BACkGROUND Connective tissue growth factor(CTGF)is a mediator of transforming growth factor-beta signaling and plays a key role in connective tissue remodeling,inflammatory processes and fibrosis in various illnesses including *** To investigate the role of CTGF in colorectal cancer(CRC)progression and to compare the CTGF expression with different clinicopathological *** Real-time polymerase chain reaction,immunohistochemistry and Western blotting was performed to evaluate the CTGF expression and the results were statistically analyzed against the clinicopathological variables of patient data using STATA software version *** CTGF expression levels in tumor specimens were significantly higher than their paired normal *** higher protein expression levels showed a significant association with smoking,staging,tumor grade,invasion depth,necrosis of tumor tissue,and both lymphovascular and perineural *** per the cox regression model and classification tree analysis,tumor-nodemetastasis stage and perineural invasion were important predictors for CTGF expression and prognosis of CRC *** analysis indicated that CTGF overexpression was associated with poorer overall and disease-free *** Expression of CTGF was increased in CRC and was linked with poor overall and disease-free survival of CRC *** findings support prior observations and thus CTGF may be a possible prognostic marker in CRC.

Ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties of SrZrO_3-modified Bi_(0.5)Na_(0.5)TiO_3 lead-free ceramics

The lead-free SrZrO3-modified Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3(BNT-SZ100 x, with x=0-0.15) ceramics were fabricated by a conventional solid-state reaction method. The effects of SZ addition on BNT ceramics were investigated through X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), ferroelectric and electric field-induced strain characterizations. XRD analysis revealed a pure perovskite phase without any traces of secondary phases. Ferroelectric and bipolar field induced-strain curves indicated a disruption of ferroelectric order upon SZ addition into BNT ceramics. A maximum value of remnant polarization(32 μC/cm2) and piezoelectric constant(102 pC/N) was observed at 5%(mole fraction) of SZ. Maximum value of the electric field-induced strain(Smax=0.24%) corresponding to normalized strain(Smax/Emax= d*33= 340 pm/V) was obtained at BNT-SZ9.

定义一个完整、正确有效的角色集合和相关权限的过程称为角色工程。角色工程有两种方法，自下而上和自上而下。自上而下的方法主要是业务驱动的，根据给定工作职能的责任定义角色。自下而上的方法是使用数据挖掘技术根据已有访问权限抽象出角色。这种自下而上的方法被称为是角色挖掘。之前的研究方法大多是基于Apriori数据挖掘技术，并将所有权限同等对待。这些工作都没有包括预设权重分配以及基于频繁模式树（FP-tree）的频繁模式增长（FP-增长）数据挖掘技术。现有研究是致力于使用角色挖掘技术来帮助安全专家及管理员来实施有效的基于角色的访问控制（RBAC）。现在已经设计出不同的角色挖掘算法，大多数都是基于先验的方式（Apriori方法）。研究使用著名的基于FP-tree的频繁模式增长数据挖掘技术，这种技术比角色挖掘中使用的其他算法更为高效。基于先验的角色挖掘（Apriori）算法效率较低，因为它使用生成和测试的方法，即首先产生频繁的候选项目集，然后测试它们是否是频繁的，而基于FP-tree的角色挖掘的方法在空间和时间上都更高效，因为它可以不产生候选项目集而发现频繁项目。根据组织需要，使用该方法给予权限预先分配的权重。权重根据相关组织安全模型架构来确定。不同的组织有不同的安全级别，并根据自己的需要对权限进行分级。我们提出的方法在基于FP-Tree和FP-growth角色挖掘技术的角色挖掘算法中引入预设的权重。研究提出了一种新的方法来计算权限集合的权重、加权支持度和加权可信度，这在角色挖掘领域是一个重要增强。实验结果表明，研究提出的引入预设权重的基于FP-树的角色挖掘算法，在速度和效率方面均显示出了优越性。

Vulnerability of Sunflower Germination and Metal Translocation under Heavy Metals Contamination

The germination and metal translocation ability of two sunflower seedlings were compared to identify the cultivar differences towards metal contamination at juvenile stage. The heavy metal treatments include: 0, 50, 100, 150 and 200 mM Ni, Cd and Pb applied in sand filled pots to Hysun-33 and FH-533 sunflower. The highest germination percentage (79%) and vigor index were recorded for Hysun-33 with no heavy metal treatment. Pb and Cd treatments reduced the growth attributes of 20 days old seedlings of both the cultivars. The Ni translocation effectively enhanced the shoot and root biomass of Hysun-33. The high concentration of 150 and 200 mM Cd and Pb drastically reduced Mn and k contents, vigor, length and biomass of two sunflower cultivars. Among three of the heavy metals, Cd was found more toxic than Pb and Ni. Roots of 20 days old seedlings of Hysun-33 were able to hold more Cd metal and stop its translocation to epigenous parts. Although 150 and 200 mM Ni effects the germination and vigor of sunflower cultivars more than 50 and 100 mM Ni, it is found less toxic in comparison to Cd and Pb. The Cd accumulation in roots suggests that it is physiologically most active sink for Cd metal while epigenous parts of sunflower cultivars are sink for Pb and Ni metal as shoot of sunflower cultivars accumulates high contents of Pb and Ni.

Salinity stress is a major threat to global food production and its intensity is continuously increasing because of anthropogenic *** is a staple food and a source of carbohydrates and calories for the majority of people across the ***,wheat productivity is adversely affected by salt stress,which is associated with a reduction in germination,growth,altered reproductive behavior and enzymatic activity,disrupted photosynthesis,hormonal imbalance,oxidative stress,and yield ***,a better understanding of wheat(plant)behavior to salinity stress has essential implications to devise counter and alleviation measures to cope with salt *** approaches including the selection of suitable cultivars,conventional breeding,and molecular techniques can be used for facing salt stress ***,these techniques are tedious,costly,and *** practices are still helpful to improve the wheat performance under salinity *** of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi,plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria,and exogenous application of phytohormones,seed priming,and nutrient management are important tools to improve wheat performance under salinity *** this paper,we discussed the effect of salinity stress on the wheat crop,possible mechanisms to deal with salinity stress,and management options to improve wheat performance under salinity conditions.

Tool life modeling for evaluating the effects of cutting speed and reinforcements on the machining of particle reinforced metal matrix composites

The wear of cutting tools in the machining of 2024Al alloy composites reinforced with Al2O3 particles using varying sizes and volume fractions of particles up to 23.3vol% was investigated by a turning process using coated carbide tools k10 and TP30 at different cut- ting speeds. Machining tests were performed with a plan of experiments based on the Taguchi method. The tool life model was developed in terms of cutting speed, size, and volume fraction of particles by multiple linear regressions. The analysis of variance （ANOVA） was also employed to carry out the effects of these parameters on the cutting tool life. The test results show that the tool life decreases with the increase of cutting speed for both cutting tools k10 and TP30, and the tool life of the k10 tool is significantly longer than that of the TP30 tool. For the tool life, cutting speed is found to be the most effective factor followed by particle content and particle size, respectively. The predicted tool life of cutting tools is found to be in very good agreement with the experimentally observed ones.

Pulsatile blood flow in large arteries:comparative study of Burton's and McDonald's models

To get a clear picture of the pulsatile nature of blood flow and its role in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis, a comparative study of blood flow in large arteries is carried out using the two widely used models, McDonald＇s and Burton＇s models, for the pressure gradient. For both models, the blood velocity in the lumen is obtained analytically. Elaborate investigations on the wall shear stress （WSS） and oscillatory shear index （OSI） are carried out. The results are in good agreement with the available data in the literature. The superiority of McDonald＇s model in capturing the pulsatile nature of blood flow, especially the OSI, is highlighted. The present investigation supports the hypothesis that not only WSS but also OSI are the essential features determining the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. Finally, by reviewing the limitations of the present investigation, the possibility of improvement is explored.

Aqueous-phase reforming(APR)is an attractive process to produce bio-based hydrogen from waste biomass streams,during which the catalyst stability is often challenged due to the harsh reaction *** this work,three Pt-based catalysts supported on C,AlO(OH),and ZrO_(2)were investigated for the APR of hydroxyacetone solution in afixed bed reactor at 225℃and 35 *** them,the Pt/C catalyst showed the highest turnover frequency for H_(2)production(TOF of 8.9 molH_(2)molPt^(-1)min^(-1))and the longest catalyst *** the AlO(OH)and ZrO_(2)supported Pt catalysts,the side reactions consuming H_(2),formation of coke,and Pt sintering result in a low H_(2)production and the fast catalyst *** proposed reaction pathways suggest that a promising APR catalyst should reform all oxygenates in the aqueous phase,minimize the hydrogenation of the oxygenates,maximize the WGS reaction,and inhibit the condensation and coking reactions for maximizing the hydrogen yield and a stable catalytic performance.
