Te nitrocellulose(NC)membrane based lateral fow immunoassay device(LFID)is one of the most important and widely used biosensor platforms for point-of-care(PoC)***,the analytical performance of LFID has limitations and its optimization is restricted to the bioassay chemistry,the membrane porosity,and the choice of biolabel *** bottom neck technical issues resulted from the fact that the conventional LFID design principle has not evolved for many years,which limited the LFID for advanced biosensor *** we introduce a new dimension for LFID design and optimization based on geometric fow control(GFC)of NC membranes,leading to highly sensitive *** novel approach enables comprehensive fow control via diferent membrane geometric features such as the width(θ)and the length(l)of a constriction,as well as its input angle(θ_(1))and output angle(θ_(2)).Te GFC-LFID(θ=0.5 mm,l=7 mm,θ_(1)=60∘,θ_(2)=45∘)attained a 10-fold increase in sensitivity for detection of interleukin-6(IL-6),compared with conventional LFID,whereas reducing by 10-fold the antibody *** GFC-LFID detects IL-6 over a linear range of 0.1–10 ng/mL with a limit of detection(LoD)of 29 pg/mL,which even outperforms some commercial IL-6 *** signifcant improvement is attained by pure geometric control of the NC membrane,without additives,that only relaying on a simple high throughput laser ablation procedure suitable for integration on regular large-scale manufacturing of *** new development on GFC-LFID with the combination of facile scalable fabrication process,tailored fow control,improved analytical performance,and reduced antibodies consumption is likely to have a signifcant impact on new design concept for the LFID industry.

AIM:To assess the repeatability,interocular correlation,and agreement of quantitative swept-source optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA)optic nerve head(ONH)parameters in healthy ***:Thir ty-three healthy subjects were *** ONH of both eyes were imaged four times by a swept-source-OCTA using a 3 mm×3 mm scanning *** of the radial peripapillary capillary were analyzed by a customized Matlab program,and the vessel density,fractal dimension,and vessel diameter index were *** repeatability of the four scans was determined by the intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC).The most well-centered optic disc from the four repeated scans was then selected for the interocular correlation and agreement analysis using the Pearson correlation coefficient,ICC and Bland-Altman ***:All swept-source-OCTA ONH parameters exhibited certain repeatability,with ICC>0.760 and coefficient of variation(CoV)≤7.301%.The obvious interocular correlation was observed for papillary vessel density(ICC=0.857),vessel diameter index(ICC=0.857)and fractal dimension(ICC=0.906),while circumpapillary vessel density exhibited moderate interocular correlation(ICC=0.687).Bland-Altman plots revealed an agreement range of-5.26%to 6.21%for circumpapillary vessel ***:OCTA ONH parameters demonstrate good repeatability in healthy *** interocular correlations of papillary vessel density,fractal dimension and vessel diameter index are high,but the correlation for circumpapillary vessel density is moderate.

Guided by the theoretical processes of mindfulness and psychological well-being,this study examined serenity as a mediator between mindfulness facets and psychological well-being,as indexed by depressive symptoms and life *** were 133 mindfulness practitioners who took part in a 3-day transnational meditation event in Hong *** informed consent,participants completed a self-report *** findings from structural equation modeling showed that serenity mediated the relation between two facets of mindfulness,including describing and nonreacting to inner experience,and life *** also mediated the relation between the mindfulness facet of describing and depressive *** associations were indicated between two mindfulness facets,including observing and nonjudging of inner experience,and depressive *** together,the findings revealed mindfulness facets as major correlates of serenity and psychological outcomes among Chinese meditation *** foster psychological well-being,researchers,educators,and practitioners should pay attention to the role of serenity,describing,and nonreacting to inner experience in mental health.

In this study,the effects of stacked nanosheets and the surrounding interphase zone on the resistance of the contact region between nanosheets and the tunneling conductivity of samples are evaluated with developed equations superior to those previously *** contact resistance and nanocomposite conductivity are modeled by several influencing factors,including stack properties,interphase depth,tunneling size,and contact *** developed model's accuracy is verified through numerous experimental *** further validate the models and establish correlations between parameters,the effects of all the variables on contact resistance and nanocomposite conductivity are ***,the contact resistance is primarily dependent on the polymer tunnel resistivity,contact area,and tunneling *** dimensions of the graphene nanosheets significantly influence the conductivity,which ranges from 0 S/m to90 S/*** increased number of nanosheets in stacks and a larger gap between them enhance the nanocomposite's ***,the thicker interphase and smaller tunneling size can lead to higher sample conductivity due to their optimistic effects on the percolation threshold and network efficacy.

In this paper,a cost-effective and miniaturized instrument is proposed,which is based on a tunable modulated grating y-branch(MG-y)laser for rapid temperature measurement using a Fabry-Perot interferometer(FPI)*** FPI sensor with a 1463-μm cavity length is a short segment of a capillary tube sandwiched by two sections of single-mode fibers(SMFs).This system has a broad tunable range(1527 nm-1567 nm)with a wavelength interval of 8 pm and a tuning rate of 100 *** sensing experiments are carried out to investigate the performance of the system by demodulating the absolute cavity length of the FPI sensor using a cross-correlation *** results show that the sensor can reach the response time as short as 94 ms with the sensitivity of 802 pm/*** from the homemade and integrated essential electrical circuits,the entire system has the small size,low cost,and practical application potential to be used in the harsh environment for rapid temperature measurement.

AIM:To investigate tomographic features of late corneal ectasia after keratoplasty for keratoconus and compare penetrating keratoplasty(Pk)and deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty(DALk)in terms of incidence,time of onset and risk factors of corneal ***:Sixty eyes with Pk and 30 eyes with DALk operated between 1999 and 2021 were *** Pentacam scans were evaluated together with vision and previous *** outcome measures were vision,k values,apparent thinning on graft-host cornea and the difference between opposing quadrants in the thinnest point *** segment optic coherence tomography was performed for further ***:Mean follow-up was 127.2mo(24–282mo)in Pk,and 64.3mo(24–144mo)in DALk.k max was higher in DALk(60.6 vs 56.7 D,P=0.012).Inferior recipient was thinner(595.9μm)in Pk than DALk(662.2μm,P=0.021),due to longer *** corneal ectasia rate was 20.0%within *** rate was the same(6.7%)in DALk 2/30 and in Pk 4/60 in 10y and 13.3%in 12y(4/30 and 8/60,respectively).It increased to 23.3%(14/60)in Pk over *** ectasia was not seen before 7y in Pk,it could be seen in DALk starting from the 5^(th) *** intervals between keratoplasty and ectasia were 144.5mo in Pk and 99mo in *** recipient was significantly thinner in 18 eyes with ectasia(502.7μm)compared to 76 non-ectasia(649.1μm,P=0.000).Inferior graft was thinner(561.0 vs 620.4μm,P=0.006),k max(63.3 vs 56.5 D,P=0.000),and anterior elevation was higher in ectasia(89.1 vs 48.6μm,P=0.002).Accelerated crosslinking was performed on 5 ***:Inferior-superior recipient and inferior graft thinning on tomography,with high k max and anterior elevation emerge as the most reliable criteria for the diagnosis of late *** incidence of corneal ectasia increases with the time.

The wear profile analysis,obtained by different tribometers,is essential to characterise the wear ***,most of the available methods did not take the stress distribution over the wear profile in consideration,which causes inaccurate *** this study,the wear profile of polymer–metal contact,obtained by block-on-ring configuration under dry sliding conditions,was analysed using finite element modelling(FEM)and experimental ***’s wear equation was integrated into a developed FORTRAN-UMESHMOTION code linked with Abaqus software.A varying wear coefficient(k)values covering both running-in and steady state regions,and a range of applied loads involving both mild and severe wear regions were measured and implemented in the *** FEM was in good agreement with the *** model reproduced the stress distribution profiles under variable testing conditions,while their values were affected by the sliding direction and maximum wear depth(hmax).The largest area of the wear profile,exposed to the average contact stresses,is defined as the normal *** the critical zones were characterized by high stress concentrations reaching up to 10 times of that at the normal *** wear profile was mapped to identify the critical zone where the stress concentration is the key point in this *** surface features were examined in different regions using scanning electron microscope(SEM).Ultimately,SEM analysis showed severer damage features in the critical zone than that in the normal zone as proven by ***,the literature data presented and considered the wear features the same at any point of the wear *** this study,the normal zone was determined at a stress value of about 0.5 MPa,whereas the critical zone was at about 5.5 *** wear behaviour of these two zones showed totally different features from one another.
