0,*** beam strengthened with JFRMPC can withstand greater deformation,with a deflection of 2.3 times that of the unreinforced beam at *** strain of the steel bar is greatly reduced,and the initial crack and failure loads of the reinforced beam are increased by 192.1%and 16.1%,respectively,compared to those of the unreinforced *** JF added to the MPC matrix dissipates energy through tensile fracture and debonding pull-out,slowing down stress concentration and inhibiting the free development of cracks in the matrix,enabling JFRMPC to exhibit higher strength and better *** JF does not cause the hydration of MPC to generate new compounds but reduces the amount of hydration products generated.

Crystal phase control and ignition properties of HNS/CL-20 composite microspheres prepared by microfluidics combined with emulsification techniques

Improved controllability and energy density of ignition agents are of great significance for the devel-opment of energetic composite *** this study,droplet microfluidics and emulsification tech-niques were combined to prepare HNS/CL-20 composite microspheres with polyglycidyl azide polymer(GAP)as the *** influence of binder content on the morphology of microspheres was investi-gated,and the microspheres were characterized and tested for particle size,crystal structure,thermal decomposition,dispersibility,mechanical sensitivity,combustion behavior and detonation *** results showed that microspheres prepared with a binder content of 3%had higher sphericity and particle size *** microspheres retained the crystal structure of both HNS and CL-20(ε-type).Compared with raw HNS,the microspheres had higher apparent activation energy,better safety per-formance,and good *** ignition experiments and detonation performance tests show that HNS/CL-20 composite microspheres have excellent ignition performance,obvious combustion flame,and significant energy release effects,which are expected to achieve high energy and high-speed response of the igniter,thus improving the ignition reliability in special environments or systems.

Hydrogen and nitrogen absorption properties of Ce-added Zr_(2)(Fe_(1-x)Ni_(x)) alloys

To improve the nitriding resistance of Zr_(2)Fe alloy,the Ce-added Zr_(2)(Fe_(1-x)Ni_(x))(x=0,0.15,0.3,0.5)alloys were prepared by magnetic levitation melting *** effects of Ni substitution for Fe on the phase structure,hydrogen and nitrogen absorption properties of the alloys were investigated by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy and p-c isotherm *** experimental results show that Ni substitution can effectively inhibit the formation of both α-Zr and ZrFe_(2) phases and promote the formation of C16 structure Zr_(2)(Fe,Ni)phase,causing Ni-substituted alloys to exhibit low nitrogen absorption rate and *** 623 K under 0.5 MPa nitrogen pressure,the nitrogen absorption capacity of Ce-added Zr_(2)(Fe_(0.5)Ni_(0.5))alloy reaches to 0.8 mL/g,much lower than that of Zr_(2)Fe alloy(1.5 mL/g).Ni substitution decreases the crystal cell volume of the C_(16)Zr_(2)(Fe,Ni)phase,resulting in an increase in the hydrogen absorption equilibrium *** 623 K under 0.05 MPa hydrogen pressure,the hydrogen absorption capacity decreases from 1.46 wt%of Zr_(2)Fe alloy to 1.41 wt%of Ce-added Zr_(2)(Fe_(0.5)Ni_(0.5))alloy.

Inhibiting HMGCR represses stemness and metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma via Hedgehog signaling

Cancer stem cells(CSCs)play a crucial role in tumor initiation,recurrence,metastasis,and drug ***,the current understanding of CSCs in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)remains *** a comprehensive analysis of the database,it has been observed that 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase(HMGCR),a critical enzyme involved in cholesterol synthesis,is up-regulated in HCC tissues and liver ***,high expression of HMGCR is associated with a poor prognosis in patients with ***,HMGCR promotes the stemness and metastasis of HCC both in vitro and in *** screening various signaling pathway inhibitors,we have determined that HMGCR regulates stemness and metastasis by activating the Hedgehog signaling in ***,HMGCR positively correlates with the expression of the Smoothened receptor and facilitates the nuclear translocation of the transcriptional activator GLI family zinc finger *** of the Hedgehog pathway can reverse the stimulatory effects of HMGCR on stemness and metastasis in ***,simvastatin,an FDA-approved cholesterol-lowering drug,has been shown to inhibit stemness and metastasis of HCC by targeting *** together,our findings suggest that HMGCR promotes the regeneration and metastasis of HCC through the activation of Hedgehog signaling,and simvastatin holds the potential for clinical suppression of HCC metastasis.

Cationic engineered nanodiamonds for efficient antibacterial surface with strong wear resistance

The spread of diseases caused by bacterial adhesion and immobilization in public places constitutes a serious threat to public *** of bacteria spread by the construction of an antibacterial surface takes precedence over post-infection ***,we demonstrate an effective antibacterial surface with strong wear resistance by constructing cationic engineered nanodiamonds(C-NDs).The C-NDs with positive surface potentials interact effectively with bacteria through electrostatic interactions,where the C-NDs act on the phospholipid bilayer and lead to bacterial membrane collapse and rupture through hydrogen bonding and residual surface oxygen-containing reactive *** this case,bactericidal rate of 99.99%and bacterial biofilm inhibition rate of more than 80%can be achieved with the C-NDs concentration of 1 mg/*** addition,the C-NDs show outstanding antibacterial stability,retaining over 87%of the antibacterial effect after stimulation by adverse environments of heat,acid,and external ***,an antibacterial surface with high wear resistance obtained by integrating C-NDs with commercial plastics has been *** antibacterial surface with a mass fraction of 1 wt.%C-NDs improved abrasion resistance by 3981 times,with 99%killing of adherent *** work provides an effective strategy for highly efficient antibacterial wear-resistant surface,showing great practical applications in public health environments.

Construction of multifunctional lanthanum manganese mixed nanoparticles mediated by ionic liquids for selective aerobic oxidation of cyclohexane

Selective oxidation of alkanes to produce highvalue chemicals is an essential strategy and means to realize efficient utilization of *** this work,a strategy of lanthanum manganese mixed metal oxides(LMMO)regulated via a facile ionic liquid(IL)-assisted hydrothermal method was proposed to construct the multifunctional catalysts,which exhibited excellent catalytic performance in the selective aerobic oxidation of *** 8.9%cyclohexane conversion with 90%KA oi(cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone)selectivity was achieved over the optimal LMMO catalyst under mild *** effects of anion type,carbon chain length and concentration of ILs on the structure and properties of catalysts were investigated through various characterizations,indicating the structure-directing and template effect of ILs on the multifunctional *** formation of self-assembled spherical nanoparticles followed the"dissolution-nucleation-proliferation"mechanism with the introduction of 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hydrogen sulfate,ascribing the synergistic effect between the microenvironment of ILs and the hydrothermal ***,the high reactive oxygen concentration redox capacity,and suitable basic sites of LMMO catalysts mediated by ILs enhance the activation of C-H bonds and molecular oxygen,simultaneously influencing the adsorption and desorption of the substrate.A comprehensive understanding of the high KA oil selectivity and radical reaction mechanism was elucidated based on in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy(DRIFTS)and radical trapping *** recycling and regeneration experiments further illuminated that the removal of adsorbed cyclohexanone acting on the LMMO catalyst was the key to achieve high KA oil selectivity.
