Facial Ind.x Based.2d.Facial Composite Process for Forensic Investigation in Sri Lank.

The “facial composite” is one of the major field. in the forensic science that helps the criminal investigators to carry out their investigation process. The survey cond.cted.by United.States Law Enforcement Agencies confirms that 80% of the law enforcement agencies use computer automated.composite systems whereas Sri Lank. is still far behind.in the process of facial composite with lot of inefficiencies in the current manual process. Hence this research introd.ces a novel approach for the manual facial composite process, while eliminating the inefficiencies of the manual proced.re in Sri Lank.. In ord.r to overcome this situation, this stud. introd.ces an automated.image processing based.software solution with 2d.facial feature templates targeting the Sri Lank.n population. Thus, this was the first ever approach that creates the 2d.facial feature templates by incorporating both med.cally d.fined.ind.xes and.relevant aesthetic aspects. Hence, this research stud. is comprised.of two separate analyses on anthropometric ind.ces and.facial feature shapes which were carried.out targeting the local population. Subsequently, several evaluation techniques were utilized.to evaluate this method.logy where we obtained.an overall success rate as 70.19%. The ultimate goal of this research stud. is to provid. a system to the law enforcement agencies in ord.r to carry out an efficient and.effective facial composite process which can lead.to increase the success rate of suspect id.ntification.

A facile,one-pot,urea solution combustion route was utilized.to synthesize highly catalytic CeO2 ***2 prepared.und.r varying thermal cond.tions was characterized.by electron microscopy,energy d.spersive X-ray spectroscopy,X-ray d.ffraction,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,infrared.and.Raman *** the synthesis temperature is raised.from 400 to 1000℃,the crystallite size and.d.pacing of nanoparticles are observed.to red.ce while cell parameters remain in the same *** size exhibits an accession from~20 to~50 nm along the *** CeO2 nanoparticles are d.tected.as a composite structure of CeO2 and.graphitic carbon nitrid.(g-C3 N4)prod.ced.by the pyrolysis of *** the solid.carbon particulate oxid.tion capacity,an outstand.ng performance is exhibited.by CeO2 synthesized.at 800℃where the oxid.tion onset temperature is red.ced.by 27%compared.with the *** superior performance is attributed.to the carbon nitrid.-generated.unique CeO2 nanomorphology consolid.ting ample reactive sites and.facilitated.oxygen d.livery for a highly efficient thermocatalytic *** atmospheric pollution mitigation,synthesis of these CeO2 nanostructures represents a cost effective and.convenient abatement technique for carbon particulates in comparison to cost-intensive,environmentally d.trimental and.noble-metal based.techniques.

Synthesis of ultrathin heterostructures has received.much attention in the recent past d.e to their unique physical and.chemical *** this work.we report the synthesis of Fe_(2)TiO_(5)–TiO_(2)heterostructures using a simple hyd.othermal technique employing natural ilmenite as the *** arranged.nanostructures with interconnected.nano-petals of thick.ess around.50 nm are *** electrocatalytic properties of the synthesized.Fe_(2)TiO_(5)–TiO_(2)heterostructures are enhanced.following the cathod.zation *** observed.enhancement in the synthesized.materials’electrocatalytic property can be attributed.to the d.fect-rich Fe_(2-x)TiO_(5-x)-TiO_(2-x)*** current approach and.technique d.scussed.in this work.offer a simple method.to synthesize a nanostructured.heterostructure material and.create d.fects for enhancing electrocatalytic activity.
