Ecofriendly Management of Wheat Panicle Blast Caused by Magnaporthe oryzae triticum

In this study, three wheat varieties were tested to determine seed germination and the incidence of Magnaporthe oryzae triticum (MoT). Among these varieties, BARI Gom 24 (Prodip) wheat seed exhibited the highest seed germination rate (93%) but also had the highest incidence (30%) of MoT. To manage blast disease in an ecofriendly manner, seven treatments were employed: T1 = Control, T2 = Garlic clove extracts, T3 = Aloe vera leaf extracts, T4 = Black.cumin seed extracts, T5 = Neem leaf extracts, T6 = Nativo 75 WG, and T7 = Provax 200 WP. The experiment was conducted using a Randomized Complete Block.Design (RCBD) layout with three replications using Prodip wheat variety that exhibited highest MoT infection severity based on laboratory analysis among collected varieties. Data were collected on blast disease incidence (%), disease severity, and various growth and yield parameters of wheat. The experiment’s results indicated that among all the treatments, T7 (Seed treatment with Provax 200 WP) and T5 (Foliar spraying with Neem leaf extract) performed better in controlling blast disease in wheat. The lowest blast disease incidence (%) was observed with T7 (Provax 200 WP), with values of 7.86, 9.86, and 10.19 recorded during the milk.ng stage, soft dough stage, and hard dough stage of wheat, respectively. T5 (Neem leaf extract) also demonstrated a statistically equivalent reduction in blast disease incidence (%). In terms of disease severity, T7 (Seed treatment with Provax 200 WP) showed the lowest values of 1.03, 1.23, and 1.63 during the milk.ng stage, soft dough stage, and hard dough stage of wheat, respectively. Foliar spraying with neem leaf extract also exhibited similar result as of Provax 200 WP regarding panicle blast severity. Relationship between Dual-Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry-Derived Appendicular Lean Tissue Mass and Total Body Sk.letal Muscle Mass Estimated by Ultrasound

Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) is an attractive method for evaluating sarcopenia, age-related loss of sk.letal muscle mass and function, using appendicular lean tissue (aLT) mass for criteria of diagnosis, although minimal radiation is exposed. Sk.letal muscle (SM) mass can be estimated by using ultrasound-measured muscle thick.ess (MTH). However, the association between these two methods is unclear. To examine the relationship between DXA-derived aLT mass and total body SM mass estimated by ultrasound, thirty-six healthy adults (18 men and 18 women) aged 19 - 65 years participated in this study. Ultrasound-measured muscle thick.ess was used to estimate the total SM mass. DXA was used to estimate whole body and regional body composition, and aLT mass was considered equivalent to the sum of lean tissue in both the right and left arms and legs. Total SM mass (26.3 ± 4.4 k. for men and 15.7 ± 2.6 k. for women) estimated by ultrasound was similar to DXA-estimated aLT mass (24.5 ± 3.8 k. for men and 15.7 ± 2.7 k. for women). There was a strong correlation between DXA-measured aLT mass and total SM mass estimated by ultrasound in men (r = 0.927, n = 18) and women (r = 0.931, n = 18) as well as overall sample (r = 0.975, n = 36). The ratio of total SM mass to aLT mass was 1.07 for men and 1.00 for women. These results suggest that DXA-derived aLT mass can be accurately predicted from ultrasound estimated total SM mass, although the predicted value may underestimate in men (approximately 7% at the group level).

Effective Elimination of Hazardous Chromium (VI) Using Periodic Elements and Contemporary Adsorption Methods by Using Magnesium Ferrite Nanoparticle: A Review

A well-k.own hazardous metal and top contaminant in wastewater is hexavalent chromium. The two forms of most commonly found chromium are chromate ( CrO 4 2− ) and dichromate ( Cr 2 O 7 2− ). Leather tanning, cooling tower blow-down, plating, electroplating, rinse water sources, anodizing baths etc. are the main sources of Cr (VI) contamination. The Cr (VI) is not only non-biodegradable in the environment but also carcinogenic to living population. It is still difficult to treat Cr contaminated waste water effectively, safely, eco-friendly, and economically. As a result, many techniques have been used to treat Cr (VI)-polluted wastewater, including adsorption, chemical precipitation, coagulation, ion-exchange, and filtration. Among these practices, the most practical method is adsorption for the removal of Cr (VI) from aqueous solutions, which has gained widespread acceptance due to the ease of use and affordability of the equipment and adsorbent. It has been revealed that Fe-based adsorbents’ oxides and hydroxides have high adsorptive potential to lower Cr (VI) content below the advised threshold. Fe-based adsorbents were also discovered to be relatively cheap and toxic-free in Cr (VI) treatment. Fe-based adsorbents are commonly utilized in industry. It has been discovered that nanoparticles of Fe-, Ti-, and Cu-based adsorbents have a better capacity to remove Cr (VI). Cr (VI) was effectively removed from contaminated water using mixed element-based adsorbents (Fe-Mn, Fe-Ti, Fe-Cu, Fe-Zr, Fe-Cu-Y, Fe-Mg, etc.). Initial findings suggest that Cr (VI) removal from wastewater may be accomplished by using magnesium ferrite nanomaterials as an efficient adsorbent.

In this paper, a new statistical averaging technique is proposed for finding an optimal solution to a multi-objective linear fractional programming problem (MOLFPP) and multi-objective linear programming problem (MOLPP) by using new arithmetic averaging method and new geometric averaging method. It is significantly noticeable same characteristics among all the technique while tak.ng maximum or minimum among all optimized values for multi-objective functions using simplex algorithm. The characteristics provided from the problems are verified by the numerical examples.

Intra-operative consult for cystic struma ovarii—An experience in an academic medical center: A study of 53 cases over 21 years

Struma ovarii often escapes recognition during intraoperative consultation because of its rarity, subtle characteristic gross appearance, and lack.of clinical suspicion. An intraoperative diagnosis of benign struma ovarii enables the general gynecologic surgeon to continue the planned surgery. However, a diagnosis of malignnancy in a struma ovarii would alter the course of surgery with the involvement of a gynecologic oncology surgeon. We present here that our experience with intraoperative consultation for preoperatively undiagnosed struma ovarii presenting as an adnexal cystic or solid mass at our teaching hospital. Fifty-three cases of struma ovarii, 5.2% of all cystic teratoma of the same period, were diagnosed between January 1991 and March 2011. All intraoperative consultation reports, gross descriptions and final pathology reports were reviewed. The H&E stained slides and in selected cases, immunohistochemistry stained slides, were reviewed. Of the 53 cases of struma ovarii, intraoperative consultation was requested on 48 cases. Frozen section was done on 24 cases and only gross examination was felt appropriate in remaining 24 cases. 83% cases were diagnosed when a frozen section was done. None of the remaining 24 cases were recognized as struma by gross inspection. Our findings reveal that in a large number of cases the diagnosis of struma ovarii remained unrecognized during intraoperative consultation, indicating its often subtle/deceptive gross morphologic appearance. However, the purpose of the intraoperative consultation was served, as appropriate information was provided to the surgeon to guide the surgical management.

This study presents a novel and innovative approach to auto-matically translating Arabic Sign Language(ATSL)into spok.n *** proposed solution utilizes a deep learning-based classification approach and the transfer learning technique to retrain 12 image recognition *** image-based translation method maps sign language gestures to corre-sponding letters or words using distance measures and classification as a machine learning *** results show that the proposed model is more accurate and faster than traditional image-based models in classifying Arabic-language signs,with a translation accuracy of 93.7%.This research mak.s a significant contribution to the field of *** offers a practical solution for improving communication for individuals with special needs,such as the deaf and mute *** work.demonstrates the potential of deep learning techniques in translating sign language into natural language and highlights the importance of ATSL in facilitating communication for individuals with disabilities.

Hepatic Histoplasmosis: An Update

Histoplasma capsulatum is the most common cause of en-demic mycosis in developing countries. It is a self-limited and asymptomatic disease in immunocompetent individu-als but remains a frequent cause of opportunistic infection in patients with compromised immune status. Liver in-volvement as a part of disseminated histoplasmosis is well k.own. However, liver infection as a primary manifestation of histoplasmosis without evidence of primary lung involve-ment is rare. In conclusion, clinicians should be aware of isolated histoplasmosis affecting the hepatobiliary system, and careful evaluation is warranted to confirm the diagno-sis. Given the appropriate clinical context, histoplasmosis should be considered in both immunocompetent and immu-nocompromised patients, regardless of pulmonary symp-toms, in non endemic as well as endemic areas.
