Construction of a Der p2-transgenic plant for the alleviation of airway inflammation

In clinical therapy,the amount of antigen administered to achieve oral tolerance for allergic diseases is large,and the cost is a major *** this study,we used tobacco plants to develop a large-scale protein production system for allergen-specific immunotherapy,and we investigated the mechanisms of oral tolerance induced by a transgenic plant-derived *** used plants(tobacco leaves)transgenic for the Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus 2(Der p2)antigen to produce Der *** received total protein extract from Der p2 orally once per day over 6 days(days 0–2 and days 6–8).Mice were also sensitized and challenged with yeast-derived recombinant Der p2(rDer p2),after which the mice were examined for airway hyper-responsiveness and airway *** sensitization and challenge with rDer p2,mice that were fed with total protein extracted from transgenic plants showed decreases in serum Der p2-specific IgE and IgG1 titers,decreased IL-5 and eotaxin levels in bronchial alveolar lavage fluid,and eosinophil infiltration in the *** addition,hyper-responsiveness was also decreased in mice that were fed with total protein extracted from transgenic plants,and CD4^(+)CD25^(+)Foxp3^(+) regulatory T cells were significantly increased in mediastinal and mesenteric lymph ***,splenocytes isolated from transgenic plant protein-fed mice exhibited decreased proliferation and increased IL-10 secretion after stimulation with rDer *** data here suggest that allergen-expressing transgenic plants could be used for therapeutic purposes for allergic diseases.

Tree-Based Index Overlay in Hybrid Peer-to-Peer Systems

Hybrid Peer-to-Peer （P2P） systems that construct overlay networks structured among superpeers have great potential in that they can give the benefits such as scalability, search speed and network traffic, taking advantages of superpeer-based and the structured P2P systems. In this article, we enhance keyword search in hybrid P2P systems by constructing a tree-based index overlay among directory nodes that maintain indices, according to the load and popularity of a keyword. The mathematical analysis shows that the keyword search based on semi-structured P2P overlay can improve the search performance, reducing the message traffic and maintenance costs.

BACKGROUND Due to a shortage of donor kidneys, many centers have utilized graft kidneys from brain-dead donors with expanded criteria. Kidney transplantation(kt)from donors on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation(ECMO) has been identified as a successful way of expanding donor pools. However, there are currently no guidelines or recommendations that guarantee successful kt from donors undergoing ECMO treatment. Therefore, acceptance of appropriate allografts from those donors is solely based on clinician *** SUMMARY We report a case of successful kt from a brain-dead donor supported by ECMO for the longest duration to date. A 69-year-old male received a kt from a 63-yearold brain-dead donor who had been on therapeutic ECMO treatment for the previous three weeks. The recipient experienced slow recovery of graft function after surgery but was discharged home on post-operative day 17 free from hemodialysis. Allograft function gradually improved thereafter and was comparatively acceptable up to the 12 mo follow-up, with serum creatinine level of 1.67 mg/d *** This case suggests that donation even after long-term ECMO treatment could provide successful kt to suitable candidates.

Transmission of 40Gbit/s NRZ signal was successfully demonstrated over 219km of installed SMF in kt's Daejeon area network. After transmission, the measured power penalty was 0.5dB for all the tributary channels.

应用自行建立的准二维简化模型,计算了三种基于45 nm节点技术的ULSI九层低介电常数介质互连结构的温度升高。与ANSYS的分析对比表明,简化模型误差为7.7%。三种互连结构中,结构III设计具有最佳的散热能力,不仅工作时绝对温升小,而且随衬底温度和介质导热系数的温升加大也小;结构I的散热能力良好,结构III最差。对三种互连结构的尺寸分析表明,层间介质的厚度对互连系统的温升影响大,必须在电学模拟和温度模拟完成后找到一个最佳厚度值,以保证既有好的散热条件,又有利于减小RC延迟。互连结构的温升随电介质导热系数的减小呈二阶指数升高,特别当介质导热系数小于0.1 W/℃.m时,互连结构设计将会成为器件温升和系统可靠性的关键所在,引入新技术或许势在必行。

Background:Polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)is an endocrine disorder that occurs in women of child-bearing ***,PCOS patients have decreased pregnancy rates and clomiphene citrate *** traditional Chinese medicine formula Kun-Tai-1S(kt1S),consisting of the seahorse species hippocampus,has been reported to elicit therapeutic effects in patients with ***,given the limited resources and global demand for wild hippocampus,whether kt1S with or without hippocampus can elicit similar therapeutic effects has not been ***:kt1S and Kun-Tai-1A(kt1A,kt1S without dry hippocampus)were used to treat a letrozole-induced rat model of PCOS with an established *** serum levels of testosterone,luteinizing hormone,anti-Müllerian hormone,and estradiol were determined,the luteinizing hormone/follicle-stimulating hormone ratio was determined,and the ovarian pathology was ***:Similar to the therapeutic effects of cyproterone acetate,both the kt1S and kt1A treatments reduced the body weight and ovarian and uterine indices in the rats with *** serum levels of testosterone,anti-Müllerian hormone,and luteinizing hormone and the luteinizing hormone/follicle-stimulating hormone ratio were significantly lower in the kt1S and kt1A treatment groups compared to the model group(Pkt1S and kt1A treatments significantly ameliorated the PCOS pathology in the rats with an established disease,with a reduced number of cystic and atretic follicles and an increased number of corpora lutea being observed in the ***,there was no obvious difference in the disease outcomes between the kt1S and kt1A-treated *** pharmacology analysis revealed that 4’,7-dihydroxyflavanone,sinpemine A,quercetin,8-isopentenyl-kaempferol,and luteolin in kt1A may promote estrogen signaling;furthermore,the nitric oxide regulation pathway is also cl
