切尔诺贝利灾难已过去近六年了,然而,对于这场灾害所泄漏的放射性给环境、卫生及遗传系统造成的影响,我们的了解还远远不够全面。只有通过长期、广泛的国际合作研究,才能稳定并且缓解这种后果。人们现在认为,切尔诺贝利事件是人类历史上最严重的一次技术灾难。前苏联境内三个共和国(白俄罗斯、乌克兰和俄罗斯)中的四百万人成为受害者,并且继续遭受着事故后果所带来的危害。在1986年那场灾害过后的春季,11.6万人被迫从污染区撤离。

High-Strength Carbon Materials and Elastomers on the Basis of Carbon-Silicon Nanocomposites

The processes for obtaining C-SiO2 and C-βSiC nanocomposites from the rice hulls have been studied. On the basis of these composites, some carbon materials and rubber products with the increased physical and mechanical properties have been obtained. The tensile strength of the carbon products with C-SiO2 is 92-96 MPa and with C-βSiC： 112-118 MPa in comparison with 70-80 MPa for standard products from artificial graphite. Nominal strength and resistance to tensile strain of the carbon material with C-SiO2 increase by 15%-20% as compared to the carbon material with carbon black.

Using a novel small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) method for determination of fractional and subfractional composition of lipoproteins (LPs), a significant elevation of total cholesterol-lipop- roteins (C-LP) and, especially, total triglyceride- lipoproteins (Tg-LP), was shown in this work. Among the LP fractions, poloxamer 407 was shown to significantly increase proatherogenic total C-LDL, Tg-LDL and, especially, their precursors C-VLDL and Tg-VLDL, while only exhibiting a moderate increase in the antiatherogenic C-HDL and Tg-HDL fractions. With regard to the VLDL subfractions, significant elevations were observed in both subfractions studied;namely, C-VLDL1-2 and C-VLDL3-5. Similar chang- es were noted in the Tg-VLDL1-2 and Tg- VLDL3-5 subfractions. The C-IDL and Tg-IDL subfractions were increased significantly (?20- to 30- fold), while the C-LDL1-3 subfraction was moderately (?3- to 5-fold) increased at 48 hrs and at day 4. In the moderately elevated (?2- to 4-fold) anti-atherogenic HDL fraction, the C-HDL2 subfraction was increased more significantly (?4- fold) compared to the C-HDL3 subfraction;how- ever, both C-HDL subfractions returned to base- line by day 4. The elevation in the Tg-HDL2 subfraction was observed only at 24 hrs. Mouse models of hyperlipidemia and atherosclerosis are useful to evaluate the role of “individual” LPs, as well as their fractions and subfractions, in hyperlipidemia and the genesis of atherosclerosis.

Zinc oxide nanocomposites in the form of coatings and composite films with antitumor activity were obtained by deposition of ZnO nanofilms on surfaces of ethyl ether Sali- cylidene DL-tyrosine (S1) and ethyl ether Sali- cylidene DL-tyrosine Cu (II) chelate (S2) by magnetron sputtering of Zn target. Ethyl ether salicylidene DL-tyrosine, Cu (II) chelate of ethyl ether salicylidene DL-tyrosine reveal some anticancer properties. Their zinc oxide nano- composites were obtained in the form of coat- ings (S1 + ZnO, S2 + ZnO) and composite films presenting a mixture of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) with S1, S2 (S1 + PVA + ZnO, S2 + PVA + ZnO), for the purpose of increasing anticancer activity. Considerable increase in antitumor activity re- veal ZnO nanocomposites with salicylidene amino acid chelates (as distinct from their ethers) in the form of S2 + ZnO (47%) and S2 + PVA + ZnO (48%) in comparison with S2 (20%). Structural, spectral properties of the salicylidene amino acids and their ZnO nanocomposites were studied.

The organization of the compartment of mesenchymal stem cells is still obscure. Two types of human stromal precursor cells are known. Both of them are analyzed in in vitro system: mesenchymal multipotent stromal cells (MMSC) and fibroblast colony forming units (CFU-F). The aim of this study was to compare the main characteristics of MMSC and CFU-F derived from the bone marrow of 24 healthy donors. growth and differentiation parameters, as well as relative expression levels of different genes were analyzed in MMSC and CFU-F. MMSC were cultivated for 5 passages. CFU-F concentration was determined for each bone marrow sample. The data obtained demonstrated the heterogeneity and hierarchical organization of both studied populations of stromal precursor cells-MMSC and CFU-F. These two types of stromal precursor cells turned to be different in most parameters studied. Altogether MMSC seemed to be more immature cells than CFU-F and took up the higher position in hierarchical tree of mesenchymal stem cells. The rate of differentiation and proliferative potential decreased with the donor’s age in both populations MMSC and CFU-F.

Hybrid inks are often used for the advertising products because a variety of effects can serve as an added value. Much attention is paid to the inks application settings, using the hybrid inks at the hi-tech offset equipment and color features of images. The thorough research of the different printing settings with the use of modern inks and efficient equipment, is an urgent problem. Work reveals some new facts about characteristics for printability such as emulsification and influences of ink’s additives on color characteristics of imprints. The experimental inks were developed to define the technological settings of offset printing. The result of research showed that conventional inks have the considerably high degree of emulsification comparing to experimental hybrid inks. Also it was discovered that the UV components influence the emulsification. An optimal water-ink balance and stable printing process can be achieved with adding of 2%-10% of the UV-component to the hybrid inks. Inks application and drying settings as well as color features of the imprints are analyzed in the context of offset printing.
