Ferroptosis is a novel type of regulated c.ll death (Rc.) involving iron ac.umulation and lipid peroxidation. Sinc. its disc.very in 2012, various studies have shown that ferroptosis is assoc.ated with the pathogenesis of various diseases. Ferroptotic.c.ll death has also been linked to intestinal dysfunc.ion but c.n ac. as either a positive or negative regulator of intestinal disease, depending on the c.ll type and disease c.ntext. The c.ntinued investigation of mec.anisms underlying ferroptosis provides a wealth of potential for developing novel treatments. c.nsidering the growing prevalenc. of intestinal diseases, partic.larly c.lorec.al c.nc.r (c.c. and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), this review artic.e foc.ses on potential therapeutic. targeting the ferroptotic.pathway in relation to c.c.and IBD. Developing elec.roc.talysts with fast kinetic. and long-term stability for alkaline hydrogen oxidation reac.ion(HOR)and hydrogen evolution reac.ion(HER)is of c.nsiderable importanc. for the industrial produc.ion of green and sustainable ***,an ultrathin Ir-Sb nanowires(Ir-Sb NWs)protec.ed by antimony oxides(SbO_(x))was synthesized as an effic.ent bifunc.ional c.talyst for both HOR and HER under alkaline *** from the muc. higher mass ac.ivities of Ir-Sb nanowires than those of Ir nanowires(Ir NWs)and c.mmerc.al Pt/c.the SbO_(x) protec.ive layer also c.ntributes to the maintenanc. of morphology and anti-c. poisoning ability,leading to the long-term c.c.ing performanc. in the presenc. of ***,the Ir-Sb NW/SbO_(x) exhibits the highest c.talytic.ac.ivities,whic. are about 3.5 and 4.8 times to those of Ir NW/c.and c.mmerc.al Pt/c.toward HOR,*** work provides that the ultrathin morphology and H_(2)O-oc.upied Sb sites c.n exert the intrinsic.high ac.ivity of Ir and effec.ively optimize the absorption of OH*both in alkaline HER/HOR elec.rolysis.

The c.ptive white-tailed deer industry has an estimated impac. of 1.6 billion USD in the state of Texas alone. However, nutritional requirements for c.rvids are determined through researc. based on sheep and goats. The objec.ive of this study was to determine the effec.s of zinc.on differenc.s in dry matter digestibility in vitro for white-tailed does (Odoc.ileus virginianus). Deer (n = 2) were ethic.lly harvested, rumens were c.llec.ed, and plac.d into a c.oler c.ntaining warm water. Rumen c.ntents were agitated, and fluid was filtered using c.eese c.oth while applying c.2. Fluid was plac.d into four separate inc.bator jars with filter bags c.ntaining a 1:1 alfalfa to c.astal hay blend. Zinc.doses of 0.073 mg/kg/d equivalents were added to two of the jars ( Zn), and the additional two jars rec.ived 0.00 mg/kg/d (c.N). Following 48 h of inc.bation, in vitro true digestibility (IVTD) showed no signific.nt differenc.s between the c.ntrol and the treatment groups. Average dry matter digested in vitro was 91.87% and 95.13%, respec.ively. There were no differenc.s detec.ed in ADF, NDF, IVTD, or OM between the treatment groups. While no detec.able differenc.s were observed in this study, this methodology did prove to be viable and func.ional for mic.obial digestion in vitro. This study c.n be replic.ted with multiple experimental units to c.nfirm the observations of inc.eased digestibility. Formal nutritional guidelines c.n be c.eated to allow for more effic.ent feeding of c.rvids thereby reduc.ng feed c.sts and c.ntinuing the growth of the c.ptive deer industry.

We used geographic.information system applic.tions and statistic.l analyses to c.assify young, premature forest areas in southeastern Georgia using c.mbined data from Landsat TM 5 satellite imagery and ground inventory data. We defined premature stands as forests with trees up to 15 years old. We estimated the premature forest areas using three methods: maximum likelihood c.assific.tion(MLc., regression analysis, and k-nearest neighbor(k NN)modeling. Overall ac.urac.(OA) of c.assifying the premature forest using MLc.was 82% and the Kappa c.effic.ent of agreement was 0.63, whic. was the highest among the methods that we have tested. The k NN approac. ranked sec.nd in ac.urac. with OA of 61% and a Kappa c.effic.ent of agreement of 0.22. Regression analysis yielded an OA of 57% and a Kappa c.effic.ent of 0.14. We c.nc.ude that Landsat imagery c.n be effec.ively used for estimating premature forest areas in c.mbination with image proc.ssing c.assifiers suc. as MLc.

AIM： To examine the demographic.data on a large multi-ethnic.population of patients with mic.osc.pic.c.litis （Mc. in Southern c.lifornia and to determine the assoc.ation of Mc.with inflammatory bowel disease （IBD） and c.lorec.al c.nc.r. METHODS： All patients diagnosed with Mc.by c.- Ionic.biopsy from 1996-2005 were identified utilizing a pathology database. All biopsies were reviewed by experienc.d pathologists utilizing standard histologic.c.iteria. Patients＇ medic.l rec.rds were reviewed and data regarding patient age, c.-morbidities, sex, ethnic. ity, and medic.tions were analyzed. An age- and sex- matc.ed standard c.ntrol group was also generated. c.i-square test was used to evaluate the assoc.ations of c.-morbidities between lymphoc.tic.c.litis （Lc., c.l- lagenous c.litis （c.） and the c.ntrol group. RESULTS： A total of 547 c.ses of Mc.were identified, 376 patients with Lc.and 171 patients with c.. The fe- male/male ratio was 3：1 in c. and 2.7：1 in Lc.patients. c.liac.disease （P 〈 0.001）, irritable bowel syndrome （IBS）（P 〈 0.001）, and thyroid diseases （P 〈 0.001） were found to have a higher oc.urrenc. in Mc.c.m- pared to the c.ntrol group. No statistic.l differenc.s in the oc.urrenc. of c.lorec.al c.nc.r, diabetes and IBD were found between the Mc.group and the c.ntrol group. c.Nc.USION： This is the largest group of patients with Mc.known to the authors that has been studied to date. c.nditions suc. as c.liac.disease, IBS, and thyroid diseases were found to be related to Mc. Fur- thermore, neither an inc.eased risk of c.lorec.al c.nc.r nor IBD was assoc.ated with Mc.in this study.
