Refractive Features and Diffraction Scattering Patterns Observed in the Elastic Scattering of 12C from 12C at Various Energies

We have measured the angular distributions for 12C ion beam elastically scattered from 12C target of thickness 17.4 μg/cm2 at energies 15, 18 and 21 MeV which is close to the Coulomb barrier energy for 12C + 12C nuclear system. The elastic scattering of 12C beam on 12C was analysed also at different energies (139.5, 158.8, 180, 240, 288.6, 300, 360 and 420 MeV) from literature in order to obtain the global optical potential parameters, which could fairly reproduce the experimental data. The experimental results were analysed within the framework of both the optical model and the double folding potential obtained with different density-dependent nn interactions which give the corresponding values of the nuclear incompressibility k in the Hartree-Fock calculation of nuclear matter. The agreement between the experimental results and the theoretical predictions in the whole angular range is fairly good.

Dual phase （DP） steels containing four different amounts of martensite ranging from 43 vol. pct to 81 vol. pct have been developed from 0.2 wt pct carbon steel by intercritical heat treatment at a fixed temperature of 780℃ with varying holding times followed by water quenching. Dry sliding wear tests have been conducted on DP steels using a pin- on-disk machine under different normal loads of 61.3, 68.5, 75.7 and 82.6 n and at a constant sliding speed of 1.20 m/s. At these loads, the mechanism of wear is primarily delamination, which has been confirmed by SEM micrographs of subsurface and wear debris of samples. Wear properties have been found to improve with the increase in martensite volume fraction in dual phase steels.

Objective:To evaluate the cytotoxicity and hepatoprotective potentials of extracts,fractions or isolated compound from the leaves of Feronia limonia(***).Methods:Qualitative phytochemical analysis of extracts,fractions or compound was performed by means of thin layer chromatography and spectroscopic ***%purity of compound was measured by analytical ***,fractions or compound have been individually evaluated for their cytotoxicity effects(10,20,100,250,500,750 and 1 000 μg/mL).Based on the inhibitory concentration(IC_(50)) obtained from the cell viability assay,graded concentrations of extracts,fractions or isolated compound were assessed(10,20,50,100,200 μg/mL) for its hepatoprotective potential against CCl_4-induced hepatotoxicity by monitoring activity levels of serum glutamatic pyruvatic transaminase(SGPT) and serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase(SGOT).Results:Results indicated that the methanol extract of *** was non-toxic and hepatoprotective in nature as compared with the petroleum ether *** acetone fraction of methanolic extract also showed similar properties but the subsequent two fractions were ***,the pure compound isolated from the penultimate fraction of methanolic extract was non-toxic and hepatoprotective in *** investigations(SCOT,SCPT) further corroborated these cytological ***:It can be concluded from this study that *** methanol extract,some fractions and pure isolated compound herein exhibit hepatoprotective ***,cytotoxicity recorded in the penultimate fraction and investigation of structural details of pure compound warrants further study.

The gas chromatographic separations of aromatic compounds using special mixed stationary phases consisting of pp-beta-CD+AgnO3, pp-beta-CD+TInO3, pp-beta-CD+di-n-butly phthalate, pp-beta-CD+BPBHpB liquid crystalline, and bentone-34+AgnO3 were investigated. Besides pp-beta-CD+di-n-butyl phthalate, most of the separations deviated from the additivity and a synergistic effect was observed. The separation effects depend on the temperature and how mixing is accomplished.

Analysis of the elastic scattering of protons from 12C nuclei had been performed within the framework of both the optical model and single folding model at different proton energies;17, 30.3, 40, 49.48 and 61.4 MeV. We have obtained the global potential parameters which could fairly reproduce the experimental data for p+12C elastic scattering at the aforementioned energies. The radial and energy dependence of the real and imaginary parts of the potential were calculated. Good agreement between experimental data and theoretical predictions in the whole angular range was obtained using both phenomenological approach (Optical Model), and semi-microscopic approach (Single Folding). In single folding calculations, the real part of the potential was calculated from a more fundamental basis by the folding method in which the nn interaction Vnn(r), is folded into the density of the target nuclei and supplemented with a phenomenological imaginary potential. The obtained normalization factor nr is in the range of 0.75 - 0.9.

Cleaning method of InSb [111] B of n-InSb [111] A/B for the growth of epitaxial layers by liquid phase epitaxy

The crystal structure of InSb [111] A/B surfaces shows that this structure is polarized. This means that the surfaces of InSb [111] A and InSb [1^-1^- 1^-] B contain two different crystallized directions and they have different physical and chemical properties. Experiments were carried out on the InSb [ 111 ] A/B surfaces, showing that tartaric acid etchant could create a very smooth surface on the InSb [1^-1^- 1^-] B without any traces of oxides and etch pit but simultaneously create etch pit on InSb [ 111 ] A surfaces. After lapping and polishing, some particles remained on the InSb [1^-1^- 1^-] B surface, they could not be removed easily by standard cleaning process and if these particles remain on the surface of the substrate, the growth layer was not uniform and some island-like regions were observed. The purpose of this work is to remove these particles on the lnSb [1^-1^- 1^-] B surface. Some morphology images of both surfaces, InSb [11 1] A/B, will be presented.

Surface Preparation is very important in adhesive b on ding of spray coatings to the surface of a work piece. The common practice is gr it-blasting of the surface before subjecting it to the spray coating process. In this study, grit-blasting of an AISI 4130 steel (of different heat treatmen ts) with Al 2O 3 particles was studied. Various grit-blasting parameters such as blasting particle size, the distance between blasting nozzle and the work pi ece (25, 30 and 40 cm.), blasting pressure (3,4,5,6 and 7 bars), blasting time ( 3, 6 and 10 seconds), and the blasting angle (45° and 90°) were examined in or der to find the optimum roughness. The mean roughness (Ra) of the grit-blasted surfaces were measured and the vari ations of the roughness with respect to the above mentioned variables were studi ed. The results show that by increasing blasting time, surface roughness increas es up to a maximum and then slightly decreases it with further duration of t he process. On the other hand a lengthy blasting causes some undesirable results such as an increase in residual particles between surface irregularities. There fore an optimum blasting time is of great importance. Increasing the blasting pr essure also provides a rougher surface, but in grit blasting of harder specimens the surface roughness decreases when the pressure reaches a certain limit. About the blasting angle, it was noticed that an angle of 45° results in less r esidual particles between the surface irregularities, in comparison to the angle of 90°. After grit-blasting, the specimens were plasma spray coated with 80% ZrO 2-20 % Y 2O 3 powder. The adhesive strength of the coating to the substrate was the n measured according to the DIn 50160 standard. The results show that for a certain base metal, the adhesive strength is directl y related to the surface roughness of the base material.
