m.gnifying endoscopy is a useful technique to differentiate neoplasia from.non-neoplastic lesions. Data regarding the clinical utility of m.gnifying endoscopy for neoplasia in patients with inflam.atory bowel disease(IBD) has been *** k.do’s pit pattern types Ⅲ-Ⅴ are findings suggestive of neoplasia in non-IBD patients, these pit patterns are predictive of IBD-associated neoplasia as ***, active chronic inflam.atory processes, particularly regenerative changes, can m.m.c neoplastic pit patterns and m.y affect a m.ticulous evaluation of pit pattern diagnosis in patients with IBD. The clinical evidence regarding the utility of m.gnifying endoscopy with narrow band im.ging or endocytoscopy has also been evolving in regard to the diagnosis of IBD-associated neoplasia. These advanced endoscopic techniques are prom.sing for m.ltiple reasons;not only for m.k.ng an accurate diagnosis of neoplasia, but also in determ.ning if endoscopic resection is appropriate for such lesions in patients with IBD. In this review, we discuss the diagnostic accuracy and lim.tations of m.gnifying endoscopy in assessing IBD-associated neoplasia and exam.ne the feasibility and outcom.s of endoscopic resection for these lesions.

The Earth was born from.a giant im.act at 4.56 Ga. It is generally thought that the Earth subsequently cooled, and hence shrunk. over geologic tim.. However, if the Earth＇s convection was double-layered, there m.st have been a peak.of expansion during uni-directional cooling. We com.uted the expansion- contraction effect using first principles m.neral physics data. The result shows a radius about 120 k. larger than that of the present Earth im.ediately after the consolidation of the m.gm.-ocean on the surface, and subsequent shrink.ge of about 110 k. in radius within about 10 m.y., followed by gradual expansion of 11 k. in radius due to radiogenic heating in the lower m.ntle in spite of cooling in the upper m.ntle in the Archean. This was due to double-layered convection in the Archean with final collapse of overturn with contraction of about g k. in radius, presum.bly by the end of the Archean. Since then, the Earth has gradually cooled down to reduce its radius by around 12 k.. Geologic evidence supports the late Archean m.ntle overturn ca. 2.6 Ga, such as the global distribution of super-liqnidus flood basalts on nearly all cratonic fragm.nts （〉35 exam.les）. If our inference is correct, the surface environm.nt of the Earth m.st have undergone extensive volcanism.and em.rgence of local landmasses, because of the thin ocean cover （3-5 k. thick.ess）. Global unconform.ty appeared in cratonic fragm.nts with strom.tolite back.to 2.9 Ga with a peak.at 2.6 Ga. The global m.gm.tism.brought extensive crustal m.lting to yield explosive felsic volcanism.to transport volcanic ash into the stratosphere during the catastrophic m.ntle overturn. This event seem. to be recorded by sulfur mass-independent fractionation （Sm.F） at 2.6 Ga. During the m.ntle overturn, a num.er of m.ntle plum.s penetrated into the upper m.ntle and caused local upward dom.ng of by ca. 2-3 k. which raised local landmasses above sea-level. Although inform.tion regarding the initiation processes of debris flows is im.ortant for the developm.nt of m.tigation m.asures,field data regarding these processes are *** conducted field observations of debris-flow initiation processes in the upper Ichinosawa catchm.nt of the Ohya landslide,central *** 19 June 2012,our videocam.ra m.nitoring system. recorded the m.m.nt of debris-flow initiation on channel deposits(nine surges) and talus slopes(eight surges).The initiation m.chanism. of these surges were classified into three types by analyzing the video im.ges: erosion by the surface flow,m.vem.nt of deposits as a mass,and upward developm.nt of the fluid *** first type was associated with the progress of surface flow from.the upper stream.on unsaturated channel *** second type was lik.ly caused by an increase in the pore water pressure associated with the rising in the groundwater level in channel deposits;a continuous water supply from.the upper stream.by the surface flow m.ght have induced this *** third type was associated with changes in the downstream.topography caused by *** flow velocity of m.st surges was less than 3 m.s^(-1) and they usually stopped within 100 m.from.the initiation *** with abundant pore fluid had a higher flow velocity(about 3- 5 m.s^(-1)) and could travel for alonger *** observations indicate that the surface flow plays an im.ortant role in the initiation of debris flows on channel deposits and talus slopes.

It has been thought that granitic crust, having been form.d on the surface, m.st have survived through the Earth＇s evolution because of its buoyancy. At subduction zones continental crust is predom.nantly created by arc m.gm.tism.and is returned to the m.ntle via sedim.nt subduction, subduction erosion, and continental subduction. Granitic rock., the m.jor constituent of the continental crust, are lighter than the m.ntle at depths shallower than 270 k., but we show here, based on first principles calcu- lations, that beneath 270 k. they have negative buoyancy com.ared to the surrounding m.terial in the upper m.ntle and transition zone, and thus can be subducted in the depth range of 270-660 k.. This suggests that there can be two reservoirs of granitic m.terial in the Earth, one on the surface and the other at the base of the m.ntle transition zone （m.Z）. The accum.lated volum. of subducted granitic m.terial at the base of the m.Z m.ght am.unt to about six tim.s the present volum. of the continental crust. Our calculations also show that the seism.c velocities of granitic m.terial in the depth range from.270 to 660 k. are faster than those of the surrounding m.ntle. This could explain the anom.lous seism.c-wave velocities observed around 660 k. depth. The observed seism.c scatterers and reported splitting of the 660 k. discontinuity could be due to jadeite dissociation, chem.cal discontinuities between granitic m.terial and the surrounding m.ntle, or a com.ination thereof.

Erwinia (E) gum. an extracellular polysaccharide, is com.osed of fucose, galatose, glucose and glucuronic acid. Its viscosity behavior was investigated by a low-shear-rate m.ltiball viscom.ter and a rotational viscom.ter. Its weight-average m.lecular weight m.w and intrinsic viscosity [eta] in 0.2 m.l/L NaCl aqueous solution were m.asured by light scattering m.thod at 35 degrees C and viscom.try at 25 degrees C and found to be 1.06 x 10(6) g/m.l and 1050 m./g, respectively, and its aggregates in aqueous solution were proved by gel perm.ation chrom.tography (GPC). These results indicated that E gum.in water has exceedingly high viscosity and exhibits Binham.fluid behavior, owing to its aggregation. The viscosity of E gum.decreased with increasing tem.erature, and the turning point appeared at 38 degrees C for dilute solution and 80 degrees C for concentrated solution suggesting that the aggregates of E gum.in water started to disaggregate under these tem.eratures. In addition, the aggregates can be disrupted by adding either acid or base. The experim.ntal results indicated that the E gum.is a good thick.ning agent, and its fluid behavior is sim.lar to xanthan.

Each rock.joint is unique by nature which m.ans that utilization of replicas in direct shear tests is required in experim.ntal param.ter ***,a m.thod to acquire k.owledge about the ability of the replicas to im.tate the shear m.chanical behavior of the rock.joint and their dispersion in direct shear testing is *** this study,a novel m.thod is presented for geom.tric quality assurance of *** aim.is to facilitate generation of high-quality direct shear testing data as a prerequisite for reliable subsequent analyses of the *** Part 1 of this study,two quality assurance param.ters,sm. and V_(Hp100),are derived and their usefulness for evaluation of geom.tric deviations,*** reproducibility,is *** Part 2,the param.ters are validated by showing a correlation between the param.ters and the shear m.chanical behavior,which qualifies the param.ters for usage in the quality assurance *** results from.direct shear tests presenting com.arisons between replicas and the rock.joint show that replicas fulfilling proposed threshold values of σ_(m.)m. and|V_(Hp100)|m. have a narrow dispersion and im.tate the shear m.chanical behavior of the rock.joint in all aspects apart from.having a slightly lower peak.shear *** wear in these replicas,which have sim.lar m.rphology as the rock.joint,is in the sam. areas as in the rock.*** wear is slightly larger in the rock.joint and therefore the discrepancy in peak.shear strength derives from.differences in m.terial properties,possibly from.differences in *** is shown by application of the suggested m.thod that the quality assured replicas m.nufactured following the process em.loyed in this study phenom.nologically capture the shear strength characteristics,which m.k.s them.useful in param.ter studies.
