Although lithium-air batteries(LABs)are considered the promising alternative of existing lithium–ion batteries owing to their high energy density of 11680 W h kg^(-1),their practical applications are limited by the technical issues,such as unstable solid electrolyte interface and dendrite formation from metal anode and insufficient bifunctional activities and durability from cathode *** order to resolve these bottlenecks,carbon nanostructures have been investigated owing to their high surface area,excellent electrical conductivity,electrochemical stability,and various modification ***,we comprehensively review a recent progress on the design of carbon nanostructures for their applications into metal hosts,protection layers,and bifunctional electrocatalysts of *** correlation between the crystalline,electronic,porous,and chemical structures and the electrochemical properties of carbon nanomaterials are discussed depending on their classification and *** chemical modifications,such as morphological control,hierarchical architecturing,heteroatom incorporation,and the formation of composites,for the improved electrochemical performances of anode and cathode will be also ***,we deal with the perspectives for the ongoing obstruction and future guidance.

Update on hepatitis B virus infection

Chronic infection with hepatitis B virus (HBV) leads to the development of hepatocellular carcinoma and/or chronic liver failure. Despite extensive research, the immunopathogenesis is not completely understood. Viral persistence and clinical outcomes following HBV infection depend on viral factors and host factors; including genetic factors that determine a host’s immune mechanisms. the primary goal of chronic hepatitis B (CHB) treatment is to eradicate HBV or to at least maintain suppression of HBV replication. Despite recent advances in anti-viral agents for chronic HBV infection, complete eradication of the virus has been difficult to achieve. Agents for the treatment of CHB are divided mainly into two groups: immunomodulating agents and antiviral nucleos(t)ide analogues (NAs). Although NAs are safe, effective and easily administered orally, their long-term use poses the risk of drug resistance. Currently, international evidence-based guidelines have been developed to support physicians in managing CHB patients. However, treatment of patients with drug resistance is still challenging, as only a few classes of anti-HBV drugs are available and cross-resistance between drugs can occur. In addition, as the currently available genotypic test for detection of drug resistance still has limitations in identifying the different substitutions present in the same viral genome, the development of a new virologic test to overcome this limitation is necessary. Among the predictive factors associated with response to pegylated interferon (PEG-IFN) therapy, hepatitis B surface antigen quantification is considered to be a surrogate marker for monitoring response to PEG-IFN. Current practice guidelines stress the importance of profound and durable HBV viral suppression in the treatment of CHB patients. to this end, it is essential to choose a potent antiviral drug with a low risk of resistance for initial treatment of CHB to achieve sustained virological response. this rev

Systematic review on the surgical treatment for t1 gallbladder cancer

AIM:to evaluate the efficacy of simple and extended cholecystectomy for mucosa(t1a) or muscularis(t1b) gallbladder(GB) cancer. MEtHODS:Original studies on simple and extended cholecystectomy for t1a or t1b GB cancer were searched from MEDLINE(PubMed) ,Cochrane Library,EMBase,and CancerLit using the search terms of GB,cancer/carcinoma/tumor/neoplasm. RESULtS:twenty-nine out of the 2312 potentially relevant publications met the eligibility *** the 1266 patients with GB cancer included in the publications,706(55.8%) and 560(44.2%) had t1a and t1b GB cancer,*** cholecystectomy for t1a and t1b GB cancer was performed in 590(83.6%) and 375(67.0%) patients,respectively(Pt series,the treatment of choice was simple cholecystectomy for t1a GB cancer patients with a 5-year survival rate of 100%.Lymph node metastasis was detected in 10.9% of the t1b GB cancer patients and in 1.8%of the t1a GB cancer patients,respectively(Pt patients(1.1%) with t1a GB cancer and 52 patients(9.3%) with t1b GB cancer died of recurrent GB cancer(Ptectomy represents the adequate treatment of t1a GB *** is no definite evidence that extended cholecystectomy is advantageous over simple cholecystectomy for t1b GB cancer.

Presence of CCk-A, B receptors and effect of gastrin and cholecystokinin on growth of pancreatobiliary cancer cell lines

AIM: to investigate the effects of gastrin and cholecystokinin (CCk) and their specific antagonists on the growth of pancreatic and biliary tract cancer cell lines. MEtHODS: Five pancreatic and 6 biliary cancer cell lines with 2 conrtol cells were used in this study. Cell proliferation study was done using 3-[4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide (Mtt) test and direct cell count method. Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (Rt-PCR) and slot blot hybridization were performed to examine and quantify the expression of hormonal receptors in these cell lines. RESULtS: SNU-308 showed a growth stimulating effect by gastrin-17, as did SNU-478 by both gastrin-17 and CCk-8. the trophic effect of these two hormones was completely blocked by specific antagonists (L-365, 260 for gastrin and L-364, 718 for CCk). Other cell lines did not respond to gastrin or CCk. In Rt-PCR, the presence of CCk-A receptor and CCk-B/gastrin receptor mRNA was detected in all biliary and pancreatic cancer cell lines. In slot blot hybridization, compared to the cell lines which did not respond to hormones, those that responded to hormones showed high expression of receptor mRNA. CONCLUSION: Gastrin and CCk exert a trophic action on some of the biliary tract cancers.

Role of a wireless surface electromyography in dystonic gait in functional movement disorders: A case report

BACkGROUND Dystonic gait(DG) is one of clinical symptoms associated with functional dystonia in the functional movement disorders(FMDs). Dystonia is often initiated or worsened by voluntary action and associated with overflow muscle activation. there is no report for DG in FMDs caused by an abnormal pattern in the ankle muscle recruitment strategy during *** SUMMARY A 52-year-old male patient presented with persistent limping gait. When we requested him to do dorsiflexion and plantar flexion of his ankle in the standing and seating positions, we didn’t see any abnormality. However, we could see the DG during the gait. there were no evidences of common peroneal neuropathy and L5 radiculopathy in the electrodiagnostic study. Magnetic resonance imaging of the lumbar spine, lower leg, and brain had no definite finding. No specific finding was seen in the neurologic examination. For further evaluation, a wireless surface electromyography(EMG) was performed. During the gait, EMG amplitude of left medial and lateral gastrocnemius(GCM) muscles was larger than right medial and lateral GCM muscles. When we analyzed EMG signals for each muscle, there were EMG bursts of double-contraction in the left medial and lateral GCM muscles, while EMG analysis of right medial and lateral GCM muscles noted regular bursts of single contraction. We could find a cause of DG in *** We report an importance of a wireless surface EMG, in which other examination didn’t reveal the cause of DG in FMDs.

Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging findings of metastatic rectal linitis plastica from prostate cancer:A case report and review of literature

Linitis plastica is a rare condition showing circumferentially infiltrating intramural anaplastic carcinoma in a hollow viscus, resulting in a tissue thickening of the involved organ as constricted, inelastic, and rigid. While most secondary rectal linitis plastica(RLP) is caused by metastasis from stomach, breast, gallbladder, or bladder cancer, we report an extremely rare and unique case of secondary RLP due to prostate cancer with computed tomography(Ct) and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) findings, including diffusion weighted imaging(DWI). A 78-year-old man presented with approximately a 2-mo history of constipation and without cancer history. On sigmoidoscopy, there was a luminal narrowing and thickening of rectum with mucosa being grossly normal in its appearance. On contrast-enhanced Ct,marked contrast enhancement with wall thickening of rectum was noted. On pelvic MRI, rectal wall thickening showed a target sign on both t2-weighted imaging and DWI. A diffuse infiltrative lesion was suspected in the prostate gland based on low signal intensity on t2-weighted imaging and restricted diffusion. A transanal full-thickness excisional biopsy revealed metastasis from a prostate adenocarcinoma invading the submucosa to the muscularis propria consistent with metastatic RLP. We would like to emphasize the Ct and MRI findings of metastatic RLP due to prostate cancer.

Design of small-area and high-efficiency DC-DC converter for 1 t SRAM

the direct current-direct current （DC-DC） converter is designed for 1 t static random access memory （SRAM） used in display driver integrated circuits （ICs）, which consists of positive word-line voltage （VpwL）, negative word-line voltage （VinyL） and half-VDD voltage （VHDo） generator. to generate a process voltage temperature （PVt）-insensitive VpWL and VNWL, a set of circuits were proposed to generate reference voltages using bandgap reference current generators for respective voltage level detectors. Also, a VOWL regulator and a VNWL charge pump were proposed for a small-area and low-power design. the proposed VpwL regulator can provide a large driving current with a small area since it regulates an input voltage （VCI） from 2.5 to 3.3 V. the VmvL charge pump can be implemented as a high-efficiency circuit with a small area and low power since it can transfer pumped charges to VNWL node entirely. the DC-DC converter for 1 t SRAM were designed with 0.11 μm mixed signal process and operated well with satisfactory measurement results.
