Bioequivalence of Two Brands of Valsartan 80 mg Coated Breakable Tablets in 15 Healthy Algerian Volunteers： A Pilot Study

A randomized, two-way, crossover study was conducted in 15 fasting, healthy, Algerian volunteers to compare the bioavailability of two brands of Valsartan 80 mg coated breakable tablets. The present study aimed to evaluate the intra-subject variability of this active substance in the Algerian population. The test brand was compared to TAREG （Novartis） as the reference product. The study was performed at the bioequivalence center of the national control laboratory for pharmaceuticals products, in joint venture with University Hospital Center Ibn Badis, Constantine, Algeria. The drug was administered with 200 mL of water after a 10 h overnight fasting on two treatment days separated by one week washout period. After dosing, serial blood samples were collected for a period of 24 h. A reliable, simple, and robust liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectro-metric （LC-MS/MS） method has been developed and validated that employs protein precipitation （or denaturation） for the estimation of valsartan in human plasma using losartan as internal standard. The assay was found to be linear over the range of 50-5,000 ng/mL, with a lower limit of quantitation of 50ng/mL. Various pharnaacokinetic parameters including AUC0-t, AUC∞, Cmax, Tmax, and TI/2 were determined from plasma concentrations of both formulations and found to be in good agreement with reported values. The pharmacokinetical and statistical analysis was conducted with kinetica 4.4.1. AUC0.t, AUC0-∞ and Cmax were tested for bioequivalence after log-transformation of data. No significant difference was found based on ANOVA; 90% confidence interval （[85.82%, 118.76%] for AUC0.t [86.09%, 118.83%] for AUC0-∞） of test/reference ratio for these parameters were found within bioequivalence acceptance range of 80-125%. But for the Cmax, the 90% confidence interval of test/reference ratio wasn＇t in this acceptance range [90.18%, 131.07%] .The results of Pk analysis suggested that the reference and test formulations ofvalsartan 8

The studied area—kermejegan—is located in the south of Qom Province, Iran. In this paper, geology map, ASTER and ETM7+ satellite images were used and after processing these images with Geomatica and ENVI softwares, iron potential zones were compared with the iron mine position in the south of the area and 2 dominate indexs around. Finally remote sensing, faults and geological data layers were integrated in GIS and hopeful zones were introduced for continuing the exploration processes.

The teaching of English for Science and Technology （EST） is generally regarded as one of the most significant developments in English language pedagogy in recent years. EST is concerned with meeting the specific language needs of learners in various scientific and technological fields. These needs should be taken into consideration when planning and implementing English language courses or specialized courses to students of science and technology. This research is an attempt to investigate some of the problems involved in the teaching and learning of EST and suggest possible solutions. The research will focus on the reading comprehension of scientific and technical texts written in English, the teaching and learning of functional grammar, and the teaching and learning of lexis. These are regarded as some of the most important skills and sub-skills to be acquired by the students of science and technology to help them gain scientific information in English and reach a satisfactory level of achievement in their academic studies. The contention here is that it is in need to adopt a new set of assumptions and criteria specifically relevant to EST instead of employing those of General-English courses being used in the foundation and non-foundation years. This is in line with the basic premise of ESP （English for Special Purpose） and foundation courses which are supposed to prepare students for longer and more difficult tasks in their relevant fields of study. It is hoped that the findings of this research paper will be fruitful and relevant to other ESP courses in addition to those of EST.

Traumatic brain injury, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, and Alzheimer's disease are three distinct neurological disorders that share common pathophysiological mechanisms involving neuroinflammation. One sequela of neuroinflammation includes the pathologic hyperphosphorylation of tau protein, an endogenous microtubule-associated protein that protects the integrity of neuronal cytoskeletons. Tau hyperphosphorylation results in protein misfolding and subsequent accumulation of tau tangles forming neurotoxic aggregates. These misfolded proteins are characteristic of traumatic brain injury, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, and Alzheimer's disease and can lead to downstream neuroinflammatory processes, including assembly and activation of the inflammasome complex. Inflammasomes refer to a family of multimeric protein units that, upon activation, release a cascade of signaling molecules resulting in caspase-induced cell death and inflammation mediated by the release of interleukin-1β cytokine. One specific inflammasome, the NOD-like receptor protein 3, has been proposed to be a key regulator of tau phosphorylation where it has been shown that prolonged NOD-like receptor protein 3 activation acts as a causal factor in pathological tau accumulation and spreading. This review begins by describing the epidemiology and pathophysiology of traumatic brain injury, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, and Alzheimer's disease. Next, we highlight neuroinflammation as an overriding theme and discuss the role of the NOD-like receptor protein 3 inflammasome in the formation of tau deposits and how such tauopathic entities spread throughout the brain. We then propose a novel framework linking traumatic brain injury, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, and Alzheimer's disease as inflammasomedependent pathologies that exist along a temporal continuum. Finally, we discuss potential therapeutic targets that may intercept this pathway and ultimately minimize long-term neurological decline.

The drug was administered on two treatment days separated by one week washout period. After dosing, serial blood samples were collected for a period of 12 h. A reliable and robust LC-MS/MS （liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry） method has been developed and validated for the estimation of Omeprazole in human plasma. The assay was found to be linear over the range of 5-1,000 ng/mL. The pharmacokinetical and statistical analysis was conducted with kinetica 4.4.1. AUC0.t, AUC0-∞ and Cmax were tested for bioequivalence. No significant difference was found based on ANOVA; 90% confidence interval （[97.14%-117..85%] for AUC0.t, [97.17%-117.67%] for AUC0-∞） of test/reference ratio for these parameters were found within bioequivalence acceptance range of 80%-125%. But for the Cmax, it was not in this acceptance range [73,5%-100.54%]. The results of Pk analysis suggested that the reference and test formulations of Omeprazole 20 mg Gastro-Resistant Capsules were not bioequivalent during fasting state in these healthy Algerian volunteers.

Assessment of Aquifer Vulnerability Based on GIS and ARCGIS Methods: A Case Study of the Sana’a Basin (Yemen)

Groundwater is the main source of water in arid and semi-arid regions. Therefore, pollution of groundwater is a major issue because aquifers and the contained groundwater are inherently susceptible to contamination from wastewater and agricultural activities. Aquifer vulnerability has been assessed in the Sana’a basin using the DRASTIC method, based on a Geographic Information System (GIS). The DRASTIC model uses seven environmental parameters (Depth to water, net Recharge, Aquifer media, Soil media, Topography, Impact of vadose zone, and hydraulic Conductivity) to characterize the hydrogeological setting and evaluate aquifer vulnerability. A regional scale aquifer vulnerability map of the basin was prepared using overlay analysis with the aid of GIS. A DRASTIC vulnerability map, verified by data of nitrate in groundwater, shows that the defined areas are compatible with land-use data. It is concluded that 6.4% of the basin area is highly vulnerable and urgent pollution-preventions measures should be taken for every kind of relevant activity within the whole basin.

In the recent past years, the major challenge facing scientists and researchers in the field of knowledge engineering is classifying and sharing geographic data with both computer and human. Ontology is one of the most important classification schemes that aim to make data machine-interpretable. In the literature, all ontology based models developed in the field of urban planning have some limits. First, they describe the nature of each parcel of the soil while ignoring other important components of urban planning such as services, infrastructure … Secondly, these ontologies are developed according to legislation and regulations of the zone studied so they can’t be used by some urban territories that have specific urban law such as Moroccan country. This paper presents a new multi-dimensional ontology model called LUP specifically developed to overcome this flaw. The main goal is to provide semantic land use descriptions according to four dimensions: zoning, services, infrastructure and easement and to define all LUP concepts within the Moroccan urban law. We illustrate the use of our proposed model with a case study by mapping a land use planning document within the area of Ainchock municipality of Casablanca city according to our model concepts.

In arid and semi-arid zones,water is the most vulnerable resource to climate *** fact,various techniques such as artificial recharge are adopted to restore aquifers and to ensure aquifer sustainability in relation to the accelerated pace of *** is a Mediterranean country highly vulnerable to climate change,many of its main aquifers are subjected to excessive *** technique is practiced to increase potentiality of these *** the Northwestern area of Morocco,the significant development experienced by Tangier City in the industrial,tourism,and commercial sectors will lead to increased water requirements-up to 5 067 L/s(159.8 mm^3)by ***,the Charf El Akab aquifer system,subject to artificial recharge,is the only groundwater resource of Tangier region;hence,a rational management context is needed to ensure aquifer sustainability,and optimized exploitation under the background of differing constraints,such as increased water requirements,and climate change *** work aims to respond,for the first time,to the Charf El Akab aquifer overexploitation problem,and to evaluate the future scenarios of its exploitation in the event of failure of one of the superficial *** work also presents a synthesized hydrodynamic modeling based on the results of the numerical simulations carried out using Feflow software for 2004(date of cessation of injections)and 2011(date of resumption of these facilities),making it possible to evaluate the impact of the artificial recharge on the piezometric level of the aquifer on a spatiotemporal ***,the exploitation scenarios have shown that the aquifer of Charf El Akab will not adequatly provide for the region's water requirements on the future horizon,entailing an optimal management of water resources in the region and an intentionally increased recharge rate.

This work demonstrates the first on-chip UV optoelectronic integration in 4H-SiC CMOS,which includes an image sensor with 64 active pixels and a total of 1263 transistors on a 100mm^(2) *** reported image sensor offers serial digital,analog,and 2-bit ADC outputs and operates at 0.39 Hz with a maximum power consumption of 60μW,which are significant improvements over previous *** optoelectronics have applications in flame detection,satellites,astronomy,UV photography,and *** complexity of this optoelectronic system paves the way for new applications such harsh environment microcontrollers.
