Biochemical changes in phenols,flavonoids,tannins,vitamin E,β-carotene and antioxidant activity during soaking of three white sorghum varieties

Objective:To investigate the changes in total phenols,flavonoids,tannins,vitamin E, β-carotene and antioxidant activity during soaking of three white sorghum ***: The changes in total phenols,total ilavonoids,tannins,phenolic acids compounds,flavonoid components,vitamin E,P-carotene and antioxidant activity during soaking of sorghum grains were ***:Total phenols,total flavonoids,tannins,vitamin E,P-carotene and antioxidant activity in raw sorghum were ranged from 109.21 to 116.70,45.91 to 54.69,1.39 to 21.79 mg/100 g,1.74 to 5.25,0.54 to 1.19 mg/kg and 21.72%to 27.69%and 25.29%to 31.97%,respectively. The above measured compounds were significantly decreased after soaking.p-Hydroxybenzoic acid,vanillic acid,syringic acid and cinnamic acid represent the major phenolic acids in Dorado *** ferulic acid,p-coumaric acid,gallic acid and caffeic acid represent the major phenolic acids in *** the other hand,protocatechuic acid represents the major phenolic acids in *** flavonoids components,Dorado was the highest variety in kampferol and naringenin while Shandaweel-6 was the highest variety in luteolin, apigenin,hypersoid,quercelin and ***,Giza-15 was the highest variety in catechin. Phenolic acids,flavonoid compounds and antioxidant activities were decreased after soaking. Conclusions:Sorghum varieties have moderate quantities from total phenols,total flavonoids, tannins,phenolic acids compounds,flavonoid components,vitamin E,P-carotene and antioxidant activity which decreased after soaking.

Recently,nano-systems based on molecular communications via diffusion(MCvD)have been implemented in a variety of nanomedical applications,most notably in targeted drug delivery system(TDDS)***,because the MCvD is unreliable and there exists molecular noise and inter symbol interference(ISI),cooperative nano-relays can acquire the reliability for drug delivery to targeted diseased cells,especially if the separation distance between the nano transmitter and nano receiver is *** this work,we propose an approach for optimizing the performance of the nano system using cooperative molecular communications with a nano relay scheme,while accounting for blood flow effects in terms of drift *** fractions of the molecular drug that should be allocated to the nano transmitter and nano relay positioning are computed using a collaborative optimization problem solved by theModified Central Force Optimization(MCFO)*** the previous work,the probability of bit error is expressed in a closed-form *** is used as an objective function to determine the optimal velocity of the drug molecules and the detection threshold at the nano *** simulation results show that the probability of bit error can be dramatically reduced by optimizing the drift velocity,detection threshold,location of the nano-relay in the proposed nano system,and molecular drug budget.

This paper presents an experimental investigation on the flexural behavior of cross-connected brick masonry infill wall panels supported on reinforced concrete beam grids above and below the *** experimental program was comprised of six wall *** effect of change in lower beam stiffness relative to the wall and the geometry of the main walls were *** the results of the experimental tests,the increase in the depth of the lower beam grid reduces the deflection,resulting in an increase in the load carrying capacity of the ***,the stiffness of the main walls affects the deflection and the failure load of the cross walls.

Dye removal using some surface modified silicate minerals

The objective of this work is to study the efficiency of some surface modified phyllosilicate minerals （bentonite and glauconite） in the removal of dyes from textile waste water. It is found that complete dye removal was achieved by using 10-25g modified glauconite from solutions having a dye concentration of 10-50 mg/L. Adsorption data were modeled using Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin and Dubinin-Radushkevich isotherms. Adsorption capacities and optimum adsorption isotherms were predicted by linear regression method. The analysis of experimental isotherms showed that Langmuir isotherm reasonably fit the experimental data in the studied concentration range for the adsorption of dye onto glauconite mineral surface where Freundlich isotherm fit the experimental data for the adsorption of dve onto bentonite mineral surface.

Effect of initial stress on dispersion relation for transverse surface waves circulating around a piezoelectric cylinder covered with a perfectly conducting layer is *** overlay materials are considered:namely,Gold and *** piezoelectric substrate is considered to have the symmetry of a hexagonal crystal,and the layer is a perfectly *** dispersion equation has been derived for the two overlays materials in the form of determinant involving Bessel *** roots of the dispersion equation give the values of the characteristic circular frequency parameters of the first three modes for various *** roots are numerically calculated by"Bisection method iterations technique"and presented graphically for various thickness of the overlayer and for different values of the initial *** effect of the initial stress on the natural frequencies is illustrated on the *** is found that both the thickness of the overlayer and the initial stress have a substantial effect on the dispersion ***,it is seen that dispersion relation for a PZT-4 core covered by A Gold is much smaller than of the Aluminum *** results obtained in this paper not only may help us insight into the electro-mechanical coupling behavior of the piezoelectric composites cylinders,but also can offer theoretical basis and meaningful suggestion for the design of piezoelectric probes and electro-acoustic devices in the nondestructive evaluation ***,the results are compared graphically when the overlay is Gold or Aluminum and with those do not have initial stress and electric field which have been studied in the classical cases.

Detection of Salmonella typhimurium in retail chicken meat and chicken giblets

Objective:To detect Salmonella typhimurium(***),one of the most frequently isolated serovars from food borne outbreaks throughout the world,in retail raw chicken meat and ***:One hundred samples of retail raw chicken meat and giblets(Liver,heart and gizzard)which were collected from Assiut city markets for detection of the organism and by using Duplex PCR amplification of DnA using rfbj andfliC ***:*** was detected at rate of 44%,40%and 48%in chicken meat,liver and heart,respectively,but not detected in ***:The results showed high incidence of *** in the examined samples and greater emphasis should be applied on prevention and control of contamination during processing for reducing food-borne risks to consumers.

Impacts of produced water origin on bacterial community structures of activated sludge

The purpose of this study was to reveal how activated sludge communities respond to influent quality and indigenous communities by treating two produced waters from different origins in a batch reactor in succession. The community shift and compositions were investigated using Polymerase Chain Reaction–denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis（PCR–DGGE） and further16 S ribosomal DnA（r DnA） clone library analysis. The abundance of targeted genes for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon（PAH） degradation, nah Ac/phn Ac and C12O/C23 O, was tracked to define the metabolic ability of the in situ microbial community by Most Probable number（MPn） PCR. The biosystem performed almost the same for treatment of both produced waters in terms of removals of chemical oxygen demand（COD） and PAHs. Sludge communities were closely associated with the respective influent bacterial communities（similarity 〉 60%）, while one sludge clone library was dominated by the Betaproteobacteria（38%） and Bacteriodetes（30%）and the other was dominated by Gammaproteobacteria（52%）. This suggested that different influent and water quality have an effect on sludge community compositions. In addition, the existence of catabolic genes in sludge was consistent with the potential for degradation of PAHs in the treatment of both produced waters.

Spectral collocation method for solving continuous population models for single and interacting species by means of exponential Chebyshev approximation

In this paper, an efficient and accurate method is presented to solve continuous population models for single and interacting species using spectral collocation method with exponential Chebyshev (EC) functions. The first problem is a logistic growth model in a population, while the second problem is a prey-predator model: Lotka-Volterra system, the tbird is a simple 2-species Lotka-Volterra competition model, and the final one is a prey-predator model with limit cycle periodic behavior. The high accuracy of this method is verified through some numerical examples. The obtained numerical results are compared with other methods, showing that the proposed method gives higher accuracy.
