Introduction: Gastritis is a very common and widely distributed condition worldwide. It represents one of the most common pathological entities in gastroenterology and digestive endoscopy. Our objective was to determine the sociodemographic, clinical, endoscopic, and histological aspects of gastritis in the digestive endoscopy unit of the General Hospital Idrissa Pouye (GHIP). Materials and Method: This was a retrospective study over a period of 4 years (from 1 January 2014 to 31 December 2017) at the digestive endoscopy unit of GHIP. We had collated oesogastroduodenal endoscopy (EGDE) reports with gastritis appearance with gastric biopsies and reports with normal stomach appearance with gastric biopsies and their histological reports. We collected and analyzed data on age, gender, indications for endoscopy, endoscopic findings and histological results. Results: The reports of 593 patients were analyzed. The mean age was 45 years old (range 8 - 88 years old) and the sex ratio was 0.63 (230 men). The indications for endoscopy were epigastralgia in (91%) of cases, dyspepsia in (22%) of cases, pyrosis in (12%) of cases. The endoscopic appearance was normal in 229 patients (39%). The endoscopic location of the gastritis was antral in 76%, fundic in 22% and pangastric in 2%. The gastritis was erythematous in 327 patients (90%), erosive in 126 patients (35%), congestive in 53 patients (15%), pseudonodular in 14 patients (4%) and atrophic in 10 patients (3%). Dear Editor, microRNAs （miRNAs） are short non-coding RNAs that play crucial roles in plant development and responses to biotic and abiotic stresses, miRNA biogenesis starts with the tran- scription of a hairpin-forming pri-miRNA that is sequentially cleaved yielding a duplex RNA molecule consisting of the mature miRNA （typically 21-22 nt in length） and miRNA＊. Typically, mature miRNAs are the active forms and are incor- porated into different RNA-induced silencing complexes that regulate gene expression by inhibition of translation or cleavage of complementary mRNAs （reviewed in Axtell et al., 2011）.

This paper considers the guaranteed cost control problem for a class of uncertain discrete T-S fuzzy systems with time delay and a given quadratic cost function. Sufficient conditions for the existence of such controllers are derived based on the linear matrix inequalities （LMI） approach by constructing a specific nonquadratic Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and a nonlinear PDC-like control law. A convex optimization problem is also formulated to select the optimal guaranteed cost controller that minimizes the upper bound of the closed-loop cost function. Finally, numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approaches.

The model studied in this paper is a stochastic extension of the so-called neuron model introduced by Hodgkin and Huxley. In the sense of rough paths, the model is perturbed by a multiplicative noise driven by a fractional Brownian motion, with a vector field satisfying the viability condition of Coutin and marie for R× [0, 1]3. An application to the modeling of the membrane potential of nerve fibers damaged by a neuropathy is provided.

OBJECTIVES: 1) To draw up the epidemiological profile of patients who have benefited from cervical cancer screening by visual inspection after application of acetic acid (VIA) and then describe the results of the test, the colposcopy, histological and therapeutic aspects in case of dysplasia. 2) To evaluate the performance of IVA in cervical cancer screening and its feasibility in low-resource countries. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This was a prospective and descriptive study carried out from 06 June 2015 to 31 January 2016 (7 months) at the Maternity Center at Nabil Choucair health center in Dakar. The patients had been screened for cervical cancer by visual inspection, which consisted of applying 3% acetic acid after setting up a vaginal speculum. The test was considered positive if there were intense white areas in the cervix. Colposcopy was performed in case of a positive VIA result. This colposcopy included an unprepared examination, an examination after application of 3% acetic acid and an examination after application of Lugol solution. The colposcopic report is made according to the terminology of the French Society of Colposcopy and Cervico-Vaginal Pathology. Patients with major changes or unsatisfactory colposcopy had undergone diathermic loop resection. Surgical specimens were sent to pathologic anatomy and follow-up was performed according to the results of the histology. The studied parameters concerned the socio-demographic aspects, the results of the VIA test, the results of the colposcopy after a positive test, the therapeutic aspects in case atypical transformation zone grade 2 or of unsatisfactory colposcopy, the results of the histology after the conization and the followed. The collection of data was done thanks to a file and the statistical analysis thanks to the software Epi-info version 7. RESULTS: 899 patients were involved in the study. Acute Pancreatitis during SARS CoV 2 Infection

Introduction: Covid-19 is a systemic disease that can spread to all systems. Among the gastrointestinal manifestations, pancreatic involvement can have a major prognostic impact. We report 3 acute pancreatitis cases occurring during Covid-19, in Dakar. Case 1: 65-year-old woman who presented with intense atypical epigastric pain. Physical examination revealed obesity, high blood pressure and abdominal tenderness. Biological tests found increase CRP (134 mg/l) and lipasemia (312 UI/l). Abdominal CT scan showed findings of Balthazar grade C acute pancreatitis. RT-PCR for SARS CoV 2 RT-PCR was positive. The outcome was favorable. Case 2: 56-year-old woman patient with history of nephroangiosclerosis who presented with dyspnea, cough, fever and moderate epigastric pain. Physical examination revealed epigastric tenderness, high blood pressure, anuria. Biological testing, noted increase CRP (96 mg/l), lipasemia (793 UI/l), creatinine (227 mg/l) and urea (3.84 g/l). Abdominal CT scan showed acute edematous pancreatitis findings. SARS CoV 2 RT PCR was positive. The outcome was favorable. Case 3: 27-year-old man who presented with physical asthenia, headache, and epigastric pain. Physical examination found epigastric tenderness. Elevated CRP level was of 102 mg/l and lipasemia level was of 427 UI/l (7N). Abdominal CT scan showed acute edematous pancreatitis findings. SARS CoV 2 RT PCR was positive. The outcome was favorable. Conclusion: Acute pancreatitis can occur during Covid-19 infection. However, the imputability to the Covid-19 disease necessitates to rule out the most common causes.

Zirconium monohydride bonded to the framework oxygen of MCM-41 surface was prepared by the reaction of tetraneopentyl zirconium with MCM-41 surface hydroxyl groups, followed by the hydrogenolysis of the resulted product. The surface hydride was characterized by using infrared spectroscopy, solid-state NMR, elemental analysis, gas-phase chromatography and chemical probing reaction. It was shown that this surface species is stable below 150 ’C and can catalytically crack alkanes into methane and ethane at 100 .
