Tricin (and tricin containing plant extracts) has been shown to exert a pronounced antiviral activity, high radical scavenging activity and is favored for its safety profile. In the present study we have analyzed the pharmacokinetics of tricin after a single intravenous and oral administration to Wistar rats of an ethanol extract of Calamagrostis Adans and Deschampsia Beauv plants (test agent) at different doses. Tricin concentrations in blood plasma and blood cells were measured at different time points. Two-compartment (for intravenous injection) and one compartment (for oral administration) models were used for the analysis of tricin pharmacokinetics. The results showed that the pharmacokinetics of tricin after intravenous injection of test agent has a pronounced biphasic character, is well described by a two-compartment pharmacokinetic model, and is characterized by non-linear dose-dependence. The pharmacokinetics of tricin administered orally is characterized by a high rate of absorption from the gastrointestinal tract into the blood and rather slow elimination, which leads to a large volume of distribution in the body and a fairly high bioavailability. The obtained results indicate the advantages of the oral route of administration over the intravenous route.

China has started to deploy its Belt and Road Initiative(BRI)in the European Union(EU),and the EU in turn has regional and global interests that intersect with the BRI's *** to future adjustments of China s BRI strategy,the initiative s potential contribution to the EU requirements for infrastructure development could be significant,even though its modalities in the EU are inevitably different from those in countries that are poorer or have more difficult financial market *** EU's attitude to the BRI,however,has not yet fully *** superficial similarities in public discourses,the EU has a profoundly distinct perspective from that of the Us on the BRI,and more generally on the rise of China and its growing global *** the EU,the BRI generates challenges but also potential *** EU should improve its ability to welcome sensible BRI projects,including through the adoption of greater reform of screening frameworks for foreign direct *** generally,the EU should enhance its ability to define policies independent of the Us on China and the challenges resulting from China’s *** should also make further efforts to foster a constructive relationship with the EU.

Objectives: Although people with amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI) benefit from cerebrolysin treatment, some still develop dementia. The aim of the current study was to identify most informative clinical assessment tests to predict the therapy efficacy in aMCI subjects treated with cerebrolysin. Methods: We studied patients with amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI;n = 53) who had regular neurocognitive and clinical psychiatric assessments and were treated with cerebrolysin i.v. infusions 20 × 30 ml twice a year over three years period. Data were analyzed using non-parametric statistics, cluster and linear discriminant analyses. Results: Combined mathematical modeling enabled to predict cognitive decline from aMCI to dementia in the cerebrolysin-treated patients based on their initial neurocognitive assessment scores. We identified a “dementia risk group” with fast cognitive decline (i.e. low efficacy of the treatment). Lower baseline scores in the Mattis Dementia Rating scale Memory subtest, Mini-Mental state Examination (MMsE), 10 word list immediate recall, and Frontal Assessment Battery tests when accompanied by higher depression score (Hamilton Depression Rating scale) suggest poor prognosis for aMCI patients treated with cerebrolysin. Changes in scores on the MMsE, Boston naming test, Digit span forward, and Wechsler scale subtest “Categorical associations” during the treatment course are more characteristic for patients who convert to dementia than their initial scores. Conclusions: aMCI subjects treated with cerebrolysin with lower baseline cognitive functioning and subclinical depression have poor prognosis in terms of converting to dementia. Changes in the MMsE, Boston naming test, Digit span forward, and Wechsler scale subtest “Categorical associations” scores during the treatment course are more informative to identify patients who will develop dementia than their initial scores.
