We experimentally designed dispersion-managed repeaterless transmission systems with a pre-compensation and post-compensation technique using multi-channel-chirped fiber Bragg gratings. The repeaterless transmission link supports a single channel（1548.51 nm） with a 10 Gbps repeaterless transmission system over 300 km standard single-mode fiber（SSMF）. In the system design, two distributed Raman amplifiers（DRAs） were used to improve the signal level propagated along the 300 km SSMF. The co-propagating DRA provided 15 dB on–off gain and the counter-propagating produced 32 dB on–off gain at the signal wavelength. The experiment results show that the post-compensation configuration achieves an optimal performance with a bit error rate at 1 × 10-9.

BACkGROUND Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma(AITL)is a common subtype of peripheral T-cell *** half of patients with AITL may concurrently present with *** numbers of plasma cells in the bone marrow are commonly observed at *** tumors mimic plasma cell myelomas,hindering a conundrum of clinical diagnoses and potentially delaying appropriate *** SUMMARY A 78-year-old woman experienced poor appetite,weight loss of 5 kg,fatigue 2 months before presentation,and shortness of breath 2 d before presentation,but no fever or night *** examination revealed splenomegaly and many palpable masses over the bilateral axillary regions,approximately>2 cm in size,with rubbery consistency and no *** tests revealed anemia and thrombocytopenia,lactate dehydrogenase level of 153 U/L,total protein level of 10.9 g/dL,albumin to globulin ratio of 0.2,and immunoglobulin G level more than the upper limit of 3000 mg/*** free kappa and lambda light chain concentrations were 451 and 614 mg/L,respectively.A pathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of *** initial treatment was the cyclophosphamide,epirubicin,vincristine,and prednisolone *** this treatment,pleural effusion was controlled,and the patient was discharged in a stable condition and followed up in our outpatient *** This report highlights the importance of differentiating reactive plasmacytosis from plasma cell myeloma in patients with hypergammaglobulinemia.A precise diagnosis of AITL requires a comprehensive evaluation,involving clinical,immunophenotypic,and histological findings conducted by a multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate treatment.

The coupled level-set and volume of fluid(CLSVOF)method is an advanced interface-capturing method that has been extended to handle overset grid ***,artificial uneven interface may be observed across block boundaries of different sizes and *** present an improved inter-grid VOF interpolation and mass correction scheme to address the *** demonstrate the capability of the improved CLSVOF method,it is applied to the simulation of a container ship in pitch and heave motions under both head sea and following sea irregular wave *** simulation proves that the improved CLSVOF method is capable of revealing detailed physics difficult to see with other *** phenomena simulated in our work include the extensive greenwater propagation on the ship deck,the breakup of overtopping waves into small droplets,and the formation and collapse of air pockets in sudden bow and stern slamming which cause strong and highly localized impacts on the ship bow,stern,and rudder.

This study explored the effect of perceived social isolation on the mental health of college students during the high-risk period of COVID-19 transmission in Hubei,China and the role of social support from online friends in alleviating this *** questionnaire responses of 213 college students from four universities in Hubei were *** and structural models were constructed using structural equation *** findings revealed that perceived social isolation while under home quarantine was a negative predictor of the mental health of college students in *** social support from online friends may lead to a relatively strong relationship between perceived social isolation and mental health in these college students,whereas high social support from online friends may lead to a relatively weak relationship between perceived social isolation and mental health.

Planning and scheduling is one of the most important activity in supply chain operation *** the years,there have been multiple researches regarding planning and scheduling which are applied to improve a variety of supply *** includes two commonly used methods which are mathematical programming models and heuristics *** manufacturing systems are seen normally in industrial environments but few have considered certain constraints such as transportation capacity and transportation time within their supply chain.A two-stage flowshop of a single processing machine and a batch processing machine are considered with their capacity and transportation time between *** objectives of this research are to build a suitable mathematical model capable of minimizing the maximum completion time,to propose a heuristic optimization algorithm to solve the problem,and to develop an applicable program of the heuristics *** Integer Programming(MIP)model and a heuristics optimization algorithmwas developed and tested using a randomly generated data set for *** overall results and performance of each approach was compared between the two methods that would assist the decision maker in choosing a suitable solution for their manufacturing line.

The syntheses of nanosized carbonated hydroxyapatite （CHA） were performed by comparing dropwise and direct pouring of acetone solution of Ca（NO3）2·4H2O into mixture of （NH4）2HPO4 and NH4HCO3 at room temperature controlled at pH 11. Direct pouring method was later applied to study the increment of carbonate content in syntheses. The as-synthesized powders were characterized by various characterization techniques. The crystallographic results of the produced powders were obtained from X-ray diffraction analysis, whilst the carbonate content in the produced powders was determined by the CHNS/O elemental analyzer. Fourier transform infrared analysis confirmed that the CHA powders formed were B-type. Field emission scanning electron microscopy revealed that the powders were highly agglomerated in nanosized range and hence energy filtered transmission electron microscopy was employed to show elongated particles which decreased with increasing carbonate content.

DNA is a self-assembled,double stranded natural molecule that can chelate and align nickel ions between its base *** fabrication of a DNA-guided nickel ion chain (Ni-DNA) device was successful,as indicated by the conducting currents exhibiting a Ni ion redox reaction-driven negative differential resistance effect,a property unique to mem-elements (1).The redox state of nickel ions in the Ni-DNA device is programmable by applying an external bias with different polarities and writing times (2).The multiple states of Ni-DNA-based memristive and memcapacitive systems were characterized (3).As such,the development of Ni-DNA nanowire device-based circuits in the near future is proposed.

Recognition of Film Type Using HSV Features on Deep-Learning Neural Networks

The number of films is numerous and the film contents are complex over the Internet and multimedia sources. It is time consuming for a viewer to select a favorite film. This paper presents an automatic recognition system of film types. Initially, a film is firstly sampled as frame sequences. The color space, including hue, saturation,and brightness value(HSV), is analyzed for each sampled frame by computing the deviation and mean of HSV for each film. These features are utilized as inputs to a deep-learning neural network(DNN) for the recognition of film types. One hundred films are utilized to train and validate the model parameters of DNN. In the testing phase, a film is recognized as one of the five categories, including action, comedy, horror thriller, romance, and science fiction, by the trained DNN. The experimental results reveal that the film types can be effectively recognized by the proposed approach, enabling the viewer to select an interesting film accurately and quickly.

Bedform development and its effect on bed stabilization and sediment transport based on a flume experiment with non-uniform sediment

Non-uniform sediment deposited in a confined, steep mountain channel can alter the bed surface composition. This study evaluates the contribution of geometric and resistance parameters to bed stabilization and the reduction in sediment transport. Flume experiments were done under various hydraulic conditions with non-uniform bed material and no sediment supply from upstream. Results indicate that flume channels respond in a sequence of coarsening and with the formation of bedformroughness features such as rapids, cascades, and steps. A bedform development coefficient is introduced and is shown to increase(i.e. vertical sinuosity develops) in response to increasing shear stress during the organization process. The bedform development coefficient also is positively correlated with the critical Shields number and Manning’s roughness coefficient, suggesting the evolution of flow resistance with increasing bedform development. The sediment transport rate decreases with increasing bed shear stress and bedform development, further illustrating the effect of bed stabilization. An empirical sediment transport model for an equilibrium condition is proposed that uses the bedform development coefficient, relative particle submergence(i.e. the ratio of mean water depth and maximum sediment diameter), modified bed slope, and discharge. The model suggests bedform development can play a primary role in reducing sediment transport(increasing bed stabilization). The model is an extension of Lane’s(1955) relation specifically adapted for mountain streams. These results explain the significance of bedform development in heightening flow resistance, stabilizing the bed, and reducing sediment transport in coarse, steep channels.
