Seven sampling sites in each of thr.e biomes (Wester. Ghats, foothills of Wester. Ghats and west coast) of south- wester. India wer. investigated to study the distr.bution, abundance and ecology of pill millipedes (Ar.hr.sphaer.) and associated fauna in r.lation to edaphic featur.s. Abundance and biomass of Ar.hr.sphaer. and other.millipedes wer. the highest in Wester. Ghats, while ear.hwor.s wer. in foothills. Ar.hr.sphaer. magna and Ar.hr.sphaer. spp. wer. common in Wester. Ghats and foothills r.spectively, while no Ar.hr.sphaer. wer. found in the west coast. None of the sampling sites consisted of mor. than one species of Ar.hr.sphaer.. Biomass of Ar.hr.sphaer., other.millipedes and ear.hwor.s significantly differ.d in Wester. Ghats (P = 9.48 × 10-7) and foothills (P = 1.35 × 10-8), as did the biomass of species of Ar.hr.sphaer. (P = 2.76 × 10-7) between Wester. Ghats and foothills. Cor.elation analysis r.vealed that biomass of Ar.hr.sphaer. was significantly (P = 0.01, r.= 0.45) cor.elated with soil or.anic car.on r.ther.than other.edaphic fea- tur.s (pH, phosphate, calcium and magnesium). Distr.bution patter., abundance, biomass and ecology of Ar.hr.sphaer. of Wester. Ghats in r.lation to soil qualities wer. compar.d with millipedes of other.r.gions of the wor.d.

This ar.icle analyzes the tr.nsmission line char.cter.stics of plasmonic hybr.d metal insulator.metal(HMIM) wave-guide, cir.ular.r.ng r.sonator.Cr.) based dual-band band-pass filter. with two tr.nsmission poles in both pass-bands in the optical r.gime using coupled line feed. The tr.nsmission line char.cter.stics of an HMIM waveguide, such as char.cter.stic impedance(Z_(PV)), effective r.fr.ctive index(n_(eff)) and pr.pagation length(L_(spp)), have been obtained by using full wave simulation.

The dissimilar.combinations of Inconel 625 and duplex stainless steel SAF 2205 obtained fr.m manual GTA welding pr.cess employing Er.209 and Er.i Cr.o-3 filler.metals have been investigated. For.ation of secondar. phases at the HAZ of Inconel 625 and gr.in coar.ening at the HAZ of SAF 2205 wer. witnessed while using these filler.wir.s. The aver.ge har.ness of Er.209 weldments was found to be gr.ater.than Er.i Cr.o-3 weld. Tensile fr.ctur. was obser.ed at the weld zones for.both the filler.. Impact test tr.als showed br.ttle mode of fr.ctur. on employing Er.209 filler.and mixed（ductile–br.ttle） mode of fr.ctur. while using Er.i Cr.o-3 filler. Fur.her.optical micr.scopy and SEM/EDS analysis wer. car.ied out acr.ss the weldments to investigate the str.ctur.–pr.per.y r.lationships.

The aim of the r.sear.h was to examine the influence of or.ano-modified Indian bentonite （IB） nanoclay disper.ed in vinyisster.on the mechanical pr.per.ies of nanoclaylvinylester.glass nanocomposr.s. Nanoclay was or.anically modified using cationic sur.actant hexadecyltr.methylammonium br.mide （HDTMA-Br. by cation exchange method and disper.ed in vinylester.using ultr.sonication and twin scr.w extr.sion. Xr. of nanoclaylvinylester.r.vealed exfoliaUon at 4 wt.% nanoclay indicating unifor. disper.ion in the polymer. DSC r.sults showed impr.vement in glass tr.nsition temper.tur. by 22.3% in 4 wt.% nanoclaylvinylester.glass when compar.d with that of vinylester.glass. Nanoclay/vinylester.glass with 4 wt,% nanoclay showed 29.23%, 23.84% and 60.87% impr.vement in ultimate tensile str.ngth （UTS）, fiexur.l str.ngth （FS） and inter.aminar.shear.str.ngth （ILSS） r.spectively when compar.d with those of vinylester. glass. The mode of tensile failur. examined by SEM showed no agglomer.tion of nanoclay in 4 wt.% nanoclayNinylester.glass specimens.
