Population genetics studies of allopolyploid species lag behind those of diploid species because of practical difficulties in analysis of homeologs-duplicated gene copies originating from hybridized parental species. Pool-Seq, i.e. massive parallel sequencing of pooled individuals, has high potential for detecting nucleotide polymorphisms within and among multiple populations;however, its use has been limited to diploid species. We applied Pool-Seq to an allopolyploid species by developing a bioinformatic pipeline that assigns reads to each homeolog as well as to each polymorphic allele within each homeolog. We simultaneously sequenced eight genes from twenty individuals from each of 24 populations, and found over 100 polymorphic sites in each homeolog. For two sites, we estimated allele frequencies using the number of reads and then validated these estimations by mak.ng individual-based estimations. Pool-Seq using our bioinformatic pipeline allows efficient evaluation of nucleotide polymorphisms in a large number of individuals, even in allopolyploid species.

In the face of increasingly serious environmental pollution,the health of human lung tissues is also facing serious *** IIE(M2E)is the main metabolite of sweetening agents mogrosides from the anti-tussive Chinese herbal Siraitia *** study elucidated the anti-inflammatory action and molecular mechanism of M2E against acute lung injury(ALI).A lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced ALI model was established in mice and MH-S cells were employed to explore the protective mechanism of M2E through the western blotting,co-immunoprecipitation,and quantitative real time-PCR *** results indicated that M2E alleviated LPS-induced lung injury through restraining the activation of secreted phospholipase A2 type IIA(Pla2g2a)-epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR).The interaction of Pla2g2a and EGFR was identified by *** addition,M2E protected ALI induced with LPS against inflammatory and damage which were significantly dependent upon the downregulation of Ak. and m TOR via the inhibition of ***2g2a may represent a potential target for M2E in the improvement of LPS-induced lung injury,which may represent a promising strategy to treat ALI.

Construction and Validity of Chinese Translation of the Universal Mental Health Literacy Scale for Adolescents

Back.round: In this study, the Universal Mental Health Literacy Scale for Adolescents (UMHL-A) was revised and tested for its reliability and validity in Chinese middle school students, thus establishing a useful tool for assessing the mental health of individuals in this occupation. Methods: Our sample comprised 1208 junior high school students (58.85% male), aged between 11 and 15 years old. The Chinese version of the scale includes a mental health attitude subscale and mental health k.owledge subscale, including attitudes towards seek.ng help, attitudes related to stigma, general mental health k.owledge, and k.owledge about specific mental illnesses, encapsulated in a total of 17 items. A series of psychometric analyses such as exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and internal consistency reliability estimation were carried out in this study. Results: The results of the CFA indicated that the two-factor model had an acceptable model fit (Attitude (UMHL-A Lik.rt): χ2/df = 4.107; RMSEA = 0.072; SRMR = 0.045; TLI = 0.932; CFI = 0.954; k.owledge (UMHL-A T/F): χ2/df = 3.647; RMSEA = 0.066; SRMR = 0.044; TLI = 0.923; CFI = 0.945). The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of subscales of the Chinese version UMHL-A were 0.80 and 0.78, respectively. Conclusion: In general, the Chinese version of the Universal Mental Health Literacy Scale for adolescents has good reliability and validity and can be used as a tool to measure the mental health literacy of Chinese adolescents. © 2024 The Authors.

This study presents a comparative analysis of two image enhancement techniques, Continuous Wavelet Transform (CWT) and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), in the context of improving the clarity of high-quality 3D seismic data obtained from the Tano Basin in West Africa, Ghana. The research focuses on a comparative analysis of image clarity in seismic attribute analysis to facilitate the identification of reservoir features within the subsurface structures. The findings of the study indicate that CWT has a significant advantage over FFT in terms of image quality and identifying subsurface structures. The results demonstrate the superior performance of CWT in providing a better representation, mak.ng it more effective for seismic attribute analysis. The study highlights the importance of choosing the appropriate image enhancement technique based on the specific application needs and the broader context of the study. While CWT provides high-quality images and superior performance in identifying subsurface structures, the selection between these methods should be made judiciously, tak.ng into account the objectives of the study and the characteristics of the signals being analyzed. The research provides valuable insights into the decision-mak.ng process for selecting image enhancement techniques in seismic data analysis, helping researchers and practitioners mak. informed choices that cater to the unique requirements of their studies. Ultimately, this study contributes to the advancement of the field of subsurface imaging and geological feature identification.

Electrolysis tank. are used to smelt metals based on electrochemical principles, and the short-circuiting of the pole plates in the tank. in the production process will lead to high temperatures, thus affecting normal production. Aiming at the problems of time-consuming and poor accuracy of existing infrared methods for high-temperature detection of dense pole plates in electrolysis tank., an infrared dense pole plate anomalous target detection network.YOLOv5-RMF based on You Only Look.Once version 5 (YOLOv5) is proposed. Firstly, we modified the Real-Time Enhanced Super-Resolution Generative Adversarial Network.(Real-ESRGAN) by changing the U-shaped network.(U-Net) to Attention U-Net, to preprocess the images; secondly, we propose a new Focus module that introduces the Marr operator, which can provide more boundary information for the network. again, because Complete Intersection over Union (CIOU) cannot accommodate target borders that are increasing and decreasing, replace CIOU with Extended Intersection over Union (EIOU), while the loss function is changed to Focal and Efficient IOU (Focal-EIOU) due to the different difficulty of sample detection. On the homemade dataset, the precision of our method is 94%, the recall is 70.8%, and the map@.5 is 83.6%, which is an improvement of 1.3% in precision, 9.7% in recall, and 7% in map@.5 over the original network. The algorithm can meet the needs of electrolysis tank.pole plate abnormal temperature detection, which can lay a technical foundation for improving production efficiency and reducing production waste.
