This research systematically examined the degradation,antibacterial effects,and biocompatibility of micro-arc oxidation(mAO)coatings with nano CuO and ZnO on extruded mg *** copper(Cu)and Zinc(Zn)possess antibacterial *** findings demonstrated that adding ZnO will appreciably reduce the degradation rate of mAO-coating alloy due to the self-sealing micro ***+mAO coating exhibited excellent antibacterial performance,with an antibacterial rate of over 90%within 6 h co-cultured with Staphylococcus ***,the antibacterial rate of ZnO+mAO coating reached 90%after 12 h *** test using mG63 cell indicated that the incorporation of CuO and ZnO did not notably affect the cell viability rate of the ***,after 14 days of culture,the CuO+mAO and ZnO+mAO coated samples exhibited higher alkaline phosphatase(ALP)activity than the mAO-coated and uncoated samples,suggesting favorable osteogenic properties.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)is a‘highly transmissible respiratory pathogen,leading to severe multiorgan ***,knowledge regarding SARS-CoV-2-induced cellular alterations is *** this study,we report that SARSCoV-2 aberrantly elevates mitochondrial bioenergetics and activates the EGFR-mediated cell survival signal cascade during the early stage of viral ***-CoV-2 causes an increase in mitochondrial transmembrane potential via the SARS-CoV-2 RNAnucleocapsid cluster,thereby abnormally promoting mitochondrial elongation and the OXPHOS process,followed by enhancing ATP ***,SARS-CoV-2 activates the EGFR signal cascade and subsequently induces mitochondrial EGFR trafficking,contributing to abnormal OXPHOS process and viral *** EGFR inhibitors remarkably reduce SARS-CoV-2 propagation,among which vandetanib exhibits the highest antiviral *** of SARS-CoV-2-infected cells with vandetanib decreases SARS-CoV-2-induced EGFR trafficking to the mitochondria and restores SARS-CoV-2-induced aberrant elevation in OXPHOS process and ATP generation,thereby resulting in the reduction of SARS-CoV-2 ***,oral administration of vandetanib to SARS-CoV-2-infected hACE2 transgenic mice reduces SARS-CoV-2 propagation in lung tissue and mitigates SARS-CoV-2-induced lung *** also exhibits potent antiviral activity against various SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern,including alpha,beta,delta and omicron,in in vitro cell culture *** together,our findings provide novel insight into SARS-CoV-2-induced alterations in mitochondrial dynamics and EGFR trafficking during the early stage of viral infection and their roles in robust SARS-CoV-2 propagation,suggesting that EGFR is an attractive host target for combating COVID-19.

Low cost co-precipitation method was used to synthesize Cu(0-0.05)doped mgO samples with fixed concertation of Zn=0.01.X-ray diffraction(XRD)spectra confirmed the phase purity of the samples for 0≤Cu≤0.03 doping *** secondary phase for 0.04≤Cu≤0.05 exhibited the formation of mixed metal *** crystallite size was found to increase from 17.5 to 23.5 nm for 0≤Cu≤0.03 and then decreased from 22 to 18.5 nm for 0.04≤Cu≤*** estimated bandgap first reduced from 5.48 to 4.88 eV and then increased from 5.21 to 5.36 *** morphology of the samples transformed from spheroidal shape to star-like *** obtained results reveal that the structural and optical property are in good agreement with the morphological *** peak shifting towards the lower values of vibrational frequency from 694 to 579 cm^(-1) confirms the incorporation of Cu/Zn in mg-O *** tuning of optical bandgap and structural properties with varying dopant concentration in mgO nanomaterials can be used for multifunctional modern energy storage and optoelectronic devices.

Hybrid solar-based integrated systems represent a viable solution for countries with abundant solar radiation,as they provide energy needs in an environmentally friendly way,offering a sustainable and economically advantageous energy solution that utilizes a free source of ***,this research offers a thermodynamic evaluation of a novel integrated system driven by solar energy that aims to produce power,heating and *** integrated system consists of a parabolic trough collector that uses CO_(2) as its working fluid and implements the supercritical carbon dioxide cycle to generate power and *** integrated system also in-cludes an adsorption desalination system with heat recovery between the condenser and evaporator,which employs a cutting-edge material called an aluminium fumarate metal–organic framework to produce fresh *** the modelling of a novel system,an en-gineering equation solver,which is considered a reliable tool for thermodynamic investigations,is *** effectiveness of an integrated system is evaluated using a mathematical model and different varying parameters are examined to ascertain their influence on thermal and exergy efficiency,specific daily water production and gained output *** results revealed that the parabolic trough collector achieved a thermal efficiency of 67.2%and an exergy efficiency of 41.2%under certain ***,the thermal efficiencies for electrical and heating were obtained 24.68%and 9.85%,***,the specific daily water production was calculated,showing promising results and an increase from 7.1 to 12.5 m3/ton/day,while the gain output ratio increased from 0.395 to 0.62 when the temperature of hot water increased from 65°C to 85°C,under the selected conditions.

Environmental Exposure to Lead as a Risk for Prostate Cancer

Objective To evaluate the possible role of environmental exposure to lead as a risk factor for prostate pathology in patients suffering from prostate cancer (PCA) and benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH). methods Blood lead (BPb) level was determined in PCA and BPH cases using a graphite furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer and compared with those in a control group living in the similar socioeconomic environment. Results BPb was significantly higher in PCA and BPH cases than in normals (Pmpared with controls (Pmeasured as malondialdehyde, and negative correlation between blood lead and antioxidant GSH level, indicative of possible generation of reactive oxygen species, were also observed after adjusting for age as a possible confounders. However, positive association between blood lead and TEARS was relatively higher in PCA patients (r=0.77, Pmal (r=0.30, Pmited power seem to suggest for the first time that environmental exposure of aging males to lead may be a risk factor for prostate cancer and/or benign prostate hyperplasia possibly through generation of reactive oxygen species and/or reducing the level of zinc which acts as a cellular growth protector.

One of the most pressing concerns for the consumer market is the detection of adulteration in meat products due to their *** rapid and accurate identification mechanism for lard adulteration in meat products is highly necessary,for developing a mechanism trusted by consumers and that can be used to make a definitive *** Transform Infrared Spectroscopy(FTIR)is used in this work to identify lard adulteration in cow,lamb,and chicken samples.A simplified extraction method was implied to obtain the lipids from pure and adulterated *** samples were obtained by mixing lard with chicken,lamb,and beef with different concentrations(10%–50%v/v).Principal component analysis(PCA)and partial least square(PLS)were used to develop a calibration model at 800–3500 cm^(−1).Three-dimension PCA was successfully used by dividing the spectrum in three regions to classify lard meat adulteration in chicken,lamb,and beef *** corresponding FTIR peaks for the lard have been observed at 1159.6,1743.4,2853.1,and 2922.5 cm−1,which differentiate chicken,lamb,and beef *** wavenumbers offer the highest determination coefficient R2 value of 0.846 and lowest root mean square error of calibration(RmSEC)and root mean square error prediction(RmSEP)with an accuracy of 84.6%.Even the tiniest fat adulteration up to 10%can be reliably discovered using this methodology.

The TiO2-water based nanofluid flow in a channel bounded by two porous plates under an oblique magnetic field and variable thermal conductivity is formulated as a boundary-value problem(BVP). The BVP is analytically solved with the homotopy analysis method(HAm). The result shows that the concentration of the nanoparticles is independent of the volume fraction of TiO2nanoparticles, the magnetic field intensity, and the angle. It is inversely proportional to the mass diffusivity. The fluid speed decreases whereas the temperature increases when the volume fraction of the TiO2nanoparticles increases. This confirms the fact that the occurrence of the TiO2nanoparticles results in the increase in the thermal transfer rate. The fluid speed decreases and the temperature increases for both the pure water and the nanofluid when the magnetic field intensity and angle increase. The maximum velocity does not exist at the middle of the symmetric channel, which is in contrast to the plane-Poiseuille flow, but it deviates a little bit towards the lower plate, which absorbs the fluid with a very low suction velocity. If this suction velocity is increased, the temperature in the vicinity of the lower plate will be *** explicit expression for the friction factor-Reynolds number is then developed. It is shown that the Hartmann number of the nanofluid is smaller than that of pure water,while the Nusselt number of the nanofluid is larger than that of pure water. However,both the parameters increase if the magnetic field intensity increases.
