The aim of this work is to investigate and optimize the effects of the leaching parameters on the selective leaching of zinc from electric arc furnace steelmaking dust （EAFD）. The response surface method was applied on the basis of a three-level Box–Behnken experimental design method for optimization of selective leaching parameters of zinc from EAFD. The leaching recoveries of zinc （YZn） and iron （YFe） were taken as the response variables, where the concentration of sulphuric acid （X1, mol/l）, leaching temperature （X2, °C）, leaching time （X3, min）, and liquid/solid ratio （X4, ml/g） were considered as the independent variables （factors）. The mathematical model was proposed. statistical AnOVA analysis and confirmation tests were applied. A maximum of 79.09% of zinc was recovered while the minimum iron recovery was 4.08% under the optimum conditions of leaching time 56.42 min, H2sO4 concentration 2.35 mol/l, leaching temperature 25 °C and liquid/solid ratios. By using AnOVA, the most influential factors on leaching of zinc and iron were determined as H2sO4 concentration and leaching temperature, respectively. The proposed model equations using response surface methodology show good agreement with the experimental data, with correlation coefficients （R2） of 0.98 for zinc recovery and 0.97 for iron recovery.

Polyarteritis nodosa(PAn) is one of the systemic vasculitis that affects the media wall of arteries of small and medium diameter. Diagnosis proves difficult due to the unspecific symptoms that dominate the clinical profile. liver involvement is very diverse, ranging from the development of cirrhotic liver disease to acute abdomen presentation that requires surgery because of liver rupture. The management of these patients requires an expert multidisciplinary team. There are several cases in the literature that describe a sudden liver rupture as the first manifestation of a PAn. In this paper we present the case of a 75 years old patient without any previous disease, who is subjected to major hepatic resection for spontaneous liver rupture.

Achieving homogeneous plastic deformation in metallic glasses is a long-standing goal yet to be solved in materials science. Here we investigate the effect of ion irradiation on the plastic deformation behavior of ZrCu/ZrCuniAlsi amorphous/amorphous nanolaminates(A/Anls) via nanoindentation testing. The experimental results indicate a dramatic change in deformation mode from multiple shear banding events to homogeneous compressive deformation before and after ion irradiation on the A/Anls in the areas underneath the indenter. Ion irradiation-induced changes of both fraction and distribution of free volume inside each constituent layer and interfacial state in the A/Anls may be responsible for the unusual homogeneous deformation behavior. Our results suggest that the mechanical property of A/Anls could be modified by tuning both the inner and interfacial structure via ion irradiation.

The system of rice intensification （sRI） is reported to have advantages like lower seed requirement,less pest attack,shorter crop duration,higher water use efficiency and the ability to withstand higher degree of moisture stress than traditional method of rice *** this background,sRI was compared with traditional transplanting technique at Indian Agricultural Research Institute,new Delhi,India during two wet seasons （2009-2011）.In the experiment laid out in a factorial randomized block design,two methods of rice cultivation [conventional transplanting （CT） and sRI] and two rice varieties （Pusa Basmati 1 and Pusa 44） were used under seven crop nutrition treatments,viz.T 1,120 kg/hm2 n,26.2 kg/hm2 P and 33 kg/hm2 k;T 2,20 t/hm2 farmyard manure （FYM）;T 3,10 t/hm2 FYM＋ 60 kg/hm2 n;T 4,5 t/hm2 FYM＋ 90 kg/hm2 n;T 5,5 t/hm2 FYM＋ 60 kg/hm2 n＋ 1.5 kg/hm2 blue green algae （BGA）;T 6,5 t/hm2 FYM＋ 60 kg/hm2 n＋ 1.0 t/hm2 Azolla,and T 7,n 0 P 0 k 0 （control,no nPk application） to study the effect on seed quality,yield and water *** sRI,soil was kept at saturated moisture condition throughout vegetative phase and thin layer of water （2-3 cm） was maintained during the reproductive phase of rice,however,in CT,standing water was maintained in crop growing *** revealed that CT and sRI gave statistically at par grain yield but straw yield was significantly higher in CT as compared to *** quality was superior in sRI as compared to *** nutrient management （InM） resulted in higher plant height with longer leaves than chemical fertilizer alone in both the rice *** yield attributes such as number of effective tillers per hill,panicle length and panicle weight of rice in both the varieties were significantly higher in InM as compared to chemical fertilizer *** yields of both the varieties were the highest in InM followed by the recommended doses of chemical *** grain yield and its attributes of Pusa 44 were significantly

To interpret density holes in the solar wind,which are nonlinear structures observed by Cluster and Double star,we propose an electrostatic ion fluid *** derive the sagdeev potential from the magnetohydrodynamic(MHD)equations and study the characteristics of nonlinear structures in our *** results show that density depletions(or holes)can develop from linear ion acoustic waves or ion cyclotron waves in space plasmas when parameters such as Mach number,initial electric field and ratio of ion to electron temperature satisfy certain *** our model,the relative density depletion(or density holes)is from 0 to 1, and the time duration of density holes is from 2 s to more than 98 *** are in good agreement with the observations by Cluster and Double star in the solar *** model also shows that the density holes should be accompanied by bipolar electric field solitary structures,which have also been observed by Cluster in the solar wind.

While gait recognition is the mapping of a gait sequence to an identity known to the system, gait authentication refers to the problem of identifying whether a given gait sequence belongs to the claimed identity. A typical gait authentication system starts with a feature representation such as a gait template, then proceeds to extract its features, and a transformation is ultimately applied to obtain a discriminant feature set. Almost every authentication approach in literature favours the use of Euclidean distance as a threshold to mark the boundary between a legitimate subject and an impostor. This article proposes a method that uses the posterior probability of a Bayes' classifier in place of the Euclidean distance. The proposed framework is applied to template-based gait feature representations and is evaluated using the standard CAsIA-B gait database. Our study experimentally demonstrates that the Bayesian posterior probability performs significantly better than the de facto Euclidean distance approach and the cosine distance which is established in research to be the current state of the art.

Cardiovascular disease represents the main cause of death in developed *** disease frequently may account for premature fatal outcomes,even in the apparently healthy young, appearing in the form of sudden and unexpected death [1]. sudden death (sD) is defined according to commonly accepted criteria in witnessed cases as *** is a natural death that occurs within 6h of the beginning of symptoms in an apparently healthy subject or in one whose disease is not so severe that a fatal outcome would be expected [2].In cases of unwitnessed death, which is a common situation in forensic practice, this definition requires that the deceased was last seen alive and functioning normally 24 h before being found dead [3].
