Catalytic co-combustion of biomass and brown coal in a fluidized bed:Economic and environmental benefits

The work is devoted to the study of combustion of brown coal,pine sawdust,and their mixtures in a fluidized bed of catalyst at 600-750℃.it is shown that an increase in the content of sawdust in a mixture with brown coal leads to an increase in the burnout degree of solid fuel from 94.4%to 99.9%,while the emission of greenhouse gases in the form of CO_(2)CO and NOxis reduced(CO_(2)from the biomass is not included in the balance).The high content of alkaline earth metal oxides(CaO and MgO)in the mineral part of brown coal,sawdust,and their mixtures eliminates the emission of sulfur oxides and the slagging of heat-exchange surfaces during the combustion in a fluidized bed of *** optimal temperature,when the highest burnout degree of the above fuels is achieved in the combustion is 750℃.it is also shown that the increase in temperature and the content of sawdust in the composition of the fuel mixtures has a positive effect on the economic and environmental process indicators.

Wrought and laser powder bed fusion （LPbF） Ti-6Al-4V specimens were comparatively evaluated， with the objective to determine LPbF Ti-6-4’s suitability for biomedical applications. Testing included nanoindentation， cyclic polarization in simulated body fluid （SbF， 37 ℃ ）， and dry and SbF “ball-on-Plate” sliding. Wrought Ti-6-4 exhibited a lamellar （α+β） microstructure， whereas LPbF displayed a fine-grained α'-martensite microstructure. LPbF Ti-6-4 demonstrated ～3% higher indentation modulus and ～32% higher hardness， while wrought Ti-6-4 showed ～8% higher plasticity. both alloys exhibited low corrosion rates (10–5mA/cm2order) and true passivity (10–4mA/cm2order). No localized corrosion was observed in either alloy， except for occasional metastable pitting in the LPbF alloy. However， LPbF Ti-6-4 presented higher corrosion rate and passive current， ascribed to its martensitic structure. During dry sliding， LPbF Ti-6-4 exhibited ～14% lower volume loss compared to wrought Ti-6-4. Sliding in SbF increased volume losses for both alloys， with wear resistances nearly equalized， as the advantage of LPbF Ti-6-4 decreased due to more intensive wear-accelerated corrosion induced by the stressed martensite. Overall， the results demonstrate the suitability of LPbF Ti-6Al-4V for biomedical uses.

in this study,a calcium-phosphate coating was formed on a Mg-Mn-Ce alloy by the plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO).The antibiotic vancomycin,widely used in the treatment of infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus(***),was impregnated into the *** with vancomycin showed high bactericidal activity against *** mechanical and electrochemical properties of the formed coatings were studied,as well as in vitro cytotoxicity tests and in vivo tests on mature male rats were *** to SEM,EDS,XRD and XPS data,coatings had a developed morphology and contained hydroxyapatite,which indicates high *** analysis of roughness of coatings without and with vancomycin did not reveal any differences,confirming the high roughness of the *** electrochemical tests,an increase in corrosion resistance by more than two times after the application of PEO coatings was *** to the results of an in vivo study,after 28 days of the implantation of samples with calcium phosphate PEO coating and vancomycin,no signs of inflammation were observed,while an inflammatory reaction developed in the area of implantation of bare alloy,followed by *** release tests from the coatings show a sharp decrease in the concentration of the released antibiotic on day 7 and then a gradual decrease until day *** the experiment,no significant deviations in the condition and behavior of the animals were observed;clinical tests did not reveal a systemic toxic reaction.

Luminosity monitoring at e^(+)e^(−)colliders was investigated using SANC Monte Carlo event generator ReneSANCe and integrator MCSANC for simulation of bhabha scattering at low *** are presented for center-of-mass energies of the Z boson resonance and at 240 GeV for the conditions of typical luminosity *** is shown that bremsstrahlung events with extremely low electron scattering angles are relevant to match the precision tags of future electron-positron colliders.

background:No studies have documented long-term trends in aboveground biomass(AGb)for mixed-dipterocarp forests(MDF),the dominant rain forest type in tropical wet equatorial *** our study,we sought to document such trends over forty years across three sites representing lowland to lower montane ***:To do this,we estab.i.hed fifty 100 m×25 m plots in 1978 across three sites sampled along an elevation gradient,identified as mature old-growth *** measured trees for diameter at breast height that we identified to species and *** took wood samples to calculate species wood-specific *** re-measured plots in 1998 and again in ***:We show standing AGb for all sites combined to be 517.52 Mg·ha^(-1)in 1978,but this declined by 17%over 40 years to 430.11 Mg·ha^(-1).No differences exist among sites in AGb primarily because of considerable within site variation;but interactions of time with site show declines across sites were not uniform,one remained about the *** few species represented a high proportion of the AGb with the top five species comprising between 34%and 65%,depending upon site and year *** species,Mesua nagassarium,represented a disproportionately large amount of AGb and decline over time,particularly at the low elevation ***:Our results are directly relevant to estimating AGb and standing carbon sequestered in *** study is the first to demonstrate varying but overall,declining trends in amounts of AGb among forests making predictions of biomass and standing carbon in MDF difficult over wide regions.

A study of the inelastic scattering of neutrons with an energy of 14.1 MeV on the nuclei of oxygen,phosphorus,and sulfur was performed at the TANGRA facility at JiNR(Dubna).The experiment aimed to refine existing data and obtain new data on the yields and angular distributions ofγ-quanta emitted by the studied nuclei due to neutron-induced nuclear reactions using the tagged neutron *** types of detector systems were used to registerγ-***γ-ray yields were measured using a high-purity germanium(HPGe)*** angular distributions ofγ-rays were obtained using a system of 18 scintillation detectors based on bismuth germanite bi_(4)Ge_(3)O_(12)(bGO)located around the *** performed experiments measured the yields of two transitions for the reaction of tagged neutrons with 16O,nine transitions for the reaction with ^(31)P,and nine transitions for the reaction with ^(32)S for the first *** angular anisotropy of theγ-radiation accompanying the inelastic scattering of neutrons with an energy of 14.1 MeV on ^(31)P nuclei was also measured for the first time.

The complete-fusion reaction^(204)Pb(^(48)Ca,2n)^(250)No was used to study two activities of^(250)No with distinct half-lives.A total of 1357 events were observed in the SFiNx neutron detection *** average number of neutrons emitted per spontaneous fission of^(250)No was determined to be(4.1±0.1).The unusually symmetrical shape of the prompt neutron multiplicity distribution was restored and presented for the first *** tests were performed to compare the prompt neutron multiplicity distributions associated with the ground state and K-isomer state decays.

Recently, a bulk nickelate superconductor La3Ni2O7is discovered at pressures with a remarkable high transition temperature Tc～ 80 K. Here, we study a Hubbard model with tight-binding parameters derived from ab.i.itio calculations of La3Ni2O7,by employing large scale determinant quantum Monte Carlo and cellular dynamical mean-field theory. Our result suggests that the superexchange couplings in this system are comparable to that of cuprates. The system is a charge transfer insulator as the hole concentration becomes four per site at large Hubbard U. Upon hole doping, two low-energy spin-singlet bands emerge in the system exhibiting distinct correlation properties: while the one composed of the out-of-plane Ni-d3z2-r2and O-pzorbitals demonstrates strong antiferromagnetic correlations and narrow effective bandwidth, the in-plane singlet band consisting of the Ni-dx2-y2and O-px/pyorbitals is in general more itinerant. Over a broad range of hole doping, the doped holes occupy primarily the dx2-y2and px/pyorbitals, whereas the d3z2-r2and pzorbitals retain underdoped. We propose an effective t-J model to capture the relevant physics and discuss the implications of our result for comprehending the La3Ni2O7superconductivity.
