Anatase TiO_(2) is a promising anode material for sodium-ion batteries,yet the low electronic and ionic conductivities are the main obstacles for its practical application.Even though the amorphization of TiO_(2) upon sodiation has already been observed,its underneath mechanisms are not fully elucidated.Herein,a low-cost nitrogen-containing carbon source of polyacrylonitrile is adopted to modify commercial anatase TiO_(2) by a convenient and nontoxic ball-milling technique combined with subsequent annealing treatment.In particular,the employment of a nitrogen-doping approach accompanied by nitrogendoped carbon coating,results in a greatly improved conductivity,overall leading to a high reversible capacity of about 260 m A h g^(-1)at 25 m A g^(-1),superior rate capabilities,and an ultra-stable capacity of about 186 m A h g^(-1)after 1600 cycles at 500 m A g^(-1).Detailed characterizations denote that the improved conductivity as well as the small size of the synthesized TiO_(2) grains play a key role in the TiO_(2) amorphization upon sodiation,with the TiO_(2)/C nanocomposite undergoing a complete amorphization in just few cycles.Finally,the irreversible amorphization of TiO_(2) is confirmed to be a crucial ingredient facilitating the Na+diffusion kinetics and pseudocapacitive behavior,thus boosting the sodium storage performance.

Individualized treatment of prostate cancer depends on an accurate stratification of patients who are sensitive to various treatments.Interleukin-23(IL-23)was reported to play a significant role in prostate cancer.Here,we aimed to explore the clinical value of IL-23-secreting(IL-23^(+))cells in prostate cancer patients.We evaluated interleukin-23A(IL-23A)expression in The Cancer Genome Atlas database and retrospectively enrolled 179 treatment-naive metastatic prostate cancer patients diagnosed in our institute between June 2012 and December 2014.IL-23^(+)cells were stained and evaluated via immunohistochemistry.Further,survival and multivariate Cox regression analyses were conducted to explore the prognostic value of IL-23^(+)cells.We found that IL-23A expression correlated with disease progression,while IL-23^(+)cells were clearly stained within prostate cancer tissue.Patients with higher Gleason scores and multiple metastatic lesions tended to have more IL-23^(+)cell infiltration.Further analyses showed that patients with higher levels of IL-23^(+)cells had significantly worse overall survival(hazard ratio[HR]=2.996,95%confidence interval[95%CI]:1.812–4.955;P=0.001)and a higher risk of developing castration resistance(HR=2.725,95%CI:1.865–3.981;P=0.001).Moreover,subgroup analyses showed that when patients progressed to a castration-resistant status,the prognostic value of IL-23^(+)cells was observed only in patients treated with abiraterone instead of docetaxel.Therefore,we showed that high IL-23^(+)cell infiltration is an independent prognosticator in patients with metastatic prostate cancer.IL-23^(+)cell infiltration may correlate with abiraterone effectiveness in castration-resistant prostate cancer patients.

The purpose of our study is to investigate the prognostic value of phosphatase and tensin homolog on chromosome 10(PTEN)expression in patients with de novo metastatic castration naive prostate cancer(mCNPC).A total of 205 patients with mCNPC at Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center(Shanghai,China)were retrospectively examined.Immunohistochemical staining of PTEN was performed on prostate biopsy samples of these patients.Associations among clinicopathological features,patient survival and PTEN protein expression were analyzed.PTEN loss occurred in 58 of 205(28.3%)patients.Loss of PTEN was significantly correlated with high metastatic volume(P=0.017).No association between PTEN expression and Gleason score was observed.Patients with PTEN loss had significantly shorter progression-free survival(PFS,P<0.001)and overall survival(OS,P<0.001)compared with patients with intact PTEN expression.Multivariate analysis showed that elevated alkaline phosphatase,high metastatic volume and PTEN loss were independent poor prognostic factors for PFS.The Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status(ECOG PS)≥2 and PTEN loss were independent poor prognostic factors for OS.The adjusted hazard ratio of PTEN loss for PFS and OS was 1.67(95%confidence interval[CI]:1.14–2.43,P=0.008)and 1.95(95%CI:1.23–3.10,P=0.005),respectively.PTEN loss was also significantly associated with shorter PFS(P=0.025)and OS(P<0.001)in patients with low-volume metastatic disease.Our data showed that PTEN loss is an independent predictor for shorter PFS and OS in patients with de novo mCNPC.

Conformation and dynamical evolution of block copolymers in shear flow is an important topic in polymer physics that underscores the forming process of various materials.We explored deformation and dynamics of copolymers composed of rigid or flexible blocks in simple shear flow by employing multiparticle collision dynamics integrated with molecular dynamics simulations.We found that compared with the proportion between rigid and flexible blocks,the type of the central blocks plays more important role in the conformational and dynamical evolution of copolymers.That is,if the central block is a coil,the copolymer chain takes end-over-end tumbling motion,while if the central block is a rod,the copolymer chain undergoes U-shape or S-shape deformation at mid shear rate.As the shear strength increases,all copolymers behave similar to flexible polymers at high shear rate.This can be attributed to the fact that shear flow is strong enough to overcome the buckling force of the rigid blocks.These results provide a deeper understanding of the roles played by rod and coil blocks in copolymers for phase interface during forming processing.

Background： Acute fatty liver of pregnancy （AFLP） is a rare but life-threatening complication occurring in the third trimester. It is often fatal to both mother and fetus. The complicated clinical manifestations as well as an insufficient understanding of the disease make the precise diagnosis and effective treatment of AF LP challenging. A full understanding of the risk factors, clinical features, and test findings of AFLP is critical for its timely diagnosis and treatment. Methods： We performed a retrospective study of 56 patients with AFLP between June 2008 and July 2013. We analyzed the clinical features, laboratory results, perioperative management, and patient outcomes. Results： The initial symptoms varied considerably, with nausea and vomiting （13/56, 23%） being the most common. Liver-function indexes were remarkable, including elevated levels of serum alanine aminotransferase （262.16 ± 281.71 U/L）, aspartate aminotransferase （260.98 ± 237.91 U/L）, lactic dehydrogenase （1011.76 ± 530.34 U/L）, and direct bilirubin （85.59 ± 90.02 μmol/L）. Coagulation disorders were indicated by abnormal levels offibrinogen （245.95 ± 186.11 mg/dL）, D-dimer （2.46 ±4.01 mg/L）, and fibrin degradation products （43.62 ±48.71 mg/L）. The main maternal complications were hypoproteinemia （75%）, coagulopathy （54%）, and acute renal failure （39%）. Multivariate logistic regression analysis identified prothrombin time （PT; odds ratio [OR] = 1.558, 95% confidence interval [CI] =1.248-1.946, P= 0.016） and international normalized ratio （INR; OR = 40.034, 95% CI= 2.517-636.693, P = 0.009） as risk factors. The perinatal infant death rate was related to gestational age at delivery （OR = 1.298, 95% CI- 1.040-1.618, P = 0.021）, direct bilirubin （OR = 1.05, 95% CI = 1.008 1.094, P = 0.020）, and fibrin degradation products （OR - 0.973, 95% CI = 0.950 0.996, P= 0.021）. Conclusions： Nausea and vomiting may be the most common symptoms of AFLP. Indexes of liver dysfunction and coagulation disorders should also be considered. PT and INR are risk factor

Background::Regulated upon activation, normal T-cell expressed, and secreted (RANTES) is a chemokine actively involved in the initiation and progression of atherosclerosis (AS), which is the major cause of ischemic cerebrovascular disease (ICVD). This study aimed to determine the associations between circulating RANTES level and overall AS conditions of cardiac and cerebral vessel beds in patients with ICVD.Methods::Patients with ICVD admitted to the department of neurology of Xuanwu Hospital from April 1, 2019 to June 30, 2019 were prospectively enrolled in the study. Plasma RANTES level was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay to represent the circulating RANTES level. The integrated AS burden of the cervicocephalic and coronary arteries was examined using computed tomography angiography and reflected by "cardio-cerebral AS burden (CCAB)" as a continuous variable. Then, the relationship of plasma RANTES level and CCAB in patients with ICVD was analyzed by correlation analyses and general linear models.Results::A total of 40 patients with ICVD were included in the study. There was a significant positive correlation between CCAB and plasma RANTES level in ICVD ( r = 0.786, P < 0.001), independent of age, sex, acute or chronic phase of ICVD, and mono or dual antiplatelet therapy (adjusted B for ln RANTES, 12.063;95% confidence interval, 7.572-16.533). The association of plasma RANTES level with AS conditions (burden, severity, and extent) in single cardiac or cerebral vessel bed was similar to that with CCAB, but the correlation coefficient for CCAB was higher (increment ranged from 0.126 to 0.397). Conclusions::Plasma RANTES level was an independent indicator for the integrated AS burden of the cervicocephalic and coronary arteries in ICVD. Comprehensive evaluation of AS conditions using the novel continuous index CCAB might be important in revealing the systematic relationship between circulating RANTES and AS in patients with ICVD.

Super Strong and Tough Elastomers Enabled by Sacrificial Segregated Network

The integration of high strength and toughness concurrently is a vital requirement for elastomers from the perspective of long-term durability and reliability. Unfortunately, these properties are generally conflicting in artificial materials. In the present work, we propose a facile strategy to simultaneously toughen and strengthen elastomers by constructing 3 D segregated filler network via a simple latex mixing method.The as-fabricated elastomers are featured by a microscopic 3 D interconnected segregated network of rigid graphene oxide(GO) nanosheets and a continuous soft matrix of sulfur vulcanized natural rubber(NR). We demonstrate that the interconnected segregated filler network ruptures preferentially upon deformation, and thus is more efficient in energy dissipation than the dispersed filler network. Therefore, the segregated filler network exhibits better reinforcing effects for the rubber matrix. Moreover, the excellent energy dissipating ability also contributes to the outstanding crack growth resistance through the release of concentrated stress at the crack tip. As a result, the strength, toughness and fatigue resistance of the nanocomposites are concurrently enhanced. The methodology in this work is facile and universally applicable, which may provide new insights into the design of elastomers with both extraordinary static and dynamic mechanical performance for practical applications.

探究牛蒡子苷元(arctigenin,ARC)对妊娠期高血压病(pregnancy-induced hypertension,PIH)大鼠血管内皮损伤的作用及机制。将50只SD受孕大鼠于妊娠12 d随机分为对照组、模型组、ARC组、自噬诱导剂雷帕霉素组(rapamycin,RAP)和ARC+自噬抑制剂3-甲基腺嘌呤(3-methyladenine,3-MA)组,每组10只,除对照组外,其余各组大鼠于受孕13 d腹腔注射亚硝基左旋精氨酸甲酯50 mg·kg^(-1)·d^(-1)构建PIH模型。ARC组大鼠于受孕15 d时腹腔注射ARC 50 mg·kg^(-1)·d^(-1);RAP组受孕大鼠腹腔注射RAP 1 mg·kg^(-1)·d^(-1);ARC+3-MA组受孕大鼠腹腔注射3-MA 15 mg·kg^(-1)·d^(-1),同时注射ARC 50 mg·kg^(-1)·d^(-1);对照组和模型组受孕大鼠腹腔注射等量生理盐水。观察各组大鼠干预前后血压、24 h尿蛋白(24 h-UP)变化。于受孕21 d进行剖宫产终止妊娠,比较各组胎鼠体质量及体长;苏木素-伊红(hematoxylin-eosin,HE)染色观察胎盘组织病理变化;免疫组化检测胎盘组织内皮素-1(endothelin-1,ET-1)、内皮型一氧化氮合成酶(endothelial nitric oxide synthase,eNOS)蛋白表达;试剂盒检测血清ET-1和一氧化氮(nitric oxide,NO)含量;免疫荧光及Western blot检测自噬标志蛋白微管相关蛋白轻链3(microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3,LC3)、Beclin-1、NOD样受体蛋白3(NOD-like receptor protein 3,NLRP3)炎症小体(NLRP3、ASC、caspase-1)及白细胞介素(interleukin,IL)-1β、IL-18表达;荧光染色检测胎盘组织活性氧(reactive oxygen species,ROS)水平。结果显示,妊娠12 d时,各组孕鼠血压、24 h-UP均无显著性差异;妊娠15 d时,与对照组相比,模型组孕鼠血压、24 h-UP均显著增加(P<0.05);妊娠19、21 d时,与对照相比,模型组孕鼠血压、24 h-UP均显著增加(P<0.05)。与模型组相比,ARC组和RAP组孕鼠血压、24 h-UP均显著降低(P<0.05)。与ARC组相比,ARC+3-MA组孕鼠血压、24 h-UP均显著增加(P<0.05)。妊娠21 d孕鼠剖宫产检测结果显示,与对照组相比,模型组胎鼠体质量、体长均显著降低(P<0.05),血清ET-1水平升高、NO水平降低(P<0.05),胎盘组织出现典型性病理损伤且LC3-Ⅱ/LC3-Ⅰ,Beclin-1和eNOS表达显著降低(P<0.05),ET-1及NLRP3、ASC、caspase-1、IL-1β、IL-18蛋白表达均显著升高(P<0.05),ROS水平升高。与模型组相比,ARC组和RAP组胎鼠体质量、体长均显著增加(P<0.05),血清ET-1水平降低、NO水平升高(P<0.05),胎盘组织病理性损伤减轻且LC3-Ⅱ/LC3-Ⅰ,Beclin-1和eNOS表达显著升高(P<0.05),ET-1及NLRP3、ASC、caspase-1、IL-1β、IL-18蛋白表达均显著降低(P<0.05),ROS水平降低。与ARC组相比,3-MA能够逆转ARC对PIH胎鼠上述指标的作用。综上,ARC能够通过诱导血管内皮细胞自噬,抑制NLRP3炎症小体活化,改善PIH血管内皮损伤。

Vascular endothelial cells and oxidation reduction system play an important role in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis(AS).If these conditions are disordered,it will inevitably lead to plaque formation and even rupture.Astragaloside IV(AsIV)and salvianolic acid B(Sal B)are the main active ingredients of Astragalus membranaceus and Salvia miltiorrhiza,respectively,and found to ameliorate vascular endothelial dysfunction and protect against oxidative stress in recent studies.However,it is still unknown if the combination of AsIV and Sal B(AsIV+Sal B)can inhibit the development of plaque through amplifying the protective effect of vascular endothelial cells and anti-oxidative stress effect.To clarify the role of AsIV+Sal B in AS,we observed the efficacy of each group(Control,Model,AsIV,Sal B,and AsIV+Sal B)by biomolecular assays,such as observing the pathological morphology of the aorta by oil red O staining,evaluating the level of oxidative stress and endothelial cells in the serum by the Elisa test,and analyzing the changes of all small molecule metabolites in liver tissue by UPLC-QTOF-MS.Results showed that AsIV,Sal B and AsIV+Sal B decreased the deposition of lipid in the arterial wall,so as to exert the effect of anti-oxidant stress and vascular endothelial protection,where the inhibitory effect of AsIV+Sal B was the most obvious.Metabonomics analysis showed that Sal B regulated the metabolic pathways of arginine and proline.AsIV regulated glycerol metabolism and saturated fatty acid biosynthesis metabolism.AsIV+Sal B is mainly related to the regulation of the citrate cycle(TCA cycle),alanine,aspartic acid,and glutamate metabolism,cysteine,and methionine metabolism.Succinic acid and methionine are synergistic metabolites that exert an enhancing effect when AsIV and Sal B were used in combination.In conclusion,we demonstrated that AsIV acompanied with Sal B can be successfully used for anti-oxidative stress and vascular endothelial protection of AS,and succinic acid and methionine are the synergistic metabolite
