在无二硫苏糖醇(DTT)存在下得到部份纯化的氧化型PfP酶,在广泛的pH范围内(pH6.0～9.0)失去其大部分对果糖2,6-二磷酸的敏感性。活化效应可藉与DTT保温得到恢复而不改变其最适pH值。在与DTT保温过程中,酶对果糖2,6-二磷酸的亲和力逐步增加。氧化型酶的k_a值(对果糖2,6-二磷酸)在酶与DTT保温(pH8)1h之后从1400nmol/L下降到约50nmol/L。在DTT存在下纯化的酶(还原型)经低浓度5,5′-二硫代双(2-硝基苯甲酸)(DTNB)处理,在使酶活性迅速失活的同时引起酶对果糖2,6-二磷酸脱敏。这一过程可为DTT处理所回复。从小麦胚中纯化的硫氧还蛋白h在恢复酶活性和酶的果糖2,6-二磷酸敏感性的效应中表明,细胞内的氧化还原状态可能藉以改变酶对果糖2,6-二磷酸的亲和力而调节PfP酶的活性。

Selective hydrogenation improves interface properties of high-k dielectrics on 2D semiconductors

The integration of high-k dielectrics with two-dimensional(2D)semiconductors is a critical step towards high-performance nanoelectronics,which however remains challenging due to the high density of interface states and the damage to the monolayer 2D *** this study,we propose a selective hydrogenation strategy to improve the interface properties while the 2D semiconductors are not *** the interface of monolayer molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2))and silicon nitride as an example,we show substantially improved interface properties for electronic applications after the interfacial hydrogenation,as evidenced by reduced inhomogeneous charge redistribution,increased band offset,and nearly intact electronic properties of MoS_(2).Importantly,this hydrogenation process selectively occurs only at the silicon nitride surface and is compatible with the current semiconductor fabrication *** further show that this strategy is general and applicable to other interfaces between high-k dielectrics and 2D semiconductors such as hafnium dioxide(HfO_(2))on the monolayer MoS_(2).Our results demonstrate a simple yet viable way to improve the integration of high-k dielectrics on a broad range of 2D transition metal disulfide semiconductors,shedding light on practical electronic and optoelectronic applications.

Dear Editor, first discovered during 1947 in Uganda from febrile rhesus macaques, Zika virus （ZIkV） is a mosquito-borne, reemerging flavivirus historically known to be present in much of Africa and Asia, occasionally causing outbreaks amongst the local populace （Haddow et al., 2012）. ZIkV infections in humans are mostly asymptomatic, but a small percentage of patients may show clinical symptoms such as a fever and rash, which resolve within a week or less.

Growth and photosynthesis of Chlorella strains from polar,temperate and tropical freshwater environments under temperature stress

Elevated temperatures as a consequence of global warming have significant impacts on the adaptation and survival of microalgae which are important primary producers in many ecosystems. The impact of temperature on the photosynthesis of microalgae is of great interest as the primary production of algal biomass is strongly dependent on the photosynthetic rates in a dynamic environment. Here, we examine the effects of elevated temperature on Chlorella strains originating from different latitudes, namely Antarctic, Arctic, temperate and tropical regions. Chlorophyll fluorescence was used to assess the photosynthetic responses of the microalgae. Rapid light curves(RLCs) and maximum quantum yield( f_v/f_m) were recorded. The results showed that Chlorella originating from different latitudes portrayed different growth trends and photosynthetic performance. The Chlorella genus is eurythermal, with a broad temperature tolerance range, but with strain-specific characteristics. However, there was a large overlap between the tolerance range of the four strains due to their "eurythermal adaptivity". Changes in the photosynthetic parameters indicated temperature stress. The ability of the four strains to reactivate photosynthesis after inhibition of photosynthesis under high temperatures was also studied. The Chlorella strains were shown to recover in terms of photosynthesis and growth(measured as Chl a) when they were returned to their ambient temperatures. Polar strains showed faster recovery in their optimal temperature compared to that under the ambient temperature from which they were isolated.

Role of C11-fDG dual-tracer PET-CT scan in metastatic screening of hepatocellular carcinoma-a cost-effectiveness analysis

Background:We aimed to identify predictive factors for positron emission tomography(PET)-detected hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)metastasis and a cost-effective approach to preoperative PET-computed tomography(CT)for detecting ***:Clinicopathological and survival data of HCC patients having PET-CT with 18f-fludeoxyglucose(fDG)and 11C-acetate(ACT)following contrast-enhanced CT/magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)for preoperative tumor staging were *** logistic regression was performed to identify predictive factors for PET-detected metastasis.A cost-benefit analysis model was built for the incurred costs and the impact of PET-CT findings on treatment strategy was ***:Totally 152 patients were ***-tracer PET-CT detected metastasis in 17 patients(11%).By multivariate analysis,alpha-fetoprotein(AfP)≥400 ng/mL[relative risk(RR):4.30,95%confidence interval(CI):1.41-13.15,P=0.011]and bilobar disease(RR:3.94,95%CI:1.24-12.52,P=0.014)were independent predictive factors for PET-detected ***-CT findings altered the treatment strategy for 12 patients(7.9%);three partial hepatectomies,eight episodes of transarterial chemoembolization(TACE)and one episode of ablation were avoided,with an estimated cost-saving of US$91,000,$150,000 and$10,600 *** the PET-CT been performed only for patients with AfP≥400 ng/mL or bilobar disease(n=74),metastasis would have been confirmed in 14 patients(18.9%),and the cost-saving per patient was estimated at US$1,***:Dual-tracer PET-CT is cost-effective and useful for preoperative HCC staging in patients with AfP≥400 ng/mL or bilobar *** routine use in preoperative workup for all HCC patients is not *** disease with AfPfor PET-detected *** patients with either factor can avoid unnecessary procedures and is thus cost-effective for preoperative HCC workup.

Mesenchymal Stem Cell Allograft Improved Pain Management in Dogs with Osteoarthritis

Background: Osteoarthritis is one of the most common bone diseases, triggered by bone destruction stemming from the inflammatory response of chondrocytes. The disease progresses slowly, but halting its progression or finding a cure remains elusive. The treatment of pain associated with osteoarthritis has yielded unsatisfactory results. In recent years, mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have emerged as a potential avenue for addressing the condition. In this study, we used MSCs to treat companion dogs with osteoarthritis. Methods: for this study, 26 animals were included in this study to assess the pain and mobility one month after treatment. The pain scores were obtained from owners using a questionnaire based on the Helsinki Chronic Pain Index, and the Liverpool Osteoarthritis in Dogs (LOAD) Owner questionnaire to assess the mobility of the dogs from stem cell infusion. Results: Questionnaires were administered to dog owners before and one month after treatment, and we found that dogs treated with MSCS experienced an 81.2% ± 6.8% reduction in pain and a 77.9% ± 10.1% increase in mobility, whereas most of the dogs in the untreated control group experienced disease progression. Conclusions: The transplantation of stem cells into companion pets is a promising and expanding opportunity for pet owners with aging and arthritic dogs. MSCs may play an important role in the treatment of OA without complications in companion pets.
