A Framework for Exploring the Dynamics of Autonomous Work Groups in Manufacturing Organizations

Nowadays, new paradigm of enterprise organization i s constantly changing due to the emergence of the global marketplace, the rise of information technology, and the emphasis of the social developments. This re quires a more flexible form of organization that are more adaptable to rapid cha nges in business environment such as autonomous work groups (AWGs) in order to achieve higher productivity and effectiveness. AWGs are work units responsib le for the production of goods and the provision of services. They involve team members in making decisions that are traditionally the responsibility of the sup ervisors and managers (Cohen & Bailey, 1997). Team members of AWGs are allowed t o self-regulate their behavior on jobs such as task assignments, methods for ca rrying out the work, and scheduling of activities etc. (Cohen & Ledford, 1994). For example, Motorola achieved a high organizational performance due to the succ essful implementation of AWGs in quality management (Piczak & Hauser, 1996). Xer ox also reported their operational successes based on the team-oriented work gr oups (Wageman, 1997). In recent years many organizations have replaced the traditional layers of manag ement with autonomous team-based work arrangements. Surveys indicated that the adoption of AWGs has soared in responding to the competitive business challenges . Many enterprises are making a deliberate effort to use AWGs to carry out work and operational processes as an alternative for hierarchical approaches (Lawler et al., 1995). There is a growing body of evidence that AWGs are more effective than traditionally managed groups and they contributes to organizational perform ance, such as improvement in operational performance, productivity, quality, cos t savings, employee attitude and behavior, and employee satisfaction (e.g. Pears on, 1992; Cohen & Ledford, 1994; Seers et al. 1995). High Quality Fixture Quenching Fixture Types, Levels of Automation and Machine Types

The paper shows, how the quality of workpieces to be heat treated can be improved by using the technology of fixture-quenching. Different fixture systems, like fixed mandrel, expanding mandrel and lamellar mandrel are described. In the next section there is a comparison between manual operation of hardening machines vs. automated lines. Since there are applications for each, manual and fully automated hardening systems, HEESS has not only focused to develop automated lines, but also refined manual operated hardening machines (SP-Series). These take advantage of the latest technology, like for example quick tool change and PLC-control with workpiece parameter database. An overview over different machine types is given.

Genetic-based Fuzzy IDS for Feature Set Reduction and Worm Hole Attack Detection

The wireless ad-hoc networks are decentralized networks with a dynamic topology that allows for end-to-end communications via multi-hop routing operations with several nodes collaborating themselves,when the destination and source nodes are not in range of *** of its wireless type,it has lot of security concerns than an infrastructure *** attacks are one of the most serious security vulnerabilities in the network *** is simple to launch,even if there is no prior network *** are the sole thing that preventive measures rely *** detection systems(IDS)and other reactive measures detect all types of *** majority of IDS employ features from various network *** issue is calculating a huge layered features set from an ad-hoc *** research implements genetic algorithm(GA)-based feature reduction intrusion detection approaches to minimize the quantity of wireless feature sets required to identify worm hole *** attack detection,the reduced feature set was put to a fuzzy logic system(FLS).The performance of proposed model was compared with principal component analysis(PCA)and statistical parametric mapping(SPM).Network performance analysis like delay,packet dropping ratio,normalized overhead,packet delivery ratio,average energy consumption,throughput,and control overhead are evaluated and the IDS performance parameters like detection ratio,accuracy,and false alarm rate are evaluated for validation of the proposed *** proposed model achieves 95.5%in detection ratio with 96.8%accuracy and produces very less false alarm rate(FAR)of 14%when compared with existing techniques.

Surveillance for gastrointestinal malignancies

Gastrointestinal (GI) malignancies are notorious for frequently progressing to advanced stages even in the absence of serious symptoms, thus leading to delayed diagnoses and dismal prognoses. Secondary prevention of GI malignancies through early detection and treatment of cancer-precursor/premalignant lesions, therefore, is recognized as an effective cancer prevention strategy. In order to efficiently detect these lesions, systemic application of screening tests (surveillance) is needed. However, most of the currently used non-invasive screening tests for GI malignancies (for example, serum markers such as alpha-fetoprotein for hepatocellular carcinoma, and fecal occult blood test, for colon cancer) are only modestly effective necessitating the use of highly invasive endoscopy-based procedures, such as esophagogastroduodenoscopy and colonoscopy for screening purposes. Even for hepatocellular carcinoma where non-invasive imaging (ultrasonography) has become a standard screening tool, the need for repeated liver biopsies of suspicious liver nodules for histopathological confirmation can't be avoided. The invasive nature and high-cost associated with these screening tools hinders implementation of GI cancer screening programs. Moreover, only a small fraction of general population is truly predisposed to developing GI malignancies, and indeed needs surveillance. To spare the average-risk individuals from superfluous invasive procedures and achieve an economically viable model of cancer prevention, it's important to identify cohorts in general population that are at substantially high risk of developing GI malignancies (riskstratification), and select suitable screening tests for surveillance in these cohorts. We herein provide a brief overview of such high-risk cohorts for different GI malignancies, and the screening strategies that have commonly been employed for surveillance purpose in them.

Energy-and trust-aware secure routing algorithm for big data classification using MapReduce framework in IoT networks

Due to the open nature of wireless data transmission,routing and data security pose an important research challenge in the Internet of Things(IoT)-enabled ***,the characteristic features,like constrained resources,heterogeneity,uncontrolled environment,and scalability requirement,make the security issues even more ***,an effective and secure routing protocol named modified Energy Harvesting Trust-aware Routing Algorithm(mod-EHTARA)is proposed to increase the energy efficiency and the lifespan of the *** proposed mod-EHTARA is designed by adopting the Link Lifetime(LLT)model with the traditional *** optimal secure routing path is effectively selected by the proposed mod-EHTARA using the cost metric,which considers the factors like delay,LLT,energy,and *** big data classification process is carried out at the Base Station(BS)using the MapReduce ***,the big data classification is progressed using a stacked autoencoder,which is trained by the Adaptive E-Bat *** Adaptive E-Bat algorithm is developed by integrating the adaptive concept with the Bat Algorithm(BA)and Exponential Weighted Moving Average(EWMA).The proposed mod-EHTARA showed better performance by obtaining a maximal energy of 0.9855.

In this paper, we have investigated a model with three interacting species： non-toxic phy- toplankton, toxic phytoplankton and zooplankton with Holling type II and III functional responses over the space and time. The role of toxin producing phytoplankton （TPP） has been studied. We have presented the theoretical analysis of pattern formation in spatially distributed population with local diffusion. The paper highlights the hetero- geneity of HABs over space and time. The choice of parameter values and the functional response is important to study the effect of TPP, also it would depend more on the non- linearity of the system. With the help of numerical simulations, we have observed the spatial and spatiotemporal patterns for plankton system. This study demonstrates that TPP plays an important role in controlling the dynamics. We have observed that prey＇s anti-predator efforts promote predator switching. It has been found that high predation of TPP helps for the coexistence of toxic, non-toxic phytoplankton and zooplankton population.

In this paper,we propose and analyze a fractional-order SIS epidemic model with the saturated treatment and disease *** existence and uniqueness,nonnegativity and finiteness of solutions for our suggested model have been *** equilibria of the model are found and their local and global stability analyses are also ***,the conditions for fractional backward and fractional Hopf bifurcation are also analyzed in both the commensurate and incommensurate fractional-order *** study how the control parameter and the order of the fractional derivative play role in local as well as global stability of equilibrium points and Hopf *** have demonstrated the analytical results of our proposed model system through several numerical simulations.

Crystallization kinetics of Sn_(40)Se_(60) thin films for phase change memory applications

The crystallization kinetics of Sn4oSe6o thin films has been successfully investigated using sheet resis- tance versus temperature measurements. Thermal evaporation was used to deposit the films on ordinary glass sub- strates. The crystallization temperature for Sn4oSe60 thin film was found to be 156.6 -t- 0.3 ~C. In the as-deposited state, the sheet resistance was found to be 195 Mf2/[2, this value declined to 1560 f2/[2] upon annealing. The value of activation energy obtained from the kissinger plot was 0.62 ＋ 0.07 eV. From the results obtained, SnaoSe60 is a promising alloy for PCM application because of its high electrical contrast, high crystallization temperature, and relatively high activation energy.

Macrocyclic-ligand Induced Synthesis of Aryl Ethynides with Divergent Silver（I） Clusters

Two structurally characterized metal-cluster-centered supramolecular architectures named [Ag8（1,2-（C= C）2-C6H4）（Py[6]）（CF3CO2）6]·2.5MeOH （1） and [Ag12（1,2,4,5-（C=C）aC6H2）（Py[6]）2（CF3SO3）s]·4MeOH·3H2O （2） are synthesized through the interaction with a bowl-shaped macrocyclic ligand PyI61. Particularly, two dissimilar silver（I） clusters are resulted in 2 within the structure under the influence of the macrocyclic ligand Py[6]. Such dissimilarity of the silver（1） cluster is also reflected on the structural and photophysical differences between 1 and 2.
