Laser and Fluorescence Properties of Organic Dye DCM Doped Sol-Gel-Derived Solid-State Materials

Two kinds of new Ormosil xerogels derived from GPTMS (3-glycidyl propyl trimethoxisilane) and TEOS (tetraethoxysilane) or GPTMS and Ti(OBu)4 (tetrabutoxytitanate) were synthesized viathe sol-gel method as dye laser host. Their optical properties, microstructure characteristics and sudece laser damage thresholds have been reported. The effects of dye matrix combination on the fluorescence emission, slope efficiency, photostability and tunable bandwidth were *** oscillation was easily achieved near 620 nm with a slope efficiency of 29% from DCM dopedSiO2-Ormosil pumped by a frequency-doubled radiation from a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser. The relaxation of temperature,coupling parameters,the excess part of equation of state,and the correlation energy of the non-isothermal hot dense plasmas are considered on the basis of the method of effective interaction *** electroneion effective interaction potential for the hot dense plasma is *** accuracy of description of the dense plasma properties by the effective electroneion interaction potential is demonstrated by the agreement of the derived quantities like stopping power and transport coefficients calculated using our methodology with the results of the finite-temperature kohn-Sham density-functional theory molecular dynamics,and orbital-free molecular dynamics results as well as with the data obtained using other theoretical approaches.

There is a rapidly rising trend in the development and application of molecular marker assays for gene map- ping and discovery in field crops and trees. Thus far, more than 50 SNP arrays and 15 different types of genotyping-by-sequencing （GBS） platforms have been developed in over 25 crop species and perennial trees. However, much less effort has been made on developing ultra-high-throughput and cost-effective genotyping platforms for applied breeding programs. In this review, we discuss the scientific bottlenecks in existing SNP arrays and GBS technologies and the strategies to develop targeted platforms for crop mo- lecular breeding. We propose that future practical breeding platforms should adopt automated genotyping technologies, either array or sequencing based, target functional polymorphisms underpinning economic traits, and provide desirable prediction accuracy for quantitative traits, with universal applications under wide genetic backgrounds in crops. The development of such platforms faces serious challenges at both the technological level due to cost ineffectiveness, and the knowledge level due to large genotype- phenotype gaps in crop plants. It is expected that such genotyping platforms will be achieved in the next ten years in major crops in consideration of （a） rapid development in gene discovery of important traits, （b） deepened understanding of quantitative traits through new analytical models and population designs, （c） integration of multi-layer -omics data leading to identification of genes and pathways responsible for important breeding traits, and （d） improvement in cost effectiveness of large-scale genotyping. Crop breeding chips and genotyping platforms will provide unprecedented opportunities to accelerate the development of cultivars with desired yield potential, quality, and enhanced adaptation to mitigate the effects of climate change.

Monitoring results for the period 2009-2014 by ten standard GPS stations allowed to determine the crustal movements of seismically active region in south-eastern kazakhstan. Maps of movement velocity were made in geocentric coordinate system and in reference system of the Eurasian continent. GPS points displacements reflect the features of modern deformation processes that are notable in the high seismic activity region. The structure of the velocity field divergence qualitatively confirms major deformation in the sublatitudinal direction which is parallel to the main ridge of the northern Tianshan Mountain. The epicenters of earthquakes are in agreement with the border areas of compression -tension, as well as the allocated areas of multidirectional rotary motion. The conclusion is that GPS monitoring of the movements of the Earth＇s crust can be used to evaluate the territory＇s stress-strain state for the purpose of seismic zoning and seismic risk assessment.

Calcium ion is a versatile second messenger for diverse cell signaling in response to developmental and environmental cues. The specificity of Ca^2＋-mediated signaling is defined by stimulus-elicited Ca^2＋ signature and down-stream decoding processes. Here, an Aequorin-based luminescence recording system was developed for monitoring Ca^2＋ in response to various stimuli in Arabidopsis. With the simple, highly sensitive, and robust Ca^2＋ recording, this system revealed stimulus-and tissue-specific Ca^2＋ signatures in seedlings. Cellular Ca^2＋ dynamics and relationship to Aequorin-based Ca^2＋ recording were explored using a GFP-based Ca^2＋ indicator, which suggested that a synchronous cellular Ca^2＋ signal is responsible for cold-induced Ca^2＋ response in seedlings, whereas asynchronous Ca^2＋ oscillation contributes to osmotic stress-induced Ca^2＋ increase in seedlings. The optimized recording system would be a powerful tool for the iden-tification and characterization of novel components in Ca^2＋ -mediated stress-signaling pathways,

Fast magnetic energy dissipation in relativistic plasma induced by high order laser modes

Fast magnetic field annihilation in a collisionless plasma is induced by using TEM(1,0) laser pulse. The magnetic quadrupole structure formation, expansion and annihilation stages are demonstrated with 2.5-dimensional particle-in-cell simulations. The magnetic field energy is converted to the electric field and accelerate the particles inside the annihilation plane. A bunch of high energy electrons moving backwards is detected in the current sheet. The strong displacement current is the dominant contribution which induces the longitudinal inductive electric field.

The increasing demand in the diverse device applications of transparent conducting oxides （TCOs） requires synthesis of new TCOs of n- or p-type conductivity. This article is about materials engineering of ZnO-SnO2- In2O3-Ga2O3 to synthesize powders of the quaternary compound Zn2-xSn1-xlnxGaxO4-δ in the stoichiometry of x = 0.2, 0.3, and 0.4 by solid state reaction at 1275℃. Lattice parameters were determined by X-ray diffraction （XRD） technique and solubility of In3＋ and Ga3＋ in spinel Zn2SnO4 was found at 1275℃. The solubility limit of In3＋ and Ga3＋ in Zn2SnO4 is found at below x = 0.4. The optical transmittance approximated by the UV-Vis reflectance spectra showed excellent characteristics while optical band gap was consistent across 3.2 eV with slight decrease along increasing x value. Carrier mobility of the species was considerably higher than the older versions of zinc stannate spinel co-substitutions whereas the carrier concentrations were moderate.
