This study investigated the hot corrosion performance of a dissimilar weldment of Ni-based superalloy and stainless steel joined by CO2-laser welding and improved by high-velocity oxy-fuel(HvOF)coating in a Na2SO4-60wt%v2O5 environment at 900℃.A dissimilar butt joint of AISI 321 and alloy 825 was fabricated by CO2-laser welding with low heat input after obtaining the optimum welding parameters by bead-on-plate *** metallurgical and mechanical properties of the laser weldment were *** tensile test results indicated the occurrence of fracture in the base metal AISI 321 *** HvOF process was employed to coat Ni-20wt%Cr on the *** evaluate the surface morphology of the corrosion products formed on the uncoated and Ni-20wt%Cr-coated weldments,scanning electron microscopy(SEM)analysis was ***-dispersive spectroscopy(EDS)was used to determine the different elements present on the surface *** existence of oxide phases on the weldments was determined by X-ray diffraction(XRD).The cross sections of the weldments were characterized by SEM with EDS line mapping *** results indicated that the Ni-20wt%Cr-coated weldment exhibited superior hot corrosion resistance due to the development of Cr2O3 and NiCr2O4 protective oxide scales.

This paper investigates the effects of pH on stability and thermal properties of copper oxide(CuO),graphene oxide(GO),and their hybrid nanofluid(HNF)at different mixing ***,sol-gel and Hummer’s method was employed for the synthesis of CuO and GO nanoparticles(NPs),and they are characterized with various *** effects of two different surfactants were analyzed on nanofluid’s(NF’s)stability at different pH *** properties like thermal conductivity(TC)and viscosity(vST)of NFs were measured at different volume concentration(0.1 vol%to 1.0 vol%)and temperature range of 30-60℃,*** TC and vST of GO/CuO(50:50)HNF are higher than that of GO/CuO(20:80).The figure of merit(FOM)is determined for the studied *** correlations were presented to calculate the TC as well as vST of *** modern novel machine learning-based ensemble approaches were employed for predictive model development for TC and vST of considered *** comparison of prognostic models with Taylor’s diagram revealed that Bayesian optimized support vector machine(BoASvM)was superior to Bayesian optimized boosted regression trees(BoA-BRT)for both TC and vST models.

Critical role of OX40 signaling in the TCR-independent phase of human and murine thymic Treg generation

Regulatory T cells(Tregs)play a pivotal role in immune-tolerance,and loss of Treg function can lead to the development of *** Tregs generated in the thymus substantially contribute to the Treg pool in the periphery,where they suppress self-reactive effector T cells(Teff)***,we showed that OX40L(TNFSF4)is able to drive selective proliferation of peripheral Tregs independent of canonical antigen presentation(CAP-independent)in the presence of low-dose ***,we hypothesized that OX40 signaling might be integral to the TCR-independent phase of murine and human thymic Treg(tTreg)*** of tTregs is a two-step process:Strong T-cell receptor(TCR)signals in combination with co-signals from the TNFRSF members facilitate tTreg precursor selection,followed by a TCR-independent phase of tTreg development in which their maturation is driven by ***,we investigated whether OX40 signaling could also play a critical role in the TCR-independent phase of tTreg ***40−/−mice had significantly reduced numbers of CD25−Foxp3low tTreg precursors and CD25+Foxp3+mature tTregs,while OX40L treatment of WT mice induced significant proliferation of these cell *** to tTeff cells,OX40 was expressed at higher levels in both murine and human tTreg precursors and mature *** ex vivo cultures,OX40L increased tTreg maturation and induced CAP-independent proliferation of both murine and human tTregs,which was mediated through the activation of AkT-mTOR *** novel findings show an evolutionarily conserved role for OX40 signaling in tTreg development and proliferation,and might enable the development of novel strategies to increase Tregs and suppress autoimmunity.

Geochemical assessment of a siliceous limestone sample for cement making

A low grade siliceous limestone sample from the Jayantipuram mine of Andhra Pradesh, India, has been investigated for its suitability for cement making. Petrological as well as X-ray diffraction pattern studies indicated that the limestone sample was crystalline and dominantly composed of calcite and quartz. They are simple in mineralogy, and yet they have variable silica and lime contents. Geochemical analysis results of twenty five hand picked samples indicated that the limestone from the Jayantipuram mine shows a wide range of variations in LOI (29.94% to 40.64%), SiO2 (6.14% to 27.18%), CaO (37.93% to 50.78%), Al2O3 (0.49% to 2.27%) and Fe2O3 (0.28% to 2.4%). MgO, k2O, Na2O, TiO2 and MnO2 are present in traces. CaO with LOI shows a strong positive correlation where as CaO with SiO2 shows a strong negative correlation because of mineralogical factors. The chemical composition of the limestone reflects its mineralogical composition. The distribution of various elements in the acid-soluble fraction has been studied by the factor analysis method in order to interpret in terms of their mineralogy, sedimentary environment and diagenesis. Mineralogy, recrystallization and other diagenetic changes are the main factors affecting the distribution of the elements and their mutual relationships in the limestone. The aim of this paper is also to analyze how significantly the two parameters, silica modulus and lime saturation factor, influence this low grade siliceous limestone sample from the Jayantipuram mine of Andhra Pradesh, India, for the cement making process from the geochemical data.

Assessing the Impacts of Climate Change on Crop Yields in Different Agro-climatic Zones of India

The study attempts to estimate and predict climate impact on crop yields using future temperature projections under two climate emissions scenarios of RCP 4.5 and 8.5 for three different time periods(2030s,2050s and 2080s)across Agro-climatic zones(ACZ)of *** the period 1966-2011,a significant rise was observed in both the annual mean maximum and minimum temperature across *** recorded an annual decline in Himalayan Regions and Gangetic Plains and a rise in Coastal Regions,Plateau&Hills and Western Dry *** results showed high heterogeneity in climate impact on kharif and rabi crop yields(with both negative and positive estimates)across *** was found that rainfall had a positive effect on most of crop yields,but was not sufficient enough to counterbalance the impact of *** in crop yield were more pronounced for higher emission scenario of RCP ***,it was evident that the relative impacts of climate change and the associated vulnerability vary by ACZs,hence comprehensive crop and region-specific adaptation measures should be emphasized that helps in enhancing resilience of agricultural system in short to medium term.

Traditional brachytherapy refers to the placement of radioactive sources on or inside the cancer *** on the type of sources,brachytherapy can be classified as radionuclide and electronic *** brachytherapy uses miniaturized X-raysources instead of radionuclides to deliver high doses of *** advantages of electronic brachytherapy include low dose to organs at risk,reduced dose to treating staff,no leakage radiation in off state,less shielding,and no radioactive *** of these systems operate between 50 and 100 k vp and are widely used in the treatment of skin ***,Xoft and Papillon systems are also used in the treatment of intra-operative radiotherapy to breast in addition to other treatment *** rapid fall-off in the dose due to its low energy is a highly desirable property in brachytherapy and results in a reduced dose to the surrounding normal tissues compared to the Ir-192 *** Xoft Axxent brachytherapy system uses a 2.25 mm miniaturized X-ray tube and the source almost mimics the high dose rate Ir-192 source in terms of dose rate and it is the only electronic brachytherapy system specifically used in the treatment of cervical *** of the limiting factors that impede the use of electronic brachytherapy for interstitial application is the source ***,it is highly anticipated that the design of miniaturized X-ray tube closer to the dimension of an Ir-192 wire is not too far away,and the new era of electronic brachytherapy has just begun.

Modeling of Canonical Switching Cell Converter Using Genetic Algorithm

The working of Canonical switching cell(CSC)converter was studied and its equivalent circuit during ON and OFF states were *** space model of CSC converter in ON and OFF states were developed using the kirchhoff *** state space matrices were used to construct the transfer functions of ON&OFF *** step response of the converter was simulated using *** step response curve was obtained using different values of circuit components(L,C1,C2 and RL)and *** characteristic parameters such as rise time,overshoot,settling time,steady state error and stability were determined using the step response *** response curve shows that there is no overshoot;the rise time and settling time are very low as expected for a converter and its stability is very high but the amplitude is *** circuit was tuned to attain the expected amplitude using PID controller with the help of Genetic *** excellent results of circuits’characteristic parameters are very useful guideline for constructing such CSC converters for DC-DC *** circuit characteristic parameters are useful in constructing such CSC converters for DCDC conversions in driving solar energy using solar panel.

目的:检测尾穗苋(Amaranthus caudatus)甲醇提取物对扑热息痛致大鼠肝损伤的保护作用。方法:5组大鼠分别给予羧甲基纤维素钠、扑热息痛、尾穗苋甲醇提取物(200或400mg/kg)并扑热息痛、水飞蓟素并扑热息痛。给药14d后采集大鼠血样进行血液生化检查,而后处死大鼠,收集各组大鼠肝脏组织样本供组织病理学检查。检测的指标包括肝功能标志物如丙氨酸氨基转移酶(alanine aminotransferase,ALT)、天门冬氨酸氨基转移酶(aspartate aminotransferase,AST)、血清白蛋白(albumin,ALB)、总蛋白(total protein,TP)、总胆红素(total bilirubin,TB)和直接胆红素(direct bilirubin,DB)及氧化损伤标志物如丙二醛(malondialdehyde,MDA)、还原型谷胱甘肽(reduced glutathione,GSH)、总硫醇(total thiols,TT)和过氧化氢酶(catalase,CAT)。结果:与未治疗组相比,浓度为200和400mg/kg的尾穗苋甲醇提取物均能显著改善由扑热息痛引起的大鼠肝损伤,改善扑热息痛导致的ALT、AST、TB和DB水平升高及血清ALB水平降低(Pkg的尾穗苋甲醇提取物能够显著降低扑热息痛导致的MDA及TP水平增高(P<0.01),并显著升高GSH、CAT及TT水平(P<0.01)。大鼠肝脏组织病理学检查的结果也证实了尾穗苋甲醇提取物对大鼠肝脏的保护作用。结论:本研究证实了尾穗苋的甲醇提取物对于扑热息痛引起的大鼠肝损伤具有显著的保护作用,证实了其在民族医学中治疗肝病的药用价值。
