Bacteriophages represen. a rich an. un.que resource of an.i-in.ectives to coun.er the global problem of an.ibiotic resis- tan.e. In.this work. we assessed the bactericidal activity of two virulen. staphylococcal phages, k.an. 44AHJD, again.t S. aureus isolates of clin.cal sign.fican.e, an. tested their efficacy in.vivo. The phage cock.ail lysed >85% of the clin.cal isolates tested. Both the phages were purified by ion.exchan.e column.chromatography followin. propagation.in.bioreactors. The purity profiles of the ion.exchan.e purified phages were compared with those of phages purified usin. cesium chloride den.ity gradien. ultracen.rifugation. an. in.ectiousn.ss of the purified phages was con.irmed by plaque formin. assay. The in.vivo efficacy of a phage cock.ail was evaluated in.an.experimen.al murin. n.sal colon.zation.model, which showed that the phage cock.ail was efficacious. To our k.owledge, this is the first report of phage use in.an.in.vivo model of n.sal carriage.

Aim: To prove that topical an.ifun.al an. an.ibiotic prophylaxis distributed by grass roots village health work.rs (VHWs) in.Burma is an.effective public health in.erven.ion.for the preven.ion.of post-traumatic microbial k.ratitis in.a population.where the majority of ulcers are fun.al. Methods: Three villages in.Bago District with a combin.d population.of 16 987 were selected for the study. This defin.d population.was followed prospectively for 12 mon.hs by 15 VHWs who were train.d to iden.ify post-traumatic corn.al abrasion. with fluorescein.dye an. a blue torch an. to admin.ster 1%chloramphen.col an. 1%clotrimazole oin.men. three times a day for 3 days to the eyes of in.ividuals who fulfilled the eligibility criteria. Results: Durin. the 12 mon.h period 273 in.ividuals reported to VHWs with an.ocular in.ury an. 126 were foun. to have a corn.al abrasion. All 126 were treated with 1%chloramphen.col an. 1%clotrimazole oin.men. three times a day for 3 days, an. all healed without sequelae. 采用复合铸造工艺制备AZ31B镁合金及其纳米复合材料,再对所得材料在350°C进行热挤压。采用标准的销-盘式摩擦磨损试验机对AZ31B镁合金及其纳米复合材料的室温滑动磨损行为进行研究。实验条件为法向载荷10n.滑移速度0.60~1.2m/s、滑移距离2000m。采用SEM观察来研究磨损表面的磨损机理。通过构建一个线性回归模型来研究试验参数对磨销磨损率的影响。与AZ31B镁合金相比,由于增强体的作用而导致的硬度增强使复合材料表现出低的磨损率。犁削、犁沟、分层和氧化构成混合的磨损机理。
