This study investigates the effect of aluminium oxide nanoparticlesaddition to biodiesel blends made from dairy milk.scum on performance and combustion characteristics of the diesel *** dispersion of Al2O3nanoparticles in B20 blends at different concentrations was done with the help of *** number of blends were prepared for the *** Machine learning algorithms(Random Forest（RF）and CatBoost) was used for the *** results show that in comparison to biodiesel blends without nanoparticles,the k.nematic viscosity and density is higher for fuel blends with *** these Fuel blends have higher calorific *** blends exhibited reduced Brak. Specific Fuel Consumption（BSFC） of2.85% than the blends without nano particles(Dairy Scum Methyl Ester Biodiesel 20%+Neat Diesel 80%（in volume）,DSMEB20),57.14% less CO,40.8% less hydrocarbon,and increased NOxemissions compared to conventional diesel,contributing to the development of environmentally friendly and renewable biofuel blends with *** B20NP30 is the optimal blend for performance and emission *** study concludes with findings on enhanced Brak. Thermal Efficiency（BTE） of 26.29% in 3×10-5（in volume） Al2O3nanoparticle-blended DSME B20 and other DSME B20 fuel blends,emphasizing the importance of optimal nanoparticle *** correlation matrix shows how engine load,efficiency measures（BTE,BSFC）,and emissions（CO,CO2,NOx,Smok.） are connected in complex *** results help us understand the complicated dynamics of engine performance and emission characteristics ***'s diagram for BTE and BSFC shows that CatBoost-based BTE models perform superior to RF-based models during the training as well as testing *** results were obtained for CO and CO2emission results.

Friction stir welding(FSW) of high strength aluminum alloys has been emerged as an alternative joining technique to avoid the problems during fusion *** recent times FSW is being used for armor grade AA7075 aluminum alloy in defense,aerospace and marine applications where it has to serve in non uniform loading and corrosive *** though friction stir welds of AA7075 alloy possess better mechanical properties but suffer from poor corrosion *** present work.involves use of retrogression and reaging(RRA) post weld heat treatment to improve the corrosion resistance of welded joints of aluminum *** attempt also has been made to change the chemical composition of the weld nugget by adding B4C nano particles with the aid of the FSW on a specially prepared base metal plate in butt *** effects of peak.aged condition(T6),RRA and addition of B4C nano particles on microstructure,hardness and pitting corrosion of nugget zone of the friction stir welds of AA7075 alloy have been *** though RRA improved the pitting corrosion resistance,its hardness was slightly *** improvement in pitting corrosion resistance was achieved with addition of boron carbide powder and post weld heat treatment of RRA.

Mechanical Properties and Microstructural Evolution of Bulk.UFG Al 2014 Alloy Processed Through Cryorolling and Warm Rolling

Tensile properties, microstructural evolution and fracture toughness of Al 2014 alloy subjected to cryorolling followed by warm rolling (CR + WR) have been investigated in the present study. The solution-treated (ST) Al 2014 alloy is cryorolled followed by warm rolling process at different temperatures (110, 170 and 210 ℃). The mechanical properties and microstructural features of deformed and undeformed Al 2014 alloys were characterised by optical microscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The CR + WR samples at 170 ℃ showed an improved hardness (179 HV), tensile (UTS 499 MPa, YS 457 MPa) and fracture toughness (k. = 37.49 MPa y/m, k.e = 37.39 MPa √m and J integral = 33.25 k./mm^2) with respect to ST alloy as measured from the tensile and fracture toughness test. The improved mechanical properties of CR + WR alloy are attributed to grain boundary strengthening, combined recovery and recrystallisation, precipitation hardening and dynamic ageing effect during the deformation. The precipitation of metastable spherical phase Al2Cu was responsible for the improved tensile and fracture properties of finegrained Al 2014 alloy observed in the present work.

Design of a robust PID-PSS for an uncertain power system with simplified stability conditions

In a deregulated power system uncertainty exists and lack.of sufficient damping can lead to Low FrequencyOscillations (LFO). The problem can be addressed using robust Power System Stabilizers (PSS). In this paper, anoptimal procedure to design a robust PID-PSS using interval arithmetic for the Single Machine Infinite Bus (SMIB)power system is proposed. The interval modelling captures the wide variations of operating conditions in boundsof system coefficients. In the proposed design procedure, simple and new closed loop stability conditions for anSMIB interval system are developed and are used to design an optimum PID-PSS for improving the performance ofan SMIB system. The optimum PID-PSS is attained by tuning the parameters using the FMINCON tool provided inMATLAB. The robustness of the proposed PID-PSS design is validated and compared to other notable methods inthe literature when the system is subjected to different uncertainties. The simulation results and performance errorvalues show the effectiveness of the proposed robust PID-PSS controller.

A MULTIGRID-ACCELERATED THREE-DIMENSIONAL TRANSIENT-FLOW CODE AND ITS APPLICATION TO A NEW TEST PROBLEM

A multigrid-assisted solver tbr the three-dimensional time-dependent incompressible Navier-Stok.s equations on graded Cartesian meshes is developed. The spatial accuracy is third-order for the convective terms and fourth-order for the viscous terms, and a fractional-step strategy ensures second-order time accuracy. To achieve good time-wise efficiency a multigrid technique is used to solve the highly time-consuming pressure-Poisson equation that requires to be solved at every time step. The speed-up achieved by multigrid is shown in tabular form. The performance and accuracy of the code are first ascertained by computing the flow in a single-sided lid-driven cubic cavity with good grid-economy and comparing the results available in the literature. The code, thus validated, is then applied to a new test problem we propose and various transient and asymptotically obtained steady-state results are presented. Given the care tak.n to establish the credibility of the code and the good spatio-temporal accuracy of the discretization, these results are accurate and may be used for ascertaining the performance of any computational algorithm applied to this test problem.

Adaptations of phytoplank.on in the Indian Ocean sector of the Southern Ocean during austral summer of 1998-2014

This study investigates the effects of light and temperature on the surface water diatoms and chloro- phytes, phytoplank.on in the Indian Ocean sector of the Southern Ocean （SO） during the austral summer of 1998- 2014. Significant longitudinal variations in hydrographic and biological parameters were observed at the Sub tropical front （STF）, Sub Antarctic front （SAF） and Polar front （PF） along 56°E-58°E. The concentrations of total surface chlorophyll a （Chl a）, diatoms, and chlorophytes measured by the National Aeronautics Space Agency （NASA） estimated by the Sea-Viewing Wide Field-of- View Sensors （SeaWiFS）, the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectro Radiometer （MODIS）, and the NASA Ocean Biological Model （NOBM） were used in the study. Variations in the concentration of total Chl a was remark.ble amongst the fronts during the study period. The contribution of diatoms to the total concentration of surface Chl a increased towards south from the STF to the PF while it decreased in the case of chlorophytes. The maximum photosynthetically active radiation （PAR） was observed at the STF and it progressively decreased to the PF through the SAF. At the PF region the contribution of diatoms to the total Chl a biomass was ≥80%. On the other hand, the chlorophytes showed a contrary distribution pattern with ≥ 70% of the total Chl a biomass recorded at the STF which gradually decreased towards the PF, mainly attributed to the temperate adaptation. This clearly reveals that the trend of diatoms increased at the STF and decreased at the SAF and the PF. Further, the trend of chlorophytes was increased at the STF, SAF and PF with a shift in the community in the frontal system of the Indian Ocean sector of the SO.

Novel benzimidazole derived naphthalimide triazoles: synthesis, antimicrobial activity and interactions with calf thymus DNA

A novel series of benzimidazole derived naphthalimide triazoles and some corresponding triazoliums have been successfully synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR, 13 C NMR, 1H-1H COSY, IR and HRMS spectra. All the new compounds were screened for their antimicrobial activities in vitro by two-fold serial dilution. 2-Chlorobenzyl triazolium 8g and compound 9b with octyl group exhibited the best antibacterial activities among all the tested compounds, especially against S. aureus with inhibitory concentration of 2 μg/mL which was equipotent potency to Norfloxacin(MIC=2 μg/mL) and more active than Chloromycin(MIC=7 μg/mL). Triazoliums 8g and 8f bearing 3-fluorobenzyl moiety displayed the best antifungal activities(MIC=2-19 μg/mL) against all the tested fungal strains without being toxic to PC12 cell line within concentration of 128 μg/m L. Further investigations by fluorescence and UV-Vis spectroscopic methods revealed that the compound 8g could effectively intercalate into calf thymus DNA to form the 8g-DNA complex which could block.DNA replication, exerting powerful antimicrobial activities.

Coumarin-derived azolyl ethanols:synthesis,antimicrobial evaluation and preliminary action mechanism

A series of coumarin-derived azolyl ethanols including imidazolyl,triazolyl,tetrazolyl,benzotriazolyl,thiol-imidazolyl and thiol-triazolyl ones were conveniently synthesized and characterized by IR,~1H NMR,^(13)C NMR and high-resolution mass spectra(HRMS) *** of the prepared compounds showed appropriate logP_(ow) values and effective antibacterial and antifungal ***,compound 14 with bis-triazolyl ethanol group exhibited low minimal inhibitory concentration(MIC)value of 8 μg/mL against MRSA,which was comparable or even superior to reference drugs Norfloxacin(MIC=8μg/mL)and Chloramphenicol(MIC=16μg/mL).It could also effectively inhibit the growth of the tested fungal strains compared to *** binding studies of coumarin 14 with calf thymus DNA were investigated by UV-Vis absorption and fluorescence *** was found that compound 14 could interact with calf thymus DNA by groove binding to form14-DNA complex via both hydrogen bonds and van der Waals force,which might be the factor to exert the powerful antimicrobial activity.
